24th January 2008: The Faith Tabernacle, International Headquarters of Living Faith Church Worldwide aka Winners’ Chapel located in Ota, Nigeria is listed by the Guinness World Records (GWR) as the largest Church auditorium in the World. GWR reported 50,000 capacity Tabernacle and overflow of 250,000. The foundation of the Faith Tabernacle was laid on 29 August 1998 while construction commenced on 18th September 1998. It was completed and dedicated on the 18th of September 1999, a period of 12 months. The Tabernacle wasn’t acknowledged by the Guinness World Records until about 9 years later in January 2008. The Tabernacle is now being prepared as an overflow facility for the soon to be completed 109,000+ seating capacity Ark Project.
24th January 1918: Oral Roberts is born in Oklahoma. He was an American televangelist and one of the first to propagate Prosperity Gospel Theology. He founded Oral Roberts University. He went to be with the Lord at the age of 91.
24th January 1967: Kenneth Copeland answers the call to ministry. He registered and began studying at Oral Roberts University. Kenneth Copeland Evangelistic Association, later to become Kenneth Copeland Ministries, was also established in 1967.
24th January 1978: The Groundbreaking Ceremony for City of Faith. It was the Medical and Research Center on the campus of Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The City of Faith was originally a three tower hospital built to serve as a teaching hospital, research facility, and home of the Oral Roberts University Medical School. Now called the Citiplex Towers, it combines a 60-storey clinic and diagnostic center, a 30-storey full-service hospital and a 20-storey research center on one 80-acre site adjacent to the Oral Roberts University campus.
