The colour and beauty of the Christian adventure is a strong covenant mentality. The choir just sang, “make me strong” now. Daniel 11:32b. We can’t be strong by wishing to be strong or praying to be strong. Those who do know their God, they shall be strong and they shall do exploits. Yes, He gives us access to His Word that makes us strong but we have to gain access to that Word to be strong. A strong covenant mentality will make this journey most colourful, most eventful and most fulfilling. Church Gist. I once said any faith that seeks to make God absolutely responsible for the outcome of one’s life is an irresponsible faith. As free and open as salvation is, until you are humble enough to repent, you can’t be saved. No! He is a covenant keeping God and in His Word lies all the covenants of life. A four year old saying “Read this book to me. This is the book I want. Read page 20 over and over.” His faith rose, the Wednesday following he went through full blood count, SS turned AA. Church Gist. 4 years old! Someone here was behind in his class and he read the book ‘The Secrets Of Success’, went back to school and he said “I read with courage.” At 300 Level, he was the best in his class. He was lagging behind in 100 and 200 Level but as he came to know what it takes to succeed and believe in those things and engage with them, the story changed. One of our new graduates at Covenant, yet to be convocated, he was behind in 100 Level, he read the book ‘Following The Path of The Eagle’. He came out First Class in Civil Engineering. It takes spiritual strength to command the supernatural, that is why we are training.
Lord, answer each one of us according to our faith in the name of Jesus.
I AM REDEEMED A WONDER TO MY WORLD. That is the lot of every child of God. John 3:8. Isaiah 8:18. Our teaching series is UNLOCKING THE SUPERNATURAL 4. The first question we have been answering is who am I? Because knowing who we are is what determines what we can dare. You have various specialists in hospitals, they don’t double cross their paths. They can’t toy with human life. So they have experts in each area and you won’t dare that area if you don’t have capacity for it. It is knowing who we are that determines what we can dare. For instance by redemption, we are now seated with Christ in heavenly places far above all principalities and powers. So they don’t scare you if you know this. Far above where witches and wizards operate. That makes you unscareable by whatever harassment may come from the Kingdom of darkness. Church Gist. You are now seated far above all principalities and powers and dominion and every name that is named. Ephesians 2:6, 8. It is not that we paid for it, it is our package in redemption to be seated with Christ in heavenly places. Ephesians 1:20-21. That is what determines how you dare the devil and His agents when they launch an attack on your life. That is what I found when I said how many witches are here? Stand on your feet. Knowing who you are is what determines what we can ever dare.
By redemption we have been translated from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of light. In the kingdom of darkness there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. That is not where you belong anymore. We have now been translated to the Kingdom of laughter. He that sitteth in heaven shall laugh. Laughter is now your portion, not weeping and gnashing of teeth. So when you begin to weep over things, you are descending from where you are seated. You are descended back to that Kingdom of darkness where there is torture and torment. Philippians 4:4. Church Gist. His ministry was under attack and he said “yet I will rejoice. Ye I will rejoice”. He said “They preached to add affliction to my affliction but I will rejoice.” I am smarter than them, I will rejoice. Philippians 1:16-18. Stop descending from where you are seated. Get smarter than the devil.
We had gruesome attacks against our church in Kaduna. No response, no defense, no attack. Ye! I will rejoice. I am on course. I am doing the will of the Father. I am in the centre of God’s will. You didn’t send me, He sent me. I am saying what He said I should say and He is backing it up with signs and wonders day and night. Church Gist. I curse the spirit of depression over anyone’s life. You don’t have a spare, therefore rejoice. If you miss His presence you become vulnerable. In His presence there must be fullness of joy, not religious joy. Psalm 16:11. Romans 8:31.
- By redemption I am now ordained an overcomer
1 John 5:4. I am a child of God, I am born an overcomer. Things are not permitted to overcome me, I am born a child of God. That means your battles are won before they begin. You have been declared the winner before the contest. Jesus who for the joy that was set before Him… He saw the end. The end of every battle is your declaration as an overcomer. The end of every war is your declaration as an overcomer. So you are not struggling to overcome, you have already overcome. You are engaging in the fight with the overcomer’s mentality. Some aggrieved people in those days when the devil was fighting against our possessing this land. Church Gist. You know in every man’s promised land there are giants. So they got two of our buses burnt on that road. We were going home after service, my wife said where do we go through? I said right there. We are going through there. I told the driver if he sees anybody on the road, crush him. Overcomer’s mentality keeps you winning. I know nobody will stay on the road if they know I am coming. They know I know. The powers of darkness know those who carry light. You can’t carry light and darkness is saying where are you going. So it is time to recognize who we are and begin to walk in the light of it. A torchlight has no value in the night if you keep it in your bag. You will still be stumbling. Many people have the light and they can’t walk in it. The slightest thing they are scared. No! Soldiers don’t cry in the warfront. You are alert. You are hearing the gunshots but you went there to win. Not that you hear gunshots and you start crying “My mother! My mother!”. You know your mother, why did you leave home?
We are looking at unlocking the supernatural by the power of faith today. It is by the power of faith that we command the supernatural. Faith puts believers in command of the supernatural. Mark 9:23. John 14:12. Church Gist. We have to build our faith capacity into the fullness of the stature of Christ to operate in that realm. We are building, no one is there yet but we have to keep going forward. How long will you be on the same spot of revelation? Same spot of faith? Still crying over the things you were crying over ten years ago.
Hebrews 11 is full of what we call the heroes of faith – people who by faith commanded the supernatural naturally through faith. Hebrews 11:7. By faith Moses went back to where he was a wanted man and dominated the place – Hebrews 11:29. Hebrews 11:33-34.
Now, what does faith do?
- It invokes the power of God into manifestation. Luke 8:47-48. So faith draws on the power of the omnipotent God. Mark 9:23. You’re drawing on the power of the Omnipotent God to deliver what is beyond human skill, ability, connection, power, to make happen.
- It also provokes the stretching forth of the hand of God that doeth valiantly. Isaiah 53:1. So it invokes the hand of God into manifestation. The hand of God that doeth valiantly, never returns defeated from battle. Deuteronomy 26:8. You can’t lose a battle with the hand of God at work. John 14:10; Mark 16:20 – that’s why our level of command of the supernatural is defined by our level of faith, defined by the level of faith at work in us.
Hear what this supernatural Apostle said, Acts 24:14. So Paul could now say, I can do all things because I believe all things – Philippians 4:13. So it’s the level of faith at work in us that determines what gets done through our hands. You saw Paul the Apostle – Acts 14:11; Acts 19:11-12, 14-15. John 14:12. He was bitten by venomous viper and he shook it into the fire and he felt no harm. They looked at him to fall, he didn’t fall – they changed their mind. Acts 28:3-5. So it is how much faith that comes alive in us that determines our level of command of the supernatural.
As you all know, whatever the Word says is the truth but only what we believe is performed in our lives. Luke 1:45; Luke 1:34-35. So the how of God is the power of God. So when faith comes alive, the power of God goes into motion. Luke 1:34-35. So faith provokes the power of God and when we believe, God’s power is provoked to bring to pass what he says – that’s the Word and that’s why, as far as we can see and believe, unto us it shall be given. To see there is not physical sight, it’s revelation. Church Gist. Ephesians 1:17-18. It’s spiritual understanding that we call sight. Ephesians 3:8-9. So whatever you are able to see from Genesis to Malachi, Genesis 13:14-15, and I tried to explain it the other time, I said:
The North is Genesis – that’s where God came from – the side of the North
The South is Malachi – that’s where the first covenant ends.
The East is Matthew – where the Sun rises.
The West is Revelation – where the Sun sets – all that you can see is all available. You can’t see it and doubt it. The problem is people can’t see it so they think anybody telling them is deceiving them.
- I pray tonight that by this Communion, everybody’s spiritual eyes shall be open! … because that’s what defines the events of our lives.
How much we are able to see, we will naturally believe. What you believe, God will supernaturally confirm. So, it’s to see it first! Sir, I saw my way to the top when I was far below sea level – I saw it. I saw it from Deuteronomy 28:1. He said, “hey my son there’s a place for on top if you’re interested.” Church Gist. I said, I am. “Then whatever he tells you to do, do it.” I saw that live – April 1984. Church was under 30 – I saw that. That’s why I say, I am not surprised at where we are – I saw it and I saw what will take you there – whatever I tell you to do, do it. It’s being able to see – these things are there!
- In the precious name of Jesus, I decree eye opening miracle for everyone in this service.
So it has nothing to do with the circumstances or situations around at all at all. His ways are higher than our ways, his thoughts than our thoughts. Isaiah 55:8; Isaiah 14:24. Church Gist. “By myself have I sworn…” so every light of Scriptures is a sworn verdict for those who care to believe as they see it.
Very important please listen to me: it is by the Word of our mouth that we command the supernatural because our words are seeds just like God’s Word. Luke 8:11. …and what you sow is what you reap. No one ever commands the supernatural with closed mouth. “You know I have to be careful the way I talk, can’t talk like Papa.” Then you can’t see what Papa sees. Jesus – a sign to the world – he had to command signs by words. The second miracle of Jesus – John 4:49-54. Church Gist. He had to say it before it can happen. What you can’t say, you won’t see. “Oh the Country is bad, nobody can make anything out of this Country.” That’s what you will be seeing. “I don’t think anything can change here o, I tell you the truth, I’m trying to run away.” That’s what you will be doing – you will be running from pillar to post. If you go to where you are going and you’re still talking like that, nothing will work. It’s good to learn the skill of walking with Jesus. Matthew 8:8-13; John 11:43-44 – so he went free after 4 days in the grave.
It’s impossible to command the supernatural with closed mouth. Jesus, the most anointed that ever walked the planet Earth said, “He was brought to judgement, yet He opened not His mouth” – because it was the way to go, He was on the way there. There is no closed mouth that can command the supernatural. Isaiah 53:7…but if you get down to John 18 when they came against Him “whom seek ye?” – ‘Jesus’ and they fell backward. Church Gist. He had all the power but “I have not come to do my will but thine will, O God.”Nobody could have taken His life from Him. He said to Pilate “you will have no power over me. If I manifest now, you will be smelling.”
You can’t command the supernatural with “I can’t say I’m healed when I’m not healed. I want to be true to myself.” satan says, “yes, you are a very true man. Just be true. Be true abeg.” Before I saw money, I had already declared, “I can never be poor.” Before I tasted marriage, I had declared, “set for hitch free marriage.” What are your declarations? Church Gist. Have you ever declared anything that you stood with? We are not redeemed as robots. We have the facts of Scriptures to live a fulfilled life.
We have the examples of the Apostles. For instance, “silver or gold, have I none. In the name of Jesus, rise up and walk.” They had to speak before they could see. Whatever is too big for your mouth will be too big for your hand. Church Gist. We have to open our mouth wide to see God in action. Acts 9:34. Declarations will always precede manifestations.
Closed mouth, closed destiny. Acts 9:40. “Tabitha, arise” not that he just prayed. You pray, you don’t say, nothing will happen. What you say is the conclusion of your prayer. Church Gist. You can pray right now like a praying mountain, you are sweating all over and then you came and say “I’m still sick.” You shall have whatsoever you say not what you pray, what you say.
You can preach fire and brimstone and go back home and be depressed. It doesn’t matter. “Things are not working, let’s be sincere. God, why are things not working for me?” The man who had just preached now is now depressed. Acts 14:3…not just speaking, speaking boldly. You hear me say, “one billion w1tches can’t stand on my way and they know.” God says, you got it. We got to a place and I said, “if it rains here tomorrow, this land will not know rain again.” Church Gist. We got to the stadium, the cloud was heavy but no drop can drop. They began to praise the name of the Lord, one blind eye opened. We have not started preaching. I declared boldly last night, God confirmed it openly the following night. You better stand up.
Without strength of heart, you can’t command the spiritual. Not bold face, lion heart which comes out of insight. “We came to this place not to come and play. Church Gist. We came to harvest souls into the Kingdom and who are you rain? Where are you coming from? Acts 14:10…loud voice! It’s time to shout down the things harassing your life.
We must therefore, open our mouth wide or the enemy will continue to prevail. Psalm 81:10-14, Daniel 3:16-18…God said, “oboy, you got it.” Fiery furnace, nonsense! Their faith that commited in bold declarations brought that once in a generation kind of miracle. It’s time to build strength that will make you make strong declarations. Church Gist. If you look at the lion, it’s the strongest among beast and when it roars, it goes kilometers. It’s the same mouth but the strength of its being, amplified it. Strength in its being amplified its voice – kilometers away. It’s time to build strength.
Please note, our victory as believers lies in our tongue. Luke 21:15…They can’t say that because your bold declaration provokes the force of Heaven into manifestations. We must therefore be cautious of what comes out of our lips. They go to determine the events of our life. Somebody asked me, he said “when your wife was under that severe attack of the spirit of death, did you ever imagine that she died?” No! Church Gist. There was no space. Let the Word of God richly dwell in your heart. There was no space! Be cautious of what comes out of your lips. They determine the events of your life. Proverbs 18:21. Success and failure are in the power of the tongue. Abundance and lack are in the power of the tongue.
So no matter what you do, if you say something negative, He cancels it. You find a believer saying, who’s a tither and a giver? There is nothing, nothing in heaven and on earth. As you are looking at me, there is nothing. I have nothing both in Heaven and on earth. ‘Una well-done.’ So it becomes nothing. In our home what we have them say is plenty. “Can I have some cucumbers?” It’s plenty; it means more supplies. Church Gist. But that it’s finished. No! The day you start saying it’s furnished, you finish, you go. Don’t bring lack to this place. Ecclesiastes 5:6. Be careful what you say. Be careful! “No one can build a house now except he’s a thief. Okay, go and steal.” “Anybody you see smiling now, he’s faking it. Nobody can smile in this country today, be sorrowful.” You see, you just make statements you don’t know how injurious they are to your life.
- May the discipline of Christ be released to our lives tonight through this Communion table in the name of Jesus.”
We must be careful therefore what we say. In conclusion, faith not expressed in words can never command proofs. Because the seed of the word we speak is what confirms to harvest of signs and wonders. Every word you and I speak is a seed. Genesis 8:22. So the words we speak are seeds and they are confirmed into harvest of signs and wonders. Church Gist. Therefore, be cautious what you speak. They asked that woman, “is it well with your child?” It is well. The child was dead. Why are you going to the man of God? It shall be well. You find that woman in Chapter 4, saying it is well, it shall be well and it became well.
It’s time to give expression to our faith in words without a doubt in the heart. Mark 11:23. Now what makes you not to doubt is the clarity of what you have seen. Acts 4:20. You can’t doubt a thing you see under any torture. You can’t! Church Gist. That’s what happens. Acts 14:3. It’s time to build strength on our inside that will make us make declarations without a shaking in the heart and by so doing, we have committed God to confirm it. Romans 10:17,10. It’s what we declare that turns what we have discovered into manifestation.
- The good news is, no matter the heat on this Earth, it will not reach you!
- The same way God exempted your from coronavirus, no matter the heat from hell on this Earth, it will be minus you!
So it’s time to build your faith by building strength in the Word. Faith has no other way to come except by the Word. That’s why that littles boy, age 4; page 20 on Sunday, on Wednesday, SS turned AA. Free for life. He would have carried that all his life. The Holy Ghost was involved “boy, get that book. Let them be reading to you now as you are going home.” Now, nobody needs to read for you. You can read for yourself. Thank you Jesus!
