Isaiah 58:8-11. Those are all benefits that accrue to us from prayer and fasting.
– May we step into that realm today where God shall continue to guide us continually!
UNDERSTANDING HOW GOD LEADS – Part 1c. Proverbs 21:16. Lack of spiritual understanding will make a believer look like he is not saved because he is in black out. The Ethiopian Eunuch was reading from Acts of the Apostles 8:26-35, Philip came on that chariot, “understandest thou what thou readest?” Church Gist. We cannot be imparted spiritually without spiritual understanding.
– May each one receive today, next level of spiritual understanding in embracing divine guidance in the name of Jesus Christ!
1. According to Scriptures, by redemption every believer has a glorious destiny. Romans 8:29-30; 2 Peter 1:3.
2. Every child of God has a mountain top destiny. Matthew 5:14. So we belong to the top – it is not our ambition; it is our birthright. Church Gist. Ephesians 2:6; John 3:31. We are redeemed for the tops; it’s not our ambition, crave, it is our birthright.
3. Every believer has an enviable destiny after the order of Isaac. Genesis 26:12-14; Galatians 4:28. Church Gist. We are redeemed to be envied not to be pitied. But Isaac was guided to that enviable realm. Genesis 26:2.
4. Every child of God has a royal destiny. We belong to royalty. We are a peculiar people – 1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 5:9-10.
5. We also have a pace setting destiny in Christ. Mark 2:12. Church Gist. Bringing to light things that have never been seen or imagined. John 14:12.
6. Every seed of Abraham is ordained a global phenomenon. Genesis 22:18; Galatians 3:29. Church Gist. Where you are is not your bus stop, it’s a stepping stone to awesome, gorgeous days ahead if you keep following him. The question now is: Why is this not the experience of many believers?
1. Lack of access or refusal to follow divine direction. Isaiah 42:22-25; Jeremiah 2:14-17. So we just step into realms of devastations when we miss divine direction. Isaiah 48:21. Church Gist. One wrong step can finish a whole destiny but this is where the problem is: divine leading hardly makes earthly sense. Isaiah 55:9. They are beyond your comprehension. Our small intellect cannot appraise God’s ways. But they do make heavenly sense and they put you on top of all circumstances. Daniel 4:26.
Watch, we had a building project in Kaduna and then we had a quit notice. It was normal to quickly finish a section of it and begin to use it. Hear what the Lord said to me, “should this Church move to that place, that will be the end of this ministry”. Church Gist. What? We prayed before we started, He supplied the means to keep doing it. “Should this Church move to that place, that will be the end of this ministry”, It would have ended before you met us. Church Gist. How do you relate with that? You’re not going to look for another place? How? If it moved there, it will end, God never lies.
– may you never move into where your life will be stagnated and destiny destroyed.
– no one will miss his steps here!
Isaiah 55:8-9. Our intellect is too small to appraise Divine guidance. How many will vote for them passing through the Red Sea? How? Church Gist. You’re not going to throw a bridge? How? You said that’s the way God said we should go, how? Did He show up or not? He showed up, the Sea parted way. When God leads, the unthinkable happens.
– somebody’s story is changing.
Now, Faith Tabernacle will be built in one year. Where is the budget? “Don’t ask me, I will get it dedicated in one year”. “Thank you, Sir”. Church Gist. He will open doors to us to plant Churches in 75 Nations in one year. How? How prepared are you for it? He said it, we believed Him and He did it. His ways are past finding out, all we need is access to His leadings and faith to follow.
“We are moving to Canaanland, what adequate agreement have you made on transportation? Are you a dummy? Why should there be no Church in the old Church, is God a waster?” Just questioning nonsense. Church Gist. “Get out from there, as you Pastor that one Church, the world will become your Parish” how? Did He do it or not?
– something must break lose in your life today!
If you don’t suspend your natural intellect, you can’t follow this. 1 Corinthians 2:14. It’s a common fact that no one will ever outgrow Divine direction, no sheep can survive without a shepherd. It’s a lifelong school. Church Gist. Abraham began to follow from 75, at 114, God still tested Abraham. Genesis 22:1. It’s a lifelong school. No matter how expert a driver you may be, you don’t know the way in a place that you don’t know the way. Church Gist. Expertise is not the way, you just must know the way, otherwise, you will be parking everywhere, “excuse me, where am I going?” You should know before you left home.
– you’re changing level!
Without light, life is at a standstill. In Exodus 10, God brought thick darkness over Egypt, darkness that could be felt. Exodus 10:22-23. They call it gross darkness. Psalm 119:105. Church Gist. Darkness came upon the great man Elijah, he was wishing death for himself but light came through from Heaven and opened a new chapter to his life.
– there are many people here, light will shine from Heaven that will open a new chapter to your life in the name of Jesus.
A wrong route will never lead to the right destination. It’s never late to be right. God will only back up His plans in our lives and not our plans. God led Noah to build an ark that saved his generation and preserved the human race. Church Gist. He backed a farmer up to accomplish an engineering feat. God is God anyday. When He leads, He backs up the led and supplies all that He will need, He turns you into a living wonder by so doing.
Now, how do we access Divine guidance? We will look at a few of them tonight, just 3. One of the platforms to accessing Divine guidance is through prayer and fasting. Isaiah 58:6,11. Church Gist. We secure guidance from the altar of prayer and fasting by praying prayers of inquiries. We saw David rose up to this in terms of the prayer content. The Philistines gathered together against him, “shall I go up? Will you deliver them to my hands?” The Lord said, “go up, I will surely deliver them to your hands”. Next time they came, he said, “Lord, shall I go up?” The Lord said, “no, don’t go up, you wait”. Divine guidance is facilitated from the altar of prayer and fasting. Jeremiah 33:3. Church Gist. Subject your prayers and fasting to well defined issues. Don’t just generalize prayers, it doesn’t fly. Isaiah 58:11. Ezra 8:23. They fasted to know the way to go from verse 20 and the Lord showed them the way to go. Ezra 8:21-22.
In the beginning days of this Church, I saw the Church crawling and I said: ‘Look, let’s find out what is wrong with us’, so I proclaimed a three-day fast with three of the staff. On the third day, the Lord said: ‘Stand up and follow Me’. He delivered to me 4 vital keys of Church growth that are still working today. But only those who ask questions are entitled to answers, every genuine question of a believer will receive answers from the Lord. Don’t question God, ask Him what is wrong with you, ask Him which way to go. Church Gist. Nothing is ever wrong with God, ask Him the way to go. I said to the Lord: ‘Show me the secret to Kingdom prosperity, I went on a three-day fast, on the third day the Heavens opened. ‘My son David, My prosperity plan is not a promise, it doesn’t answer to prayers, it’s not a promise it has no respect for fasting. My prosperity plan is a covenant, until your part is played I’m not committed’. That was the jackpot of my life into the realms of prosperity. You have a part to play, crying is not your part, weeping is not your part. It is taking covenant responsibility that empowers believers for wealth that you must undertake. You don’t take it, you can pray forever, it won’t happen.
Many many years ago, I said: ‘Jesus! Show me the secret behind the Book of Ezekiel’. I was moved by that drama of the Valley of The Dry Bones. Church Gist. Something must be behind it. ‘Lord! Show me the secret behind the Book of Ezekiel’, I read night and day for three nights. The third day, on my way back from the mountain, I heard the Lord say to me: ‘Behold! I’ve touched your tongue with the coal of fire, from henceforth as you say it, you see it’. You find Prophetic Words come forth and lives transformed. Jeremiah 33:3.
2. To remain in love with God.
John 15:15. You have access to all things and all things include showing you things to come. John 6:12-14. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10. You are in love? He reveals to you the deep things of God far beyond human reasoning, far beyond human imagination. David was continually guided, he was a man after God’s own heart. Church Gist. Before he finishes prayer God will answer. 2 Samuel 5:19. Speedy response! That’s what belongs to every true lover of God. He secures divine guidance with ease. Stay in love to secure access to divine guidance continually.
3. God still reveals Himself through Heavenly visions.
Acts 26:19. Heavenly visions are still real today. God showing up like in a film leading the way to go. I was before Him for 18 hours when He delivered This Mandate, it’s not waking up with some balloon dream, it is God appearing. I was asking questions He was answering me, I wasn’t sleeping. Church Gist. I saw these people groaning, agonizing, travailing, I began crying. ‘Why Lord’? And He said: ‘And from beginning it was not so and now the hour has come to liberate the world from all oppressions of the devil through the preaching of the Word of Faith and I’m sending you to undertake this task’. Heavenly visions are still real. We saw Cornelius in a vision, we saw how clear that vision was and how well God confirmed it. Heavenly vision is still real.
Now, let’s examine some biblical proofs of being led by the Spirit. What are the things that show up to prove that God is the one leading? What are the issues that we experience to show that God is the one leading? We have examined quite a number of them since this series began but tonight, let’s look at two of them:
1. Supernatural confidence and boldness.
When God is leading, He inputs the led with supernatural confidence. It reflects in his speech, it reflects in his outlook. Supernatural confidence! Church Gist. Sustainable confidence! Confidence that does not wane, it doesn’t go down. Ever growing confidence in God. Philippians 3:3. Acts 14:3. When God is the one leading, you are supernaturally emboldened.
2. Supply of divine strength.
Judges 6:14. When God sends, He inputs divine strength into the sent. Because God’s might is according to God’s size, no human strength can cope with God’s agenda. He supplies the unusual strength. When God sent Moses, He inputs him with unusual strength. Church Gist. Deuteronomy 34:7. When God sends, He strengthens the sent to accomplish the awesome task He sent him to do. I’ve travelled quite a bit, I’ve never had what they call jet lag in my life, not once. I’m as busy flying as in my office but I came from a trip, no matter how long and far away it is; that I had jet lag. I’ve never had it. That’s not me in the natural oo, no! Because I know me more than you know me. But since He placed this call upon my life, He supplies such unusual energy to drive.
When God sends, He strengthens the sent to accomplish the task. How does He do that? He gives them a new body. Hebrews 10:5. So when you are on His assignment, you enjoy the supply of His divine strength by which you keep commanding exploits. Daniel 6:32b. Now, if you commit genuinely today to soul winning because you are on His mission, you will begin to enjoy unusual strength. Every child of God has a Ministry, they call it the Ministry of Reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 2:18. Many may not recognize that till they go to Heaven, that doesn’t make it to be untrue, but you are on God’s Mission, it shows. He supplies the strength beyond you to get the job done. So there is no harassment about somebody having a Ministry, every believer has a Ministry. It’s called the Ministry of Reconciliation. John 15:16. John 15:2.
We have that awesome ministry as believers, we are now ambassadors for Christ if you care to take it. What happens? You begin to enjoy supernatural confidence and supernatural strength. These two are assets to life. They say on this side that health is wealth. Daniel 3:27-28. He gives you and me a yielded body that fire cannot consume, nothing can stop. That is the secret of our strength. Judges 6:15-16. Church Gist. What a one-man army Gideon became from a weakling. Watch out for this. All these ‘I am tired’ ‘I am weary’ no! When God sends, He supplies His strength. Somebody’s story is changing in the name of Jesus. We are going to humiliate sickness and diseases these last days. It will be far from your family, far from your household, far from your children and grandchildren, it will be far from you.
God never leads backwards, He always leads forward. Church Gist. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Psalm 100:3.
Even though Christ is the living Word and He was given the Holy Ghost without measure, He still said I can of my own self do nothing. No matter our spiritual stature, to miss out on divine direction is to head on for frustration, devastation and eventual destruction. God forbid! Jesus never missed his steps, we shall not miss our steps.
God’s agenda to get you and me on the covenant highway of life is still ongoing. His agenda speaks loudest at the end. Church Gist. Nothing may seem to have happened with your natural sight but there are things working behind the scenes waiting to manifest in your life as you stay on key with God.
– You will miss your package for the year.
– You will not miss the full delivery of your package for the year.
– You have experienced quite a bit but you are going to experience the fullness of it in the name of Jesus.
Stay connected, remain in tune, let your pursuit of God be endless and goodness and mercy will keep pursuing you all the days of your life.
– The month of September 2023 shall be your month in all ramifications.
Psalm 102:19.
Next Sunday as the Lord lives, every appointment with death through a machination of the wicked shall be cancelled. Church Gist. Everyone appointed to death shall be loosed.
– In your household, untimely death shall not be mentioned.
– Children shall not be buried.
– Foetuses will not die in the womb. Young adults will not be buried.
– Every family will take on a new identity. Church Gist.
– It shall be said of your household, they don’t die young there.
– You shall not plant and another man eat.
– You shall not build and another man dwells in.
He said, “My elect shall long enjoy the fruits of their labour”.
– Therefore I decree the seal of a good old age to come upon you.
God is going to put a seal of longevity on you, money can’t buy that. Positions can’t buy that but it is for free in Christ. You are receiving it in the name of Jesus.
Abraham was buried in a good old age, an old man, full of years. We brethren are the children of promise. Isaac went home five years above his father. Church Gist. So you have no business, it is not your portion to die early.
– No one gathers to mourn in your household anymore.
