28th January, 1956: The Cathedral Church of Christ in Marina, Lagos which is the oldest Anglican Cathedral in the Church of Nigeria. Under the leadership of Reverend Adelakun Williamson Howells, it hosted Queen Elizabeth Il. As she worshipped in the Cathedral. This was during her first visit to Nigeria.
28th January, 2002: Foundation laying of the International Worship Centre at Igbesa. Campground of The Apostolic Faith Church, Nigeria was carried out by Reverend Darrell Lee (Superintendent General of The Apostolic Faith Church). The new campground was named Faith City by then Africa Overseer, Reverend Paul Ogechukwu Akazue.
28th January, 2000: Babcock University founded by the Seventh Day Adventist Church holds her first matriculation ceremony. The event was presided by the then Vice Chancellor to the University and World leader of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Pastor Jan Paulsen.

28th January, 1969: Most Reverend Dr. Humphrey Bamisebi Olumakaiye is born. He was a Bishop of the Anglican Communion. He passed on to glory at the age of 53.
28th January, 1855: Reuben Archer Torrey is born in Hoboken, New Jersey, United States of America. He was an American evangelist, pastor, educator and writer. He passed on to glory at the age of 72.
28th January, 1906: Oswald Jeffrey Smith gave his life to Christ during a Crusade in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was a pastor, author and the founder of the People’s Church in Toronto. He went to be with the Lord at the age of 97.
