17th February 2001: Project Hebron is set up. It was an advisory council to develop the appropriate structures for the take-off of Covenant University, one of the Universities founded by the World Mission Agency of the Living Faith Church Worldwide.


17th February 1889: Billy Sunday, aged 26, preaches his first evangelistic sermon in Chicago. He was an American Evangelist who was considered one of the most influential during the first 2 decades of the 20th century. He went to be with the Lord on 6th November 1935.

17th February 2001: Richard Wurmbrand goes to be with the Lord in Torrance, California, United States. Richard Wurmbrand was the author of the Christian bestseller ‘Tortured for Christ’, a memoir about his imprisonment and torture by the Communist Government of Romania. He was aged 91.

17th February 2022: His Love Foundation (HLF), the Charity Arm of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) extends its medical intervention program to the people of Abuja with the commissioning of Enoch and Folu Adeboye Dialysis Centre at Wuse District Hospital.


17th February 1898: Frances Willard, a crusader for the prohibition of women’s suffrage passes on to glory in New York City, United States of America. She was the President of the World’s Women’s Christian Temperance Union. She was aged 55.

17th February 2023: Anglican Archbishop Hosam Naoum is elected unopposed as the vice chairman of the Anglican Consultative Council during the 18th plenary session of the Anglican Consultative Council in Accra, Ghana.
