1st October 1983: Exactly 2 weeks after ordination into ministry, Pastor David Oyedepo encountered Jesus as he went into a Fellowship with Him. Jesus said to him from Isaiah 48:17, “…I am the Lord your God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way thou should go.” The voice of the Lord to him was thus: I am committed to leading you if you are committed to following Me. ‘Divine Direction’ is one of the secrets behind the tremendous growth of the Living Faith Church.

1st October 1984: Yoido Full Gospel Church membership surpasses 400,000. The Church was founded by Pastor David Yonggi Cho and Pastor Jashil Choi (both of blessed memory).

1st October 1950: Bola Are is born in Ekiti State, Nigeria. She is a Gospel Music Minister, Evangelist and Former President of Gospel Musicians Association.

1st October 1960: Princess Alexandra of Kent worships in The Cathedral Church of Christ in Marina, Lagos State Nigeria. She is a member of the British Royal Family, a cousin to Queen Elizabeth II of blessed memory. The Cathedral is the Oldest and First Anglican Cathedral in Nigeria.

1st October 1949: Ray McCauley is born in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was the Senior Pastor of Rhema Bible Church and President of the International Federation of Christian Churches (IFCC).

1st October 1961: Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) begins broadcasting and will become notable for its 700 club. It was founded by Pat Robertson (of blessed memory).
