20th August 1917: Kenneth Erwin Hagin is born in McKinney, Texas USA. He was an American preacher of the Gospel and an Author who is known for pioneering the Word of Faith Movement.

20th August 2020: Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) rejects the Companies and Allied Matters Acts (CAMA) 2020, urges President Buhari to return the law to National Assembly for amendment. The CAMA Law states that “The Commission may by order, suspend the trustees of an association or a religious body and appoint an interim manager(s) to coordinate its affairs where it reasonably believes that there has been any misconduct or mismanagement.”

20th August 1977: Christian Pentecostal Mission International is established by Reverend Dr Obiora Ezekiel (of blessed memory), after a series of crusades.

20th August 2017: Pastor Abraham Ojeme succeeds Pastor Nicholas Udoh as Resident Pastor of the Winners’ Chapel International European Headquarters in Kent, United Kingdom.

20th August 1967: Pastor Ladejola Abiodun is born. He is the Assistant General Overseer (Research and Training) of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Worldwide.

20th August 2020: Maureen Badejo, an anti-Church blogger commences continuous broadcasting of all manner of falsehood and unfounded allegations against Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries, her General Overseer, Dr D.K. Olukoya and family, Pastors and members of the Church on GIO TV. The Ministry took legal action against her and she was found guilty of defamation and character assassination by the Royal Court of Justice in the United Kingdom and was ordered to pay £65000 to Dr D.K Olukoya and £35,000 to Dr Shade Olukoya for damages.

20th August 2020: The Senate Building of Veritas University Abuja is commissioned by Governor Samuel Lalong, who was the Governor of Plateau State at the time. Veritas University is a Nigerian Private University established by the Catholic Church of Nigeria.

20th August 1912: William Booth goes to be with the Lord. He was the Founder and first General Overseer of the Salvation Army.
