16th February 2008: Obong University, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria is inaugurated. It was founded by Dr. Moses Akpanudo (now a Professor). Founded in 1997 as the African College of Management, the following year gave rise to the University of Africa, as Obong University was formerly known. The vision of the School is to empower and improve the competence and independence of students in ways that prepare them to be of benefit to the Society and God’s kingdom.

16th February 2007: Pastor Ituah Ighodalo weds Pastor Ibidunni Ituah-Ighodalo. He is the Founder of Trinity House. Pastor Ibidunni passed on to Glory in June 2020.

16th February 2019: Pope Francis defrocks ex-cardinal and Archbishop of Washington, Theodore McCarrick for sexually abusing minors and adults.

16th February 1801: The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church receives its charter after black members of New York City’s John’s Street Methodist Episcopal Zion Church left the Church over racist limitations imposed on them 5 years earlier.

16th February 1977: Archbishop Janani Jakaliya Luwum was murdered under the brutal dictatorship of Idi Amin. He was known for his stand against the dictatorship of the Idi Amin led government. He was the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda prior to his death. He was 55 years old.
