13th January 1987: Pa Sydney Granville Elton goes to be with the Lord. He was an English Missionary to Nigeria who discipled various ministers including Archbishop Benson Idahosa of blessed memory and provided a platform for international evangelists like Gordon Lindsay, T.L. Osborn and others seeking to carry out evangelistic work in Nigeria.

13th January 1957: Elizabeth Moradeyo is born. She is the wife of Bishop Thomas Aremu.

13th January 1915: Mary Slessor passes on to glory. She was a Scottish Presbyterian Missionary known for stopping the k!lling of twins in Okoyong, Cross River State, Nigeria.

13th January 1964: Pope Paul VI nominates Karol Wojtyla to be Archbishop of Krakow. In 1978, Wojtyla became Pope John Paul II.
