6th June 1941: William Folorunsho Kumuyi is born in Erin-Ijesa, Osun State Nigeria. He is the Founder and General Superintendent of The Deeper Christian Life Ministry.

6th June 1859: Church Missionary Society (CMS) Grammar School Bariga, Lagos State is founded by the Church Missionary Society. The School started with 25 boys. It is the First Secondary School in Nigeria.

6th June 1844: Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) is founded by George Williams, an English merchant. It was founded out of his London meetings for prayer and Bible reading for the purpose of putting Christian values into practice by developing a healthy body, mind and spirit.

6th June 2005: University of Mkar, Gboko, Benue State, Nigeria (Formerly Hilltop University) is licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to operate as a private university. It is a private faith-based university founded by the Universal Reformed Christian Church (URCC).


6th June 1870: Anna Hinderer passes on to glory at the age of 43. She had served as a missionary in Nigeria until ill-health forced her to return to England. Despite her health condition while in England, she continued to work among factory girls and children of the poor.

6th June 2021: Reverend Stephen Akinola goes to be with the Lord at the age of 68. He was the Founder and General Superintendent of Redemption Ministries Worldwide in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

6th June 1903: Brother Bakht Singh is born in Punjab, India. He was an Indian Evangelist regarded as one of the most well-known Bible teachers and pioneers of the Indian Church Movement. He passed on to glory at the age of 97.
