27th May, 1960: His Eminence, Prelate Oliver Ali Aba was born to the family of Late Mr and Mrs Audu Aba both of Ogbadibo Olachagbaha in Ogbadibo Local Government Area in Benue State. He is the fourth and Current Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria.

27th May, 1984: The dedication service of the new headquarters of the Apostolic Faith Mission Church in Portland, Oregon, USA is held. The Apostolic Faith Church, formerly the Apostolic Faith Mission, was founded in 1907 by Florence L. Crawford who served under William J. Seymour. She was also a participant of the Azusa Street Revival of Los Angeles, California.

27th May, 1564: John Calvin, French Theologian and Protestant Reformer passes on to glory. He kept writing and ministering to the Christians in Geneva nearly up to his death. He wrote various editions of the Institutes of the Christian Religion. He was aged 54.
