God has continued to confirm His Word in our midst year in, year out, 45 years running. Christian Elijah left home at 9, for 37 years. That means he is 46. Wasted life until Jesus caught up with him. He gave his life to Christ during Operation Push – June 27th, and was in church last Sunday. Jesus cleaned him up. The Lord said something peculiar about this operation is to go to the ghettos. There is no prophetic word that is sent to impress you but to impact you. Church Gist. They are waiting. Out of 4, he came out. You know God said some fell on the wayside, some among thorns but some on good ground. Minimum one quarter is guaranteed by God. You reach out to four, one must respond. You reach out to 16, 4 must respond. If that is the only reason midst of the year is on, we give glory to God that somebody has escaped been raped, somebody has escaped been killed. He won’t tell all the stories here. Terrible life! Sleeping on the rail.
Any prophetic word you don’t take heed to will never be fulfilled in your life. He said take heed then your light will shine and your star will rise. You take heed to it. There is no investment in the Kingdom that is wasted, every genuine investment has minimum 10,000 per cent return on investment. Church Gist. You can ask me that, I have been in it for a long time. This God does not cheat on people. He that reaps receives wages and gathers fruit onto life eternal (John 4:36). Far more in kind than in cash and those in kind, money cannot buy. In the name of Jesus, you won’t watch this season leave you behind.
You are here this morning to be blessed.
– Every closed door against your life shall be opened
– Every open door in your life shall open wider.
– No one is returning from this service the same way he came and that includes you.
God is not a joker, He means what He says and says what He means. Every idle word that a man will speak, he will give account of it. God doesn’t speak idle words. He named this year New Era, Christian Elijah has encountered a new era package. See the way he stood up as if he has been in church all his life. Church Gist. He has been in the cult, all kinds of vices and Jesus just came and opened a new chapter, how much more you and I that are here.
– Your new era is guaranteed.
– Something is breaking forth this time that you never thought of before.
That man said he engaged in eight weeks of intensive prayers and got six jobs all on a row. The age long siege was over. Church Gist. Miracles are not happenstance, they are the deliberate acts of God in response to the faith of men. Wake up and take responsibility.
We begin our teaching series today for our Sunday services in the month of July and it is captioned UNVEILING THE BREAKTHROUGH POWER OF LOVE. Remember the prophetic focus is I AM REDEEMED FOR THE TOP. You are a city set on a hill that cannot be hidden. Every child of God is redeemed for the top. Church Gist. He came to raise the poor out of the dunghill and make us sit among princes of his people. Psalm 113:5-8. Jesus became poor that we through His poverty might be made rich (2 Corinthians 8:9). He came down to take us up. You are going up. One of the vital forces that establishes our access to the top is genuine love for God.
The anchor scripture for this teaching series is 1 Corinthians 2:9. Record breaking things. Like in the ministry of Jesus, “we have never seen it in this fashion” (Mark 2:12). Things never seen are things that will start happening in our lives. Black teeth cleaned up, diseases wiped off, after living a very rough life, Jesus came in and said “Enough!”. You have been in the bottom enough, it is your turn to get to the top. Luke 5:26. Church Gist. So we are to be marvelled at by the positive happening in our lives. 1 Peter 2:9. We are to be marvelled at and from today, anything that looks like shame and reproach in your life shall be wiped off. Christian Elijah said “I was saying Amen! Amen! As I was saying it, things were happening in my body.” This proclamations are not to impress you but to impact you. You are returning from here impacted.
By way of introduction, genuine love for God is the mystery behind supernatural breakthroughs in life. Romans 8:28. All things, not most things. Church Gist. There’s no other platform under Heaven that guarantees all things working together for good but Jesus. Matthew 11:28. We saw how Abraham, a friend of God, emerged a business emperor and we know that love is the core of friendship. Church Gist. Jesus went to the cross, among others, to save our soul first but to bring us into the blessing of Abraham. That’s how loud that blessing was in his life. He was the Heaven’s recognized symbol of blessing in the earth. He was a friend of God.
-May each one’s friendship with Jesus be established here today!
Isaiah 41:8. We cannot befriend Him and not reflect Him. He’s the Most High God, you can’t befriend Him and remain a most low friend. Church Gist. But the anchor proof of our love for God is delightsome obedience to His instructions. Our love for God is not theoretical. John 14:21. 1 John 5:3. That Agent of salvation went Saturday evening to capture this individual from the den, he said, “I was in my den”, he went to the den to capture him, maybe after WSF. Church Gist. Some are lying up around the beach waiting to dive into it and be carried away. His commandments are not grievous if you’re interested.
Psalm 112:1. That’s love, great delight. Whatever God says soothes you, it’s tasty to you, it’s refreshing to you, it’s enjoyable to you. Psalm 112:2-4. So, the breakthrough that love engenders is generational, it doesn’t stop with you. Church Gist. It goes on upon children, upon your children’s children and their generations. Thank you Jesus.
What then is love? In our context, love implies a God-first lifestyle. Matthew 22:36-40. God before anybody else, God before myself, God before yourself – a God-first lifestyle. Matthew 6:33. Church Gist. His commandments are not grievous, He won’t tell you and me to do what He has not enabled us to do. It’s only our choice to determine what we do and what we won’t do. A God-first lifestyle for your benefit and my benefit. Church Gist. The first and great commandment – Matthew 22:37. What does it mean? Matthew 6:33.
Also, we heard Christ say, “Do you love me? Then keep my commandments”. What is love? Keeping His commandments. John 14:21. “Do you really love me? Serve my Interest on the earth”. Church Gist. God’s greatest interest in this earth today is salvation of souls. As far as God is concerned, a saved soul is worth much more than all the wealth of the world put together. Matthew 16:26. Luke 15:7. Church Gist. So, when we choose to partner with Him in that, you enjoy His favour without calling for it.
Now, let’s look at some characteristics of love.
1. Love is not a gift, love is a choice. Exodus 32:26. Joshua 24:15. Love is not a gift, love is a choice.
2. Love is not a calling, love is a decision. John 21:15-17. It’s a decision.
3. Love is not an endowment, it’s a commandment. Matthew 22:36-38.
4. Love is not what we know, quote or teach, love is what we do. 1 John 3:16-18. Love is what we do. 2 Corinthians 8:8. Church Gist. That is giving a way of proving the sincerity of our love. Obedience to whatever He commands is your proving the sincerity of your love. It’s what we do, not what you teach.
5. Love is not a state, love is a lifestyle. 1 John 4:21. Church Gist. So, it’s a continuous thing, it’s not something that we do in a particular season, it’s a lifestyle.
6. Genuine love for God is unquenchable. Songs of Solomon 8:6-7. What you love, you love. Church Gist. When God’s love is genuine in your heart, no circumstance of life can quench it. No situation of life can quench it. No! Job said: “Even if He slays me, I will yet trust Him. It can’t quench it.”
7. Love is not just as strong as death, love is stronger than death.
And so you have the three Hebrew boys. Daniel 3:16-18. Church Gist. Love is stronger than death. Romans 8:35-37. Love is stronger than death. 2 Corinthians 1:12.
8. Love is of the heart not of the face or words. Isaiah 29:13. John 5:42. Jeremiah 17:9-10. 1 Corinthians 8:3. There is no abracadabra there. Church Gist. If you love Him, He knows. He knows those who love Him. Anybody may think you love God, God knows those who love Him.
-And you’re the one God is talking about. It will be clear that God knows that you genuinely love Him. You’re leaving this Service with that identity in your life. Thank You Jesus!
9. Genuine love is never offended in God.
Job 13:15. Matthew 11:6.
-You’re entering the new realms of blessings.
Every time you start accusing God for your situation, you’re offended.
10. There is no fear in love.
When God’s love comes alive in you, fear vanishes. Psalms 23:4. The love of God is the cure for all fears. Church Gist. When God’s love is settled in you, fear takes off. Psalm 27:1-3. That is, where you have a heart for God, those things that make others fear don’t touch you, can’t reach you.
-Somebody is blessed.
There is no fear in love, fear is highly tormenting. 1 John 4:18. Behind every defeat in battle is fear. The things you fear are the things that befall you but when God’s love is seated in your heart, fear packs out. Light and darkness cannot coexist in a place. Church Gist. God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 1 John 4:16. So where will fear hang? 1 Samuel 17:34. It’s an example of fearlessness. He said this Man called Goliath will fall down today like one of them and God honoured his word. Can I hear your Amen?
-I curse the hold of fear in anyone’s life today.
Because nature abhors vacuum. Without the love of God, fear will reign.
-Therefore, receive grace to embrace the love of God as a lifestyle.
11. Love engenders favour.
Genesis 39:6. God gave Joseph favour. What? “I fear God.” The word: ‘fear God’ and ‘love God’; they are the same. Genesis 42:18. And you saw the love for God exuding from him to his brethren who sold him into slavery. Church Gist. It’s a clear interpretation of the fear of God in the Old Testament and love (for God). You see that kind of love, he didn’t say: “Ah! Now, you’re in my hand, I will fry you.” No! Well favoured! Now, we saw this Man also, called Daniel. Daniel 1:9. He was correct and He brought him into favour. He will not defile himself with the King’s rich food? He brought him into favour.
-You are stepping into favour.
God’s love engenders access to the realms of supernatural favour.
-You are walking in there.
12. Genuine love is manifested through a right attitude towards God.
Romans 3:4. Attitudes such as: “God is always right, God is never to blame, God is not my problem, He’s my solution; if anything goes on with me, I must be responsible. Church Gist. Whatever God cannot do, let it remain undone, I’m going nowhere else. Right attitude towards God. Right attitude! You have been offended in God long ago, nothing is changing. It’s only going worse, come out of it.
What is in love that engenders breakthroughs?
When a believer is truly in love, he is in God and God is in him which makes him a breakthrough personality on the Earth. Psalms 24:7-10. Church Gist. No door can be shut against the King of Glory and where you are in love, you are in God and God is in God. So when you’re approaching any gate, it is God that the gate sees and lifts up his head.
-So every closed door against your destiny must open today.
Now, love is wearing God as your clothing and when you step into any electronic door, it opens on its own. So when God steps in, the gates open on their own accord. Church Gist. Israel came out of Egypt and got to the Red Sea and God was in the midst of them. Psalms 114:3.
– I therefore command and decree, every closed door by the wicked against your life is declared open today. You’ll never get stranded. Church Gist. As you stay in love, impossible doors will keep opening on their own accord to you. For if God be for us, who can be against us?
13. All true lovers are sold out servants of God and they command supernatural breakthrough naturally. Mark 3:14, Mark 10:28-30…hundredfold means 100 by 100 – ten thousand percent returns on your investment. Supernatural breakthrough naturally, you are not struggling. Church Gist. He’s just doing it because you are responding to His commandment. May I say this to you? This is the key to your full blown New Era package. Don’t miss the opportunity for this month at all. Walk your way into it.
– Somebody is changing level!
Also, we understand from Scriptures that every true lover of God is ordained a pathfinder, a pacesetter and a trailblazer. 1 Corinthians 2:9.
Any believer therefore who cares to stay in love with God will end up a living wonder on the Earth as we saw in the examples of Abraham, David, Elijah, Peter (and) Paul. Hebrews 6:12. Find those footprints, find out what they did; connect with it in faith. Church Gist. You find it in the Word of God, go ahead. Jeremiah 6:16…That’s not you, you will walk there in Jesus name!
Proofs Of True Love
1. When one is in love with God, he will be committed to the study of His Word. You can’t love Him and not love to hear from Him. Psalm 119:97-100, Psalm 119:162. Church Gist. You can’t be in love with God and not be in love with His Word.
2. Not just the study of the Word but the practice of His Word. Luke 6:46, John 2:5. Church Gist. The benefit of revelation is in its application. James 1:22-25.
Two Examples of Love-Made Breakthrough Personalities In Scriptures
– You are emerging the next one!
– Your name will get on that list!
– The breakthrough personalities of this age, your name will be there!
Don’t allow where you are now to destroy your access to what God has in stock. Don’t! Genesis 13:14-15. Church Gist. Most of us have been held up captives by where we are (our present circumstances) and we remove our names from those things when God speaks. Don’t!
1. David became one because he was a man with a heart for God. The secrets of men are in their stories. He was a man with a heart for God. There is no charge against him that he tries to dodge and explain away. David said, “I’m the one who has sinned, what has these other ones done? Please, kill me.” Church Gist. What a generational blessing that came upon him? You heard him (Blind Bartimeus) say, “Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.” You hear Jesus in Heaven speaking to John the Beloved, “weep not, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David has prevailed to open the book.” Revelation 3:7-8. The name went from the Earth to Heaven.
– There are many like that today!
– With an unfettered love for God, you are going places!
Jesus came through the lineage of David. Too much! You are going places! Let your love be unconditional from today, unreserved love and you will see God changing your story from level to level in Jesus name!
2. Peter, he left all and followed Him. Luke 5:1-11. Watch first: a frustrated fisherman – Jesus entered into his boat and said, “push a little into the water.” At what cost? Nothing! Tired and weary – let’s go. After that, Jesus saw that he was not complaining, he was excited about it, He said, “now let me show you something – launch out into the deep for a draught” and then he enclosed a great multitude of fishes. Church Gist. They beckoned on others to come and help them, the nets were breaking (and) the two boats were sinking. (Peter exclaimed) “Ah, I’m a sinner.” He said, “from henceforth, I will make you a fisher of men.” He abandoned the father, abandoned the boat, abandoned the net and followed. So he could say, “we have left all and follow thee.” He left all! Peter is still speaking today.
Now, watch; when Christ was talking about His going to the cross, Peter said, “look, all men may deny you but I will never deny you.” Matthew 26:31-35…they just chorused it. Matthew 26:56,58. Peter! All the others fled, everybody to his heels. They ran for cover. Peter followed to see the end. You say, he denied Jesus, where were the others? And when the cock crowed, he wept bitterly “oh my God, what happened to me?” Church Gist. He said, “okay, that’s just to show you the weakness of the human element; you are still the Rock.” And he stood like the Rock on the Day of Pentecost. Peter set the pace for all that we are talking about today after Christ. Why? Unfettered love, unconditional love, an all-out love for Jesus.
– There are several other Peters here today whose footprints will keep speaking on the sand of time!
It’s our Covenant Day of Open Doors. The doors are opened! Obedience of faith is gateway to a world of open doors. Deuteronomy 28:1-2…open doors! Church Gist. Walking in the light of Scripture is a highway to our glorious destiny in life. Isaiah 60:1-3; 8; 22. You are going places! Church Gist. Walking in the light of Scriptures secures a life of open doors, unlimited doors, doors that cannot be shut.
Doing whatever God tells us to do will open any seeming impossible door in our lives. Whatever He tells you to do, do it and then we will see the miracle. Church Gist. John 9:1-8. Let’s recognize that whatever door Jesus opens, no gang up of hell can shut.
– He opens that door to you today and no wickedness of the wicked shall shut it.
Revelation 3:7-8. You stand in that position, no door can be shut against you. You don’t deny His name, no door can be shut against you. Church Gist. You are coming from Church and they say, “where are you coming
from?” And you say “from somewhere.” You are denying His Name. You are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you. Revelation 3:7-8. That is the kind of door that is opening to you today. It will never be shut. But it comes by keeping His Word and not denying His Name.
If you don’t have the key to a door, you will be struggling. The key to an open door is keeping His Word and not denying His Name. You have a little strength but you have kept My Word and not denied My Name. Church Gist. I have set before you an open door and no man can shut it.
The Lord said to me in 1984, 41 years now, from that Deuteronomy 28:1. My son, there is a place for you on top if you are interested. I said, “Lord I am.” He said, “Then whatever I tell you to do, do it.” There is a place on top for us by redemption. But there is no shortcut to getting there, but by doing whatever He tells us to do. It is the only way to get there. There is a place for you and I on top. He said, if you are interested. He doesn’t force His blessing on people. If you are interested.
There is no door that does not require a key, the key to an open door is doing whatever He commands you to do from His Word. Church Gist. Somebody’s story is changing. For instance, Psalm 84:7. You want to grow from strength to strength, you better get hooked into Church. Appear in His presence day and night. You find yourself growing from strength to strength. Glory to God.
You don’t want to be ashamed, you better sit down and study the Word. 2 Timothy 2:15. You have the right word against anything that is coming against you. You have the right word, so you pull it out. Praise God. You pull it out and land it on the devil and go your way. Can I hear your Amen. Somebody’s story is changing.
For instance, I heard Him say to me, “My son David, my prosperity plan is not a promise so it doesn’t answer to prayer.” Don’t break your head praying for prosperity. Church Gist. It has no respect for fasting. My prosperity plan is a covenant and until your part is played, I am not committed. What is the Covenant? Seed time and harvest shall not seize. How reliable? Except the day and night stop and change position, my Covenant is in place. I screamed, “Ye! I can never be poor.” And 43 years ago, I signed up. You can’t stop it.
All these off and on things, it won’t work. I stepped into it hook, line and sinker. It is working like fire. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God is a commandment. I bought into it fully. It will be 50 years next year and all these things, I didn’t have to struggle for anything of value in my life. I didn’t have to. Because God never lies. Church Gist. You have a little strength but you have kept my Word. Revelations 3:8.
I was having some nice time with the Holy Ghost and let me say this to you, He said, “You are not made by people following you, you are made by whom you are following.” Follow me my son and I will make you fishers of men. It is following Jesus that makes men. Please make up your mind. There is not one decision in this Church that came out of deliberation. It is ‘thus sayeth the Lord.’ This is the place. You subject yourself to deliberation, you won’t do it. Arise and get down to Lagos. No discussion. Church Gist. It is who you follow that defines your making. Not those who are following you. Sir, I already got into prosperity before I became a Pastor of a Church. So it is not dependent on Church membership.
I was called into ministry when I bought into Matthew 6:33. It is not a calling, it is a commandment. Glory to God. Somebody’s story is changing. Can I tell you something. You cannot be slothful to get what they got. Hebrews 6:12. Can you imagine someone waiting, I know I will be saved one day. If you won’t repent, you won’t be saved till you go to the other side. You have to repent. Nobody can do that on your behalf. They can’t pray salvation over your life, you have to repent. In the same way, you can’t experience what the giants had without following the steps of giants.
God is more than enough to service your needs till you go to heaven. Church Gist. That man went into intensive prayer for Kingdom Advancement Endeavors and He got 6 jobs on the line. Not from the uncle, not from cousin, not from nephew. Not from Service unit leader. Got it from God! Something will happen in your life. No man can succeed to take you to where God wants to take you to, no man can. No one has capacity for it, you are going places.
– In the Name of Jesus, this season will not leave you where it met you. Something dramatic will take place in your life.
That is the key to open doors. Keep His Word, don’t deny His Name. Psalm 119:46. Church Gist. If you are ashamed of me in this world, I will be ashamed of you before My Father and His angels. Psalm 119:46. Mark 8:38. Don’t deny His Name.
What must you do to enjoy open doors in the journey of life.
1. Be born again and remain so.
You will keep overcoming. When you arrive there, the doors open. 1 John 5:4. Don’t assume salvation, experience it.
2. Keep walking in the fear of God like Joseph did.
As a lifestyle, utmost delight in keeping His commandments.
3. Stay in love with God and all things will keep working together for your good.
All doors will be opening to you on their own accord.
4. Lay hold on the right Word concerning the doors you desire to see open. Lay hold on the right word. How forcible are right words. It is not just by saying it is written. Job 6:25.
5. Enter into covenant to keep serving God and the interest of His kingdom as a lifestyle.
You find rest roundabout. No door will succeed being shut against you as you enter into that covenant and not only that, you will keep renewing that covenant.
Matthew 6:33. There are many high fliers in this church today, who have been trading Matthew 6:33 as a lifestyle. You will be added to the list. You shall be added to the list. Good news, the doors are open. The doors to your glorious tomorrow are open. The doors to your glorious future are open in the Name of Jesus. Lift up your right hand and give God thanks.
