    30th April 1913: Rev. Moses Ladejo Stone goes to be with the Lord. He was the first ordained indigenous Minister of the Baptist denomination in Nigeria.

    30th April 1891: Ransome-Kuti Israel Oludotun is born. He was an educationist and administrator and he was the founding President of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Africa’s largest professional group. He was also an Anglican Reverend who was nicknamed ‘the Singing Minister’.

    30th April 1854: James Montgomery passes on to glory in Mount Sheffield. James was the author of the Christmas carol “Angels from the Realms of Glory.”

    30th April 1822: Hannibal Goodwin, Rector of the Episcopal House of Prayer in Newark, New Jersey, is born in Taughannock, New York. Though his main passion was making the Bible “come to life” for the children in his Church, he dreamed up 24 inventions during his life and received 15 patents. Today we remember him primarily as the father of celluloid film for photography.

    30th April 1882: Nlemvo (Mantantu Dundulu) converts to Christianity, the first Protestant convert in the Congo. He collaborated in translating the New Testament, Proverbs, and Psalms into the Kikongo language, with other Christian literature.
