Again, the prophetic focus for the month is “I AM A CHILD OF DESTINY, I SHALL NOT LIVE LIKE A DESTITUTE.”
- May each one’s glorious destiny find full expression this month.
Our teaching series for the month is captioned TOWARDS MAXIMIZING OUR GLORIOUS DESTINY IN CHRIST. Destiny in the Kingdom is not about whatever happens but what has been preordained to be. What has been predetermined to be. Isaiah 14:24. Whatever happens is not destiny in the Kingdom, that’s fate. Church Gist. Experiencing what has been determined is what we call destiny. Romans 8:30. When you become a child of God, you become a child of destiny, justified to be glorified. You don’t have a destiny of shame and reproach, but a destiny of glory and virtue. Romans 8:29-30. We have a destiny of glory and honour and not shame and reproach.
- As the Lord lives, every trace of shame and reproach will drop off everyone’s life this month.
Jeremiah 29:11. There is an expected end. Every child of God has a future. You have a future. No matter what may be happening around you, you have a future. Joseph saw his future in a dream. Now, we have the Bible – God’s dream book. If you can catch your future from scripture, you have secured your future. Church Gist. Joseph saw his future in a dream and circumstances notwithstanding, he was tied to the dream and that dream came to pass. The Bible is God’s dream book for His children. Inside that lies the gorgeous, enviable future of His children. When you catch that dream, circumstances cannot dissuade or destabilize you. You are just on.
In 1976, I saw that scripture (Jeremiah 29:11 RSV) and the Lord said to me, “Your future is in my plan not your plan.” I got caught up with it. That I have a future lining up with God’s plan and not my plan. His plan is laid out in scriptures not that somebody is coming to bamboozle you. I would like you to get that from here today. Church Gist. You have a future. Where you are now notwithstanding, what you are going through now notwithstanding. You have a future.
Every child of God is an offspring of divine predestination. Ephesians 1:3-5. New birth is a function of heaven’s predestination. Just like Jacob and Esau, before they were born, not having done evil or good, God made His choice. Jacob have I loved, Esau have I hated ( Romans 9:13). He has a right to. If you are born again, He chose you before the foundation of the world and predestined us to become children of God. Romans 9:10-13. Church Gist. Jacob and Esau while in the womb of Rebecca, God made His choice. Aren’t you glad you are God’s choice? If you are born again today, you are God’s choice. You are God’s choice for favour. You are God’s choice for lifting. You are God’s choice for dominion and rulership.
This is why to be born again makes one a child of destiny. Interestingly, we all have a common destiny in Christ. Spiritual understanding is what defines the limits of everyone’s destiny in the Kingdom. Genesis 13:14-15. So every destiny is as far as our eyes can see. Spiritual understanding is what determines the limits of every believer’s destiny. I therefore pray that the eyes of our understanding will be enlightened by the help of the Holy Spirit to see farther into what God has in store for us in the name of Jesus Christ. Church Gist. Proverbs 21:16. A believer who lacks spiritual understanding of what pertains to him in the Kingdom is as good as an unbeliever. Hosea 4:6. Isaiah 5:13. They are my people and they are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Let’s look at some pictures of our destiny in Christ Jesus.
- We Have A Holy Destiny In Christ
Ephesians 1:3-5. He chose us before the foundation of the world. So we have a destiny of holiness in Christ. Matthew 1:21. He chose us before the foundation of the world to walk holy and without blemish with Him. Being born again, therefore, empowers believers to walk in the newness of life. Romans 6:4. 2 Corinthians 5:17. 1 John 3:7-8. Jesus came to destroy the dominion of sin. Romans 6:14. Sin is under our feet by redemption, it is only what we allow that happens. 2 Thessalonians 2:7. It has to be by permission of individuals, otherwise sin lost its dominion on the cross. It was nailed to the cross and never rose again. Church Gist. We have dominion over sin by the mystery of redemption. Whatever you have to see, whatever displeases God in your life is dropping off your life today. Some fellows have been in drugs for 25 years. Jesus came in and destroyed the taste of it, like a dream of the night. Government of nations sends billions to arrest drug addiction, Jesus sets people free for free. Therefore, whatever evil you know won’t let you make heaven and you want to get to heaven, it must drop off your life today.
We have a destiny of holiness in Christ. We are not supposed to be struggling with it. He said put off the old man and put on the new man. It is like a change of clothes. Do you pray to remove your clothes when you get home? No! Do you speak in tongues to do that? Therefore I decree every unwanted issue in your life be put off today. He is not coming to die a second time, it is once and for all. Church Gist. Therefore, I curse the root of sin that is plaguing many in the name of Jesus. I have a destiny of holiness in Christ. The price has been fully paid. It is now your choice. The reason you came in here today is that God wants to make you rapture ready. Can I tell you this? If the trumpet sounds now, your case is settled.
- We Have A Glorious Destiny.
2 Peter 1:3. Called unto glory and virtue, set apart for glory and virtue, destined for glory and virtue. Glory and virtue are the exact opposite of shame and reproach. Therefore, in the name of Jesus, whatever smells like shame and reproach around anyone’s life drops off finally today. You shall not see shame and reproach anymore. The Lord gave me serious insights today. The reason why many believers are wounded in the midst of a revival is spiritual carelessness. Isaiah 28:21. They are mocking believers who mock the move of God and they end up as mockeries. They are in the midst of a revival and things are working upside down for them because they are mockers. “This Church shall be twice its number. for what now? I don’t like all this kind of thing. Now pray for souls to be saved. For what? I am a child of God. Church Gist. Mocking. “You know that testimony they gave, it is not true.” Mocking. Any testimony you mock you disqualify yourself for it. Somebody got healed, “It is just by chance my friend. Healed of what?” Somebody said growth disappeared, “It didn’t disappear. It just felt so.” Any testimony you detest, you disqualify yourself for it. Any move you mock, you remove yourself from it. We are in a very delicate Kingdom, please stop that. Don’t be careless. It is a dangerous laboratory. You mock the move of God, He removes you from it. God has given us long life in return for our stewardship, “So why are people dying?” Go and die. Caution! Every idle word that a man will speak, he will pay for it. It is time to clean up. Most of us are under self affliction, self inflicted plagues. Clean up! I was just asking God, “Why are some individuals not experiencing your move?” He said “Because they mock it. When you mock my move, I remove you from the benefits of it.” I have followed Hagin since 1976, when I hear something from him that I don’t understand, I know I am yet to understand it but he is never wrong. He is speaking it from the Word. Caution! All those small meetings you gather to meet after service, you are selling off your destiny. You are playing down your destiny. “Do you know that message was because of me? That statement, somebody told Papa.” If you work around me, you know how available I am to be told things. Somebody was working in our office for 8 years and they never met me once. I met him in the lobby and I asked “Hey, are you looking for someone?” “No, I work here Sir.” Church Gist. Since when? “Eight years ago.” I met him for the first time. That is how much they tell me about you. You better wake up. One day I was teaching in Kaduna and I said why should a family be fighting over suya and a family fought over suya the previous night. But the two of them came together to Church so nobody saw me among them. They looked at themselves and the fight was over. God knows your secret things. So when He is hitting you, He is hitting you to change you. It is over to you. Please know that you have a holy destiny in Christ, don’t sell off. Your destiny is precious, don’t sell off. You have a glorious destiny in Christ, don’t sign up for shame and reproach. Don’t sign up for it. Don’t do things that will make your life end up as a mockery. Study to be quiet, face your own business. You are going places.
Most of the places today that we call churches are entertainment centres. You can’t trace any spiritual flow in most places. It is time to recover yourself. It is a race of individuality. Church Gist. Please, recover yourself. The question now is, since every child of God is a child of destiny, how do I know if I am born again? It looks so simple but it is so powerful.
- Through The Manifestations Of The Fruit Of The Spirit Which Can Also Be Defined As Proofs Of A Regenerated Spirit
There are nine fruit listed. They are all proofs of a regenerated spirit. Now you are born again, the following virtues have become inherent in you. Galatians 5:22-23. When one is born again, those virtues come alive in him. His love for God breaks forth. Any child knows the touch of the mother. Any child reckons with the sound of the mother. If you stretch your hand, he says no! I know what I am looking for. Church Gist. He is a child. If he sees the mother, he opens his hands. There is an affection that rises within you when you are born again. If you have not experienced that check your salvation. Without a drawing towards God, your new birth is questionable. Without a demonstrable love for God, your new birth is just a covering. Being born again gets us into a realm of love for God. Love with God, love for the interests of His Kingdom. God is love, if you are born of God, you are born a lover. Like begets like.
Your heart for God comes alive. Before you were doing what you want and living on your own but now that you are born again, your heart for God comes alive. The love of God coming alive in us. If you love God, you will love the people that you see. Church Gist. 1 John 4:16. God is not in you if you are not dwelling in love. 1 John 4:21. John 13:35. Our love for God overflows to the brethren. You become bearers of one another’s burden. The same love is driving us.
- The Joy Of Salvation Erupts Within You
Psalm 51:12. There is a joy that erupts within us. It is called the joy of salvation. No genuine child of God ever gets caught up with suicidal thoughts. The joy of salvation so overwhelms him, he can’t recover from it. 1 Peter 1:8. Joy unspeakable full of glory. Church Gist. Someone once asked me, Brother David, do you ever have problems? I said maybe it came and I didn’t know. If it is not there, check it. It is never too late to be right, stop making up. Love for God and joy and rejoicing in the Lord are vital proofs of salvation. The good news is you will never know depression anymore in your life.
Can you imagine somebody sold by his own brothers? They were going to kill him. They were planning his death and he was hearing. They sold him into slavery and Joseph didn’t seem to feel it. Overwhelming joy. Joseph was a kind of Christ in the Old Testament. Was taken from prison. Why are you so down this morning? What is going on here? He was unjustly locked up. Church Gist. He didn’t commit rape. He was defending his master. The same master now threw him into prison. He wasn’t down. “Excuse me, is there no job to do here?” until they made him the monitor of the prison. Joy unspeakable full of glory is one of the vital seals of redemption. I pray that from today you never run out of that joy anymore.
- Through Supernatural Rescue From The Works Of The Flesh
Galatians 5:19-21. You can see the catalogue, they are all classified as works of the flesh from which Jesus delivered us on the cross. When it was said sin shall no more have dominion over you. When He destroyed the works of sin machinated by the devil. All these things are not permitted to dominate us. 1 Thessalonians 4:3. Church Gist. The capital will of God! 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. They are not permitted to dominate us. Say with me ‘I renounce every work of the flesh out to hold me captive and rob me of my glorious destiny. I renounce every work of the flesh out to make me miss heaven and live as a sufferhead on the earth. I renounce you all today by the blood of Jesus and the name of Jesus. I am free’.
The second work of the flesh we will be looking at is idolatry. Bowing to other things other than God. Subscribing to other sources of help other than God. Including godfathers. That is spiritual adultery. God can’t share you with anybody else, He is more than enough. Jeremiah 17:5-6. Many have made gods out of men and they are just frustrated going through tough times. Your father never dies. Big men only live for a moment, soon they are no more. This great God lives forever. Onbe leyin mi ko pada. Kabiyesi nbe leyinmi Oba to ba Jaiye. A tini leyin koju ma tini mo yin o oooo. (He’s backing me, He has not left. He’s backing me when the King comes. The backer of a person so that the person is not ashamed I praise you.) You can’t beat God. He is the strong man behind this ministry. The only, the soul. No sharing. Whatever He cannot do, let it be undone. Church Gist. You can’t live your life out for God only and be disappointed. Psalm 62:5. Let your expectation be from Him alone, not from your uncle, not from your cousin. Worse still, not from native doctors. Some are in Church but they still have some things in their pocket. How long will you deceive yourself? If God be God, serve Him. If it is your idol, go with it. Idolatry is a work of the flesh that we have been redeemed from. Exodus 20:3-5. God will judge it. It will pass from generation to generation. It is time to stop that generational line of curses in our lives. 1 Corinthians 10:14. Flee! it is dangerous. Flee! It can rob you of your place in destiny.
What Are The Keys To Realizing Our Colourful Destiny In Christ?
- Have a heart for God
No one lives with a heart for God without making a mark on the earth. David, a man after God’s own heart. We saw how much mark he made. Jesus came through his lineage. Jesus is holding the Key of David in heaven. Church Gist. You can’t have a heart for God and not make remarkable marks on the earth. 1 Corinthians 2:9. To realize our glorious destiny, we must possess a heart for God in truth and in deed. Possess a heart for God. - Have A Thirst For The Word
Isaiah 55:1, 10. A thirst for the Word is required to maximize our destiny in Christ. Why? Every of our inheritance is transmitted through the Word. Acts 20:32. So we locate and are allotted our inheritance through the Word. 2 Peter 1:3. We access all things that pertain to us through the knowledge of him. Have a thirst for the Word. I am trading nothing but the secrets of the Word revealed to me and it is working like fire. I saw my prosperity in clearest terms before I had my first bank account. I saw myself listed among the richest, in fact, I declared I am not only going to prosper, I will be among the most prosperous. You can’t locate your inheritance and shy away from it. Revelation is not about knowing what God has provided but knowing what it takes to take delivery. Information is knowing what God has provided. Church Gist. Revelation is knowing what it takes to take delivery. “Men and brethren, what shall we do…” We belong to a doing Kingdom, if you don’t know what to do, you will just be on the same spot forever. You can’t wish your change of position, you must know what to do to change position. Daniel 11:32. A thirst for the Word.
After I was called to go into full-time ministry, I asked God now who will pay me. I began searching for it, after a while I stumbled on it. “After this, He appointed seventy also”. You are in my employment. The labourer is worthy of his wages. Stay on duty, I am responsible.” I have never missed my pay once. You know why I know? I have never borrowed once. I have never taken overdraft once. I have never taken a cube of sugar from a neighbour once. Church Gist. All this flamboyant revelation, we are carrying about. It is not revelation Sir. They are mere stories. Revelation is knowing what God says is available and how to obtain it. Knowing what it takes. You must know the covenants of God for your change of position.
He told me what to do to grow the Church. 1. Engage in prayer and fasting, break off the hold of the enemy. 2. Go out and tell them, come and see. We are doing that. We went out yesterday and Thursday, we got 18,000 people for Christ. Church Gist. 3. Keep sowing the seed – The Word of God. That is what I am doing. I won’t tell you when I slept this morning. I was preparing for you and for me. As the grass grows, the sheep will come for it. Keep the grass green and the sheep will lay down there. Revelation is about covenant. The unveiling of God’s covenant on any subject matter. Those four keys will grow any Church in the desert.
This prevailing economic condition has no right on your life. We are entitled access to His riches in glory, it is off this planet. It is not part of what they do here. He told the rich not to be high-minded. A time is coming when nothing will be happening here, you need to access the treasures in heaven. Church Gist. Luke 12:21. How hard is the economy on this Church? Zero forever! If they like let them make naira, ₦5000 to $1. Riches in glory are inexhaustible. Malachi 3:18. Walking in the covenant, you can’t feel it.
So don’t join them saying, “Anybody who claims he is not feeling this is a liar.” Okay. So God is a liar. Thank you. The earth will burn like an oven but they that fear my name, I will distinguish them. They will be growing up and going forth. That is you God is talking about. There is what to do, to be there. Church Gist. If you keep serving God with your means genuinely, willingly, joyfully, when the day comes, it distinguishes you. We will frustrate the devil as we line up with God’s Covenant. Forget him, he has no hold on your life.
David, the man after God’s heart, the Bible said “How love I thy law.” That’s David’s testimony. Church Gist. Psalm 119:97-100. It is not just about coming to understanding, it is walking in it that makes a difference. It is a brand new day for you. No one here shall live like a destitute.
WINNING INVISIBLE BATTLES
1 John 5:4. No battle on this earth can disregard the authority of faith any day. Ephesians 6:16. 1 John 5:19. Faith is the answer to winning every invisible battle. Please build your faith. Little faith can’t stand the storms of hell. “Why are you so fearful? Oh, ye of little faith. Build your faith to quench all the fiery darts of the devil. There is a measure of faith, there is little faith, there is great faith, there is exceeding great faith. Build your faith. Invisible battles are real, build your faith. You don’t have to be interested, the battle is on. Build your faith. Church Gist. When you enter into a ring as a wrestler, you better be set to wrestle. As you step into this Kingdom, get ready for the battle. Deuteronomy 2:24. There are battles against possessing your possession. Contend with that and it is a fight of faith. Fight the good fight of faith so you can lay hold of what eternal life has in store for you. It is a fight. The good news is you have what it takes to win the war. He has given to every man a measure of faith leaving him to develop it to any level that he so desires. It is not grammar, it is depth in God.
We were transiting in a nation and that nation was a bit closed for people that are transiting for access. So they told me, “Well, the Immigration may not allow us to go in.” Because I needed to see what we were doing in that country. I said relax. Follow me. We went through, no questions. We came back. Salute. Wake up, build your faith. This is not magic, this is faith. You can’t build your faith wishing, you work it. Faith comes by hearing and understanding the Word of God. So get materials that will help build your faith by those who operate in faith. To the glory of God, I read virtually everything that Hagin wrote. Church Gist. Most of the things if not everything that T.L. Osborn wrote. Over the years, I am still referencing those things. Though I have written quite a few materials on faith. You can’t build your faith by wishing. Little faith can’t stand the storms of hell. Build your faith, secure your victory over invisible battles and you will be glad you did.
Even though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. The battles are in the realm of the Spirit. When our obedience is fulfilled, we will avenge all disobedience. What is obedience? Build your faith, quench the fiery darts of the devil. Take the shield of faith. Locate the weaponry of faith and sharpen it up. The Kingdom of Darkness is where invisible forces reside. It is the Kingdom of wickedness where there is always weeping and gnashing of teeth. Psalm 74:20. Church Gist. He delivers us through our subscription to the covenant for rescue. The capital covenant rescue weapon is faith. Not just little faith, Abraham was strong in faith. Great faith! Not just little faith, exceeding great faith! Matthew 15:28. Build strength to your faith, that is God’s capital covenant term for victory over invisible battles. Build strong faith and you quench all the fiery darts of the enemy.
Matthew 22:13. Ephesians 6:12. When you find weeping and gnashing, it is the manifestation of the Kingdom of darkness from where you and I have been rescued. Church Gist. He has translated us from the Kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of life. We don’t belong to the weeping and gnashing of teeth realm of life. May today mark the end of every form of secret tears in your life.
We are always at war with invisible forces, which are forces of darkness but the dominion of light over darkness is instant and questionable. What builds strong faith is access to the deep things of God. Church Gist. The deeper our access to the Word, the stronger our faith becomes. The deeper our access to the Word, the brighter we shine and the farther the forces of darkness are from our domain. To overcome these wicked invisible forces:
- Be Born Again
- Build Your Faith And Engage With It In Battle.
Faith will break down anything mocking your destiny. Church Gist. Faith will break down anything harassing your life. Faith will dry up every source that is out to bring you down. - Seek The Outbreak Of Light For Dominion Over Invisible Forces Through Prayer And Fasting
Isaiah 58:6-8, 14. Seek spiritual empowerment and outbreak of light and you will be there. - Be Committed To Kingdom Advancement Endeavours To Secure Divine Presence That Will Level Out All Invisible Barriers On Your Path
Be committed to the Great Commission. Matthew 28:20. If God be for us, who can be against us? When you are in pursuit of the Great Commission, you secure divine presence that will level out all invisible barriers on your path. Psalm 114:3. Divine presence is the capital outcome for engagement in Kingdom advancement stewardship. God’s presence goes with you on the road, in the air, at work, on the bed, you secure God’s presence naturally and barriers bow, they clear the way naturally. Church Gist. He sent them to the places where He Himself will come. You are on the go, He goes with you. You are on the go for Him, He walks with you. You are on the go for Him, He works for you. You are on the go for Him, He works through you. It is amazing! We are talking about the greatest asset of life, bearing divine presence. All those people talking about me here and there, they have never said it in my presence. When they see me, “God bless you Sir. You are such a blessing to us. People like you are what we need now.” The same people. Who dare you! Are you blind, you can’t see what I carry? Divine presence is the seal of our triumph over the battles of life. Divine presence. I have never said to someone Jesus loves you and they said Shut up. No! That was long ago, not now. How? Go out with the consciousness of your divine presence because you have it. You are on the go, He goes with you. He said, “Lo, I am with you always till the end of the age.”
You don’t have to remind God of your works to be rewarded. He remembers by Himself. You don’t have to remind God of your works. God is not unrighteous to forget your works. Hebrews 6:10. He is not unrighteous to forget, He doesn’t need a reminder. You can remind Him of His promise, not of your work. He sees your work in secret and He rewards you openly. You don’t have to ask Him. Psalm 105:42. He remembers by Himself. I have never reminded God to pay me once. It is 42 years running. You don’t remind God of your works, He is not unrighteous to forget. Stop waiting for rewards, keep working. You don’t need to remind Him for rewards. Matthew 6:6. So get set, before this first half of the year is over demonstrate to God that you don’t have to remind Him of your work. Work like never before. And let Him show up like never before in your life. Church Gist. Do you want to see what you have never seen? Then get set to do what you have never done. If nothing about God moves you, nothing about you will move God. Forget it. All this Papa pray for me won’t change your story. Papa can’t change the Bible. Which Papa? Where is he coming from? The scripture cannot be broken by any anointing. They wouldn’t believe Jesus, He couldn’t heal them. Papa praying for you is not a substitute for your obedience. He is not. I pray for you “Be blessed” that is if you are serving Him. “Prosper”, that is if you are a giver.
- It is your month.
- You are breaking forth into a new realm this month.
- God is changing your level this month.
- You are breaking new grounds this month.
You don’t need to remind God of your works, He reminds Himself to reward you openly and He will. God will distinguish between those who are serving Him and those who are not serving Him. The time is now. When the earth begins to burn like an oven, it is time for God to show who is serving Him and who is not serving Him. May you be counted worthy on that positive side. Not just serving God, serving God faithfully and fruitfully. Proverbs 28:20. Luke 19:17. Many shall hit huge surprises this time. Church Gist. Surprises beyond your wildest imagination. From one pound, you make profit of ten pounds and you have a reward of ten cities. Your level is changing. It is not about being involved, it is about being productively involved. Don’t give the devil any inroad into your life. He is the accuser of the brethren. When you break the covenant, he reports that you have broken the covenant. My desire is that each one flows in the same realm of grace that this Church is under. Church Gist. The grace of unstoppable breakthrough. The grace of irresistible breakthrough. The grace of not depending on any human person to find your way forward. The grace of God’s favour unlimited. That is my desire and the only way you can get there is to know what will take you there. You can’t be walking with God and be assaulted by the powers of darkness. Invisible forces will bow to you any day, any time.

- Every evil mark on your life that exposes you to the affliction of the wicked, I command those marks erased by the blood of Jesus.
- Every agent of the devil that won’t let you find your way in life, goes down for you today.

- Every trap of idolatry, pursuing after other gods not knowing it is to your detriment, that siege is over today.
