28th February 2012: McPherson University is established in Ogun State. McPherson University named after Aimee Semple McPherson (Founder of Foursquare Gospel Church) was founded by Foursquare Gospel Church, Nigeria.
28th February 2020: The first confirmed case of coronavirus that kept many Churches all over the world closed for most part of the year due to the global lockdown is announced in Nigeria. The announcement prompted the issuance of the Coronavirus Regulations on 30th March 2020 by President Muhammadu Buhari which gave backing to measures such as restriction of movement and lockdown in Lagos, FCT and Ogun State. Bishop Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church Worldwide resisted the lockdown insisting “all this noise about coronavirus is just the noise of the devil.” Pastor Enenche outrightly declared, “… To hell with coronavirus. I am not dying now.” Pastor Adeboye said God had told him that only those whose time of death had come will die during the covid period. On 12 December 2022, The presidential steering committee (PSC) on COVID-19 announced the immediate relaxation of all covid-19 safety measures.
28th February 2022: RCCG establishes the office of Directorate of Politics and Governance with Pastor Timothy Olaniyan appointed to lead the office. The essence as stated is to help coordinate the engagement of the RCCG people who are willing to be involved in politics as well as mobilize support for them when required.
