5th October 1703: Jonathan Edwards is born. He was an American Preacher and Revivalist. His popular Sermon was ‘Sinners in the Hand of an Angry God’. He passed on to glory in 1758.

5th October 1990: Salem International Christian Center begins her Satellite Television and Radio Ministry. The Church is founded by Archbishop Sam Amaga.

5th October 2020: Professor Christopher Odetunde becomes the Vice Chancellor of Augustine University Ilaro (AUI), Epe Lagos State, Nigeria. The School is a Christian Private University founded by the Lagos Diocese Catholic Church.

5th October 2019: John Samuel Mbiti goes to be with the Lord. He was an ordained Kenyan Anglican Minister and Philosopher. He was known for translating the New Testament Bible from the original Greek Language to his native Akamba Language which allowed members of his community to understand the Gospel. He was aged 88.
