27th July 1857: Missionaries from the Church Missionary Society (CMS) were received and welcomed in Onitsha in present day Anambra State, Nigeria. They settled and founded the first Anglican Church in Igboland ‘Christ Anglican Church Onitsha (Ebube Niger)’ which was also the first Church in Igboland.

27th July 2019: Winners’ Chapel, Ugbowo, Benin-City, carried out Road Maintenance work on Lagos-Benin Express Road, at Isihor, Opposite S&T Barracks after UNIBEN Main Gate before Agen. The Church mobilised resources, heavy-duty equipment and members to carry out maintenance on the section of the road that was in a deplorable state.

27th July 1966: Omar Akpona Pela is born. He is the Founder and Lead Pastor of The Grace Trybe, Lagos, Nigeria previously known as House of Grace.

27th July 1901: Bible Scholar, Brooke Foss Westcott passes on to glory. He was an Anglican Bishop of Durham, England. He collaborated with Fenton J. A. Hort to revise the Greek text of the New Testament. He was aged 76.

27th July 1936: Ding Shujing passes on to glory. She was the first woman to lead China’s Branch of the Young Women’s Christian Association. She was aged 46.
