17th July 2001: Bowen University of the Nigerian Baptist Convention is established. It is a private Christian School located in Iwo, Osun State Nigeria.

17th July 2021: Daniel Abioye weds Temilola Adeleye at The Redeemed Evangelical Mission, 24 A.E. Ekukinam Street, District Utako, FCT, Abuja, Nigeria. He is the second son of Bishop David Abioye, the First Presbyter of Living Faith Church Worldwide.

17th July 1505: Martin Luther enters the Augustinian Monastic Order in Erfurt, Germany at age 21 in search of spiritual enlightenment. He was a German Theologian who began the Protestant Reformation in the 16th Century.

17th July 1674: Isaac Watts is born in Southampton, England. He was an English Congregational Minister and author of over 700 hymns. Some of his popular hymns include: “When I Survey The Wondrous Cross.” “Oh God, Our Help In Ages Past.” “Jesus Shall Reign.” Among others.

17th July 1917: Charles E. Fuller becomes born again. He was an American Baptist Radio Evangelist ordained in 1925 and in 1937 he began the pioneer program: ‘The Old Fashioned Revival Hour’. He is the Founder of Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.

17th July 180 AD: The Scillitan Martyrs (Seven men and five women) of North Africa who had been captured carrying “the sacred books and the letters of Paul” are tried before Roman Proconsul Saturninus. They were all martyred by beheading since none of them would renounce their Christian faith.
