6th August 2003: The vision for Glorious Vision University (GVU) Ogwa, Edo State, Nigeria is received by prophecy. The University founded by The Apostolic Church Nigeria was renamed Samuel Adegboyega University before its licensing in 2011 and reverted to GVU in 2022.
6th August 2017: Unknown gunmen storm St Philip Catholic Church in Ozubulu, near the City of Onitsha, Anambra State at 6am and open fire on worshippers. Reports had it that the attack was tied to a local feud and that the gunmen had gone to the Church looking for the son of a local chief and opened fire on the parishioners when they could not find him.
6th August 1881: James Springer White, an early leader of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church passes on to glory. He was a three time President of their General Conference, an evangelist and editor. He was aged 60.
6th August 1801: Revival hits a Presbyterian camp meeting in Cane Ridge, Kentucky, United States. Within a week, 25,000 people were attending the revival services. It was the largest and most famous camp meeting of the Second Great Awakening.
