Day 4, Morning Session
Recharge Conference 2021
Global Impact NG
I want to welcome everyone to this Service, it is packaged by God for a new dawn. When I was praying early in the morning, I saw people being congratulated all through the second half of the year.
I saw congratulations, saying to you, “congratulations, congratulations, congratulations”, because Jesus will do things for you today that will necessitate congratulations all through this decade in the name of Jesus Christ.
I am glad and I thank Jesus for His election of grace. I am super excited that Dad (Dr David Oyedepo) and Mum (Pastor Faith Oyedepo) can be here today. I am glad. Church Gist. I was a young boy, in my second year in School when the Holy Spirit asked me to write a letter of mentorship and I wrote a letter in my Year Two. I got a reply in my Year Four and the letter said, “I should see him on 10th of July 1998.” Today marks 23 years exactly when I met my Dad.
I remember the day, it was Jesus that brought me to him and I wrote a request which I still have here. I said:
Dear Sir,
REQUEST FOR MENTORSHIP
It is a great privilege to ask your hand in mentorship. It is risky to follow a man that is not following somebody (this was in 1998). The recent trend among upcoming youth despising spiritual fathers is not part of what God has taught me, hence I use this God given opportunity to officially open the father-son relationship. My destiny demands my submission to you and our generation demands your fatherly contributions.
I love you.
Then I asked God’s servant to sign:
I hereby willingly and wholeheartedly assume my position as a spiritual father and mentor to my son, Akinyemi Oluwatosin Ojelade (then my surname was Ojelade but God has transformed it now).
Today I have my parents in the house. I will like you to rise on your feet, precious people as we welcome my Pastor, my spiritual father, Dr David Olaniyi Oyedepo
