8th March 1895: Hope Waddell Training Institution is established by missionaries from United Presbyterian Church of Scotland. It was named after Reverend Hope Masterton Waddell, an Irish medical missionary who served in Jamaica and Calabar. The School is located in Calabar, Cross Rivers State Nigeria.


8th March 1957: Oluyemi Osinbajo is born. He is a Pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, a Professor of Law, Senior Advocate of Nigeria and the Immediate Past Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

8th March 2019: The Maiden Matriculation Ceremony of Precious Cornerstone University (PCU) of The Sword of the Spirit Church is held. In 2017, the School was licensed to operate as a private higher institution in Nigeria. It is located at The Garden Of Victory, Agodi Ibadan Oyo State, Nigeria.

8th March 1856: William Bramwell Booth is born. He was the second General of The Salvation Army founded by his parents William and Catherine Booth. He succeeded his father and served from 1912-1929. He passed on to glory at the age of 73.

8th March 1782: Ninety-six (96) Native American Christian converts living in the Moravian Brethren town of Gnadenhutten (near New Philadelphia), Ohio United States of America are killed by militiamen in “retaliation” for Indian raids made elsewhere in the Ohio territory. They are one of the Christian martyrs who are remembered in the Moravian Church.
