We have been trying to examine the amazing outcomes from the prayer and fasting altar. We looked at fresh oil yesterday or next level of anointing as one of the outcomes reserved for us on the altar of prayer and fasting. Church Gist. Isaiah 58:6, Isaiah 10:27…which implies ‘I have ordained the platform of prayer and fasting for access to new anointing, next level anointing, increase in unction.’ So spiritual empowerment is core of what is obtainable from the prayer and fasting platform.
Today, we look at access to next level love for God and the interest of His Kingdom. We can secure an ‘enfirement’ of our love for God from the Altar of prayer and fasting. Church Gist. We prayed one prayer item right now on the Spirit of Love as we have it in 2 Timothy 1:7.
Every enduement with the Spirit calls for a longing and a panting to experience it. Isaiah 44:3-4. So, it takes a thirst to access any spiritual endowment including the Spirit of Love. Church Gist. People hardly pray for it. So they keep roaming about the same level of love and things keep happening to them at the same level.
Let’s recognize that our love for God is a spiritual virtue. We may choose to because you have to first, but our choice must be empowered to stand the test of time. Church Gist. So, He makes available to us the Spirit of Love to keep us going in season and out of season.
– No one’s love will fail anymore!
Let’s recognize quickly that everything that works in the Kingdom works by love. For instance, the following works by love:
1. Revelation. No one can access any deeper revelation than his heart for God. John 15:15. Church Gist. So the love for God makes our access unlimited, unlimited access to revelation by a genuine heart for God…and what is the outcome? Psalm 119:105,130, Isaiah 60:1-3,22, John 1:5. So it (light) secures our destiny against the wickedness of the wicked.
2. Faith also works by love. 1 Corinthians 13:2. Faith works by love. Galatians 5:6. Faith works by love which means faith will only deliver to the level of our love for God. Most people are out here to use God but those who are out for God for who He is, their faith will always deliver. Faith works to the level of our love for God. That is why we need to cry out for the enlargement of our heart towards God and the interest of His Kingdom.
3. The Anointing. Not every anointed person gets results. Not every anointed ministry has impact. Church Gist. Psalm 45:6-8. We are empowered to serve His purpose. So when our heart is not in His Purpose, He puts a limit on the level of empowerment you can ever experience. We are empowered to serve His purpose.
Jesus came and said, ‘He has anointed me to pursue His purpose, to set the captives free to open the prison doors, to…so we are empowered or serve His purpose. Church Gist. When our heart is not after Him and His purpose, He places limits on how much empowerment anybody can access.
He is anointed above His fellows because He loves righteousness. Whatever God loves was His love. Wherever God stood was where He stood…and you saw a man by the name Paul – ‘who shall separate us from the love of God as in Christ Jesus’ and then the people exclaimed ‘the gods have come down to us in the likeness of men.’ Church Gist. So it is to the level of the love for God at work in us that the Anointing delivers. It will not deliver beyond the level of our love for God.
That demon said ‘Jesus I know, Paul I know, who are you?’ Acts 19:15. Church Gist. He was a man feared in the realm of the Spirit. The Anointing on him was always delivering.
4. 1 Corinthians 13:3. So giving works by love. Stop trading with God. Let your givings be love motivated – to God, to the advancement of His Kingdom and to the needy around you. Church Gist. Let your giving be love motivated not gain driven. The reason you won’t give to the poor is that, what will the poor give back to you? That is the reason. The reason you won’t mind the needy is what will the needy give back to you? But when love is the motivation behind our giving, giving becomes a delight, a natural delight – you are not struggling with it.
We saw a man here by name David, a man after God’s own heart and heart what he said in 1 Chronicles 29:3. Every genuine lover is a delightsome giver. God so love and God so gave. Church Gist. No one can give beyond his love for God and the interest of His Kingdom and many more. But everything genuine has counterfeits. So there is fake love. 2 Corinthians 8:8.
There are Biblical proofs of genuine love God which include among others:
1. Anyone that loves God will love His Word. Love is not just for reading. You love His Word for living. The Word becomes what dictates your steps in life. Psalm 119:97-100. So it’s not just love quoting scriptures like parrots, it is loving the Word for living. Praise God! Church Gist. ‘Why call me Lord, Lord without doing what I tell you to do?’ It doesn’t add anything. You are just a theologian. Now, it is the practice of the Word that shows our genuineness of our love. John 14:21.
2. If you love God, you will love His House. Going to Church won’t be an issue for you, you are not looking for reasons. People who go to the drinking bar, they don’t have reasons for not going. Even if they have sick people in their house, they still branch in their drinking joint to drink themselves before they get home. Church Gist. So why should going to Church be a problem to you? It’s because your love is not there. You know, when you drive a long distance to get home after work, your heart is there. Any visitor may think that the road to your house is not good, it’s very good for you because that is your home – that’s where your heart is.
Most of us have just come back from villages, others are still yet to come. You know the road to your village. Praise God! You bend, ‘you corner’, you bend before you get there but you are smiling before getting home. ‘Yeah, I am about getting home.’ That’s what Church is to every true child of God. Going to Church is a delight, you are not looking for reasons against it.
If you have a son that is not coming home to sleep, do you commend him? “Just to let you know, I just like what you are doing. You have not been home for the past 2 weeks, well done.” No, no! Before he becomes an area boy, you pursue after him.
– May no one here become an area christian!
Psalm 84:1. You are always excited about the House of God. It turns you on. Psalm 87:1-11. Very interesting Scripture. Psalm 122:1-8.
3. If you love Him, you will serve the interest of His Kingdom with delight. Psalm 89:20. Every true lover is a tireless servant. You can always measure where your heart is by looking at these points. Psalm 89:20-24.
4. (We mentioned this) Every true lover is a delightsome giver. These are proofs.
5. Every true lover loves the brethren. The need of others turns him on. We are talking of Kingdom care covenant. Church Gist. ‘He is connected, he is with them, he is on their side, he wants them out.’ 1 John 4:21, John 13:34-35. If every engraced soul in this Commission (in every local assembly) will be interested in the welfare of the needy around, we will have a super healthy Church. Church Gist. But everybody closes their eyes and they are just going. They come to your cell meeting and they don’t know what to eat next and you have excess food at home but it doesn’t move you. Galatians 6:2,10.
I was crying out during the Annual Leadership Summit ‘have a budget for those in need around you at your level’. It can be 10 naira today, it will soon become 100 naira tomorrow. It can be 1,000 naira today, it will soon become 10,000 naira tomorrow.’
How do we access biblical love as we begin to round up?
1. It is a choice. Love is primarily a choice. It begins with a choice. Joshua 24:15, Deuteronomy 30:19, 1 John 3:15. So, it’s a choice.
2. We must strive for our choice to be empowered to stand the test of time. Peter said “I will never deny you” but when the going went tough, Peter did 3 times. He wept bitterly to recover himself. But after the Holy Ghost came sir, you can’t stop him. Church Gist. Peter became unstoppable, an immovable rock. He became an immovable rock. We need our choice of love for God to be empowered so it can stand the test of time in season and out of season. 2 Timothy 1:6-7.
3. We must pray for the Holy Ghost to enfire our love for God. ‘The God that answers by fire, let it be the Lord.’ You remember the story on Mount Moriah?…and the Holy Ghost is said to be the Holy Ghost and Fire. “He will baptize you with the Holy Ghost and fire.” Romans 5:5…shed abroad means fired into our souls.
– Holy Ghost enfire my love to another level. I mustn’t end the way I started this 21 days of prayer and fasting. Enfire my love for God into new dimensions.
4. We can also learn to walk in love. 1 Thessalonians 4:9-10…So, it’s taught. You are hearing it now, something is sparking inside you. “I think this area is missing in my life, I need to do something about it.” Praise God! Amen!
5. Recognize that loving one another is a commandment of Christ. It’s not make-up. That’s Christ’s commandment and His commandments are not grievous. Church Gist. So you can if you desire to and if you will take steps to see your love for God empowered to keep you going in season and out of season. It’s a commandment. 1 John 5:3.
Finally, what is the outcome of genuine love?
1. Everything works together for good to them that love God. So proven love for God keeps things working together for good for us. 1 Corinthians 2:9. So walking in genuine love for God makes a believer a wonder to the world around him. Church Gist. Eyes have not seen what will start happening in their lives, ears have never heard what will start happening in their lives. It turns believers to pacesetters, pathfinders. This year is an awesome year. It’s a year of unusual opportunities.
– May no one go into slumber while great things are happening by your side!
– You will not watch others share testimonies, you will be a testimonial yourself as you choose to engage!
So, He has not asked the seeds of Jacob to seek Him in vain. Every commandment of scriptures is for our profiting. Church Gist. Sir, you will never find a believer breaking into new realms of light without being a genuine lover.
