26th May, 1963: Taiwo Adelakun Victor is born. He is the Founder and Presiding Bishop of Victory International Church (Rehoboth Cathedral).

26th May, 1926: Sister Aimee Semple McPherson, the Founder of Foursquare Gospel Church disappears in controversial circumstances from a California beach. Her mother claimed Aimee must have drowned, telling supporters, “Sister Aimee has gone” and planning an elaborate funeral for her in Los Angeles. But three days after her funeral on 20th June, Aimee reappeared in Arizona, saying she had escaped from kidnappers.

26th May, 1700: Nikolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf is born in Dresden, Germany. He was Bishop of the Moravian Church and a Christian Mission Pioneer. He passed on to glory at the age of 60.

26th May, 1952: Walter Thomas Conner passes on to glory in Texas aged 75. He was a Southern Baptist Preacher and educator active in Texas. He had sought to make theological education result in practical expressions of faith by writing and teaching for four decades at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

26th May, 1862: Thomas Barnado surrenders his life to Christ. He was a Christian philanthropist who lived his life providing homes for destitute children. He founded Dr. Barnado’s homes, one of Britain’s foremost children’s charities. At the time of his passing in 1905, he had opened 96 homes and cared for thousands of children.
