4th January 1843: Second advent of Christianity in Nigeria, the first organized congregation is founded when Reverend Henry Townsend came into Abeokuta.
4th January 1930: Reverend Josiah Olubode Soyinka is born. He became the second Africa Overseer of Apostolic Faith Church on 4th December 1983 and passed on to glory on 4th September 1999.
4th January 1981: The Redeemed Evangelical Mission, TREM is founded by Bishop Mike Chukwunweike Okonkwo after previously serving in United Church of Christ under the leadership of Apostle Egbo from 1971 to 1980. Today TREM has over 180 branches globally.
4th January 1987: Oral Roberts declares that if he doesn’t raise $8 million for a medical missionary scholarship program by the end of March, God will call him home. His goal was reached before the end of the month.
