23 May 1993: Pastor David Abioye is consecrated as Bishop in Maiduguri, Borno State Nigeria at age 32 years and 2 months. He is the First Vice President of Living Faith Church Worldwide and the youngest person in recorded history to be consecrated Bishop of a major Church organization in the World.

23 May 1937: John D. Rockefeller is called to glory at 97. He was America’s First billionaire. He was also a devout Northern Baptist who was devoted to supporting Church-based institutions.

23 May 1533: Thomas Cranmer nullifies the marriage between Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon because it was against the will of God. Thomas Cranmer was the First Protestant Archbishop of Canterbury.

23 May 2023: The Macedonian Call team of the Bible Society of Nigeria empowers Ajegunle community in the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos State with Bibles and relief materials which included school bags, notebooks and biros for students. Other members of the community received toiletries, beverages, clothing, food items, etc.


23 May 1498: Girolamo Savonarola goes to be with the Lord. He was an Italian Dominican friar and Preacher. He was widely known for the destruction of secular art and culture and his calls for Christian Renewal.

23 May 1841: Franz von Baader is called to glory. He was a German Catholic Philosopher and Theologian who was known for mystical Theology and Ecumenism.

23 May 1843: The Free Church of Scotland is established. The Church started after 386 Presbyterian Ministers signed the Act of Separation and Deed of Demission in the already-established Church of Scotland.

23 May 1980: The last meeting, a farewell service was held at the Northwest Sixth and Burnside headquarters of the Apostolic Faith Mission, Portland, Oregon and they moved to a new location in South East Portland.
