26th July 1959: Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola goes to be with the Lord at the age of 54. He was the First General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Nigeria.

26th July 2008: Pastor David Oyedepo Jnr weds his wife Kemi Oyedepo. He is the first biological child of Bishop David and Pastor Faith Oyedepo and the Resident Pastor of Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland.

26th July 1603: James VI of Scotland becomes King James I of England. He was the Head of the Presbyterian Church, Scotland in 1584. He raised the motion for the translation of the ‘Authorized’ King James Bible Version and the First Edition was published in 1611.

26th July 1988: Yoido Full Gospel Church opens the “Elim Welfare Town”. It was the social welfare facility in Asia for disadvantaged and unaccompanied senior citizens. The Church was Founded by Pastors David Yonggi Cho and Choi Ja-shil in 1958.

26th July 1872: George Green is born in London. He was the General Secretary of the Nigeria Baptist Convention from the year 1926 to 1936. He later became the General Superintendent of the Convention from 1937 to 1944. He passed on to glory aged 90.

26th July 2019: Jaime Lucas Ortega Y Alamino goes to be with the Lord. He was a Cuban Prelate of the Catholic Church. He also served as the Archbishop of Havana from 1981 to 2016. He was aged 82.
