Salvation Ministries is ending the year well, every scripture you believe God will confirm, you will end the year well with a testimony, the $10 we paid for the property is just for Legal purpose, they actually said $1 but we said let us do $10, because there has to be a transfer of funds for legal purpose, what is $10, can you use $10 for something, not $10,000 I mean $10 just to fulfill all righteousness, the property was not here but far away in United States of America. ChurchGist. This can only be God, the truth is I have never been to Alabama and also the funny thing is that the people also I have never met them, this is the first time, I have met Billy Graham people before but not these people, all the Glory must go to God, no man on earth should give glory to himself, all the glory must be to go, somebody who is in this first service, before this year ends you will have your own global testimony. Somebody in this service you will have your global testimony before this year ends, if you’re that person let your amen confirm it, you will have your own global testimony in the name of Jesus and so shall it be in Jesus mighty name.
Father speak to us through your word in this first service, let everyone have an encounter through your word, in Jesus name. Give him a big hand you may be seated. ChurchGist. Today is a special thanksgiving service, God specifically told us to thank him before the year runs out.
TOPIC: WE ARE GRATEFUL TO GOD (1)
PSALM 92:1-2, So it is a bad thing not to thank God, Psalm 105:1-2, what we have done this morning is scriptural, so we have just shown you what God has done, we have talked about what God has done. Psalm 103:1-5, you know God can bless you and you forget, I wanted to share this testimony before during Glory Reign but I said no, before then God will do more things. ChurchGist. Because any testimony delayed is a miracle denied, because the more you delay your testimony the more you may deny yourself of more miracles, the Word of God says go and show yourself to the priest and go and tell the world what I have done for you, it didn’t say delay it till later. You slept and woke up; it is the Lord that sustained you.
There are those who slept more healthy last night and they did not wake up this morning, it is not your alarm that woke you up, it is God that woke you up, if alarm wakes people, then use alarm in the mortuary, it is not alarm that woke you up, it is God that woke you up. ChurchGist. We must not forget the benefit of God, we must respond to his benefit with gratitude, we cannot take his benefit for granted. Malachi 2:1-3, God says even if you give me offering and you don’t give me thanks it is a useless offering, anywhere you go nobody will look at your face and ever admire you if you don’t thank God you will look very WOWORISM, You can’t find that in the English dictionary, that means when somebody is ugly then he is WOWORISM, some people are saying what kind of English is that, was Facebook in English before, now you have Facebook, was there Facebook twenty years ago? was there any twitter before? But now it’s in your dictionary, so WOWORISM is simply wowo and wowo is someone who does not carry glory, so that is the English for today, don’t speak it where your children are.
Our thanksgiving today and for this year is what will pave the way for better and greater things in the years ahead, the grateful soul will always win God’s attention. ChurchGist. We must not take God’s goodness for granted, a song writer says count your blessings name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done. You may say what has God done for me this year? Refuse to be offended, the greatest hour of offense is when things are against you, when things seem they are not working the way you expect them to, that is when you know whether you are a thanks giver, that is when you see people rumbling, you know John the Baptist was a victim of this. ChurchGist. When you believe that somethings should have happened, you need to understand that it has not happened because God wants to give you something bigger.
The man at the beautiful gate was asking for alms but God said this is not what I want to give you, I want to give you permanent solution. ChurchGist. Maybe you’re angry because you wanted to marry this year and God says if you marry the person you want to marry, the two of you will not end well and he wants to give you a lasting husband and you’re murmuring because that husband is what is in your eyes. NO! God does not make mistakes. Matthew 11:1-6, John the Baptist was offended while he was in prison, you remember it was John who said this is the Lamb of the world who came to take the sin of the world and then he asked a very stupid question, the same John, he said art thou the coming one, are you sure you are the one, when offence come that is when you will say God are you still on the throne. ChurchGist. If you’re God, why have I suffered like this since this year started, if you’re still God why have I not been able to pay school fees, he is still God.
Okay, if with God you have not paid school fees without him what will now happen, if with God you’re murmuring saying I have not paid school fees then you get angry, this time it will be worse, your landlord will be inclusive. ChurchGist. Jesus answered John and said unto them go and show John again that which ye do hear and see, the blind receives their sight, the lame walks, the lepers are cleanse and the deaf hears, the dead are raised up and the poor has the gospel preached to them and blessed is he whosoever that shall not be offended. John was offended and you know what happened to him, you know how he ended.
Offenses can bring untimely death, that will not be your portion, if you keep malice with God who will help you. ChurchGist. Ingratitude is dangerous, God is ever faithful, that you’re alive please thank God, gratitude is the only way up and it is the only way to stay up. God specifically told us to give him thanks, the sermon in this service was supposed to be another topic and then I was in the bathroom when God said NO! NO!! NO!!! Thank me for all I have done this year. ChurchGist. I didn’t even know that this property will be signed on Friday but the moment I agreed and obeyed Heavens opened, your obedience will make the Heaven open to your favour. Thanksgiving is a commandment, you know you can come to church with just your lips and say Father I thank you, I thank you and in your heart you’re saying thank you for what, all my mates have money and I am still broke, this Christmas I have no new shoes, are you looking for new shoes, that you have legs won’t you thank God, what of those who have no legs where will they buy shoes to, you said you won’t thank God because there is no food to eat, that you have stomach won’t you thank God, there are people who don’t have stomach, they pass food to them through pipes and you have stomach that you use to eat three times in a day.
You eat garri in the morning, lolo in the afternoon, starch in the night, cassava in three uniforms, air force, navy and army and you eat all this with no side effects, some of you this is how you eat. ChurchGist. There are some people, they told them thou shall not eat but yours is thou shall eat, thou shall eat, yet you are not thanking God, my friend thank God. They told some people thou shall not eat this, thou shall not eat salt, I said brother, you need to read the Bible well o, so that there will be salt, eating without salt you know how it is, but you’re eating everything available and you’re saying father you’re not good, the Father has been good to you, say God has been good to me, you don’t have a choice in this matter, it is a commandment and commandments are to be obeyed. 1st Thessalonians 5:16, it did not say for everything, it says in everything give thanks. ChurchGist. There is no small thing in the eyes of God, as far as God is concerned in everything, no small thing, it didn’t say for some things, in everything give thanks.
That you woke up thank the Father, you slept thank the Father, you came to church thank the Father, you have three members thank the Father, you have four members thank you, they went for Christmas and came back thank you, you said nobody is in this Church, are you the one that brought them? You said how can I preach a powerful message and there are only three people in church, are you the one that brought them, if you murmur it will remain only you and your wife. ChurchGist. Do you know how this Church grew? One day we came to church it was only me and my wife and the children when this Church started, when we say praise the Lord, you know that kind of thing where only one voice will say amen then the children will say ‘amen’ childishly, I didn’t tell God that I went to Bible School, I still thanked God those children could come because there are places where children don’t go and as we thanked him, we kept growing. ChurchGist. You will keep growing- Hebrews 10: 35-36, if you don’t do his will, the promise will not be fulfilled, that is why Jesus had to say Father I thank you, it was the will then the promise of multiplication was fulfilled.
The reason why many of us pray, pray and pray with no result is because we don’t thank God in prayers even in prayers we protest, oh God I am a sanctuary keeper, from sanctuary keeping I have entered ushering group and I am planning to join the Choir department, father with all this service together and soul winning what are you saying and God says will you force me. ChurchGist. Please, if you want God to confirm his word in your life learn to give him thanks, because if God has nothing to confirm in your Life confusion will continue, that will not be your portion. Our greatness is tied to the level of our gratitude , the depth of our gratitude will determine our altitude, learn to say thank you and we are here to say thank you, if you have nothing thank God, the property you watched; is it not enough to thank God, the $7,000,000 is only insurance not the value of the property, the value of the property is a different price all together, convert it to naira it will go into some billions of Naira, just for insurance and we got it for free, are you the one, did you go to Alabama to kneel down. ChurchGist. Some of you have not even heard Alabama before, in Gbolo where my Parent came from there is a man whose nick name is Alabama city and the man has not traveled to Lagos before, so if your name is Alabama are you the one that bought it. A ministry that does not know us, Central Baptist Church they have never met us, yet, God gave it to us, my friend even for nothing give him thanks, shout hallelujah.
SOME REASONS WHY WE SHOULD BE GRATEFUL TO GOD
1) FOR THE GIFT OF LIFE
You can’t buy life with money, Romans 6-23 – God is the giver of Life, thanksgiving is a debt we owe God if we must live long, let everything that has breath praise the Lord Psalm 150:6, to stay alive you must thank him. ChurchGist. When you’re ungrateful you cut your life span, tell him thank you for the gift of Life, because one thing money cannot buy is Life, you can’t buy life with money, can you buy life with money? If it is so, some people would have bought all and some will die.
I won’t call his name, he was a top politician who was supposed to be the President of Nigeria, he fought and fought to win the election and he won but he didn’t become the President, that man first wife was diagnosed with cancer and he said any amount he will pay for her to live, they told him this is beyond that, money can’t solve this problem, they had the money but they can’t pay for life. ChurchGist. In your own case you slept last night woke up this morning you won’t thank God, you’re talking about work, it is when you’re alive that you will be talking about work, have you seen a dead man going to work? Thank him for the gift of Life, lift your right hand and say Father I thank you for the gift of Life in the name of Jesus.
2) HIS SUPERNATURAL HELP UPON US ALL THROUGH THIS YEAR.
Psalm 121: 1-2, Acts 26:22, God is the only one who has helped us, the more thankful we are, the more of God’s help we enjoy and you will enjoy the help of God, you can’t seek the face of God and men, when you seek his face, don’t seek the face of men, whether they hate you or not you will succeed and when God helps you, forget it you will succeed anywhere in the world, may the help of God answer to someone this morning, shout a better amen.
3) GOD’S HANDS OF PROTECTION AND PRESERVATION
Psalm 121:7, 20:7, many depends on charms and spells as a source of their protection but the one who gave you life and protection is God. ChurchGist. Gratitude to him keeps him in protecting you and God will never allow you to be a victim of evil in the name of Jesus, He will keep his angels charge over you. You travelled and you came back, by road, air, land and sea who saw you through? God, he will keep you alive.
4) THE BLESSINGS IN OUR LIVES.
Genesis 12:2, Galatians 3:29, if God has blessed you then you should give him gratitude, your prosperity is not connected to what you do it is connected to the blessing of the Lord, the blessing of the Lord maketh riches not the oil company where you work, it is the blessing of God that makes one rich. ChurchGist. This Church is blessed and prosperous not because of the money you bring but because of the blessing of God and we are one of the wealthiest churches on earth because of the blessing of God, so we are thanking him is that clear.
The more thankful you’re the more of God’s blessing you enjoy, from today you will never see shame in your life, please give to God what is due him so that he can give to you what is due you. ChurchGist. To enjoy the blessing of God you must be very thankful, avoid murmuring, we murmur a lot, most of us we don’t murmur in church, we do that inside our house, you come to church and sing songs of praise but as soon as you get home, after you lock your door, you say God I want to talk to you, we are alone here now.
You complain over everything, some people if sun shines, they complain, when rain falls, they complain, they complain about everything, you know the Children of Israel were complaining like that and God said since you’re complaining this time you won’t even see food to eat. ChurchGist. Ingratitude is dangerous it robs you of your blessings, some people here, they have never thanked God for anything. I have not seen husband o, all my mates are married, that somebody told you ‘I love you” did you thank God, there are women with more beautiful make up and nobody has ever told them that they love them, not one person with all the make-ups, some of you if your make-up is removed even your children will not know who you are. ChurchGist. Somebody got married and they came to greet me I didn’t recognize the person, I had to stress my eye to recognize the person, the make-up gave her a different look on her wedding Day. Any situation you find yourself tell him thank you, if you think that situation is bad, what if God is not involved it would have been something else.
One day we travelled and our luggage did not follow us, I said thank you Lord that I have money to buy cloth to wear, imagine if you miss your luggage and you don’t have money to buy new ones, you will wear only one cloth for three days, thank him that you have money to buy cloth. ChurchGist. Some people’s luggage missing issue are worse than ours, may you not be poor, you know if you’re poor and your luggage goes missing, your prayer point will increase. Even at my age my luggage did not come and I was worried.
No matter your educational background thank God, regardless of your secondary school, all of you will end up in the same University so thank God. ChurchGist. Don’t say why will my parent send me to a public school. It’s not the school that makes you, it is your personal development, so thank him that you went to school. Are you blessed this morning, has God been good to you?
Now look back and reflect back to 2021, you know most times we don’t take record of what God has done, you can never be thankful until you’re able to look back. ChurchGist. So, look back to what God has done, if you say well you have not been to where you want to but I tell you; you are not where you were, definitely something has shifted. You can’t tell me God has not been good to you.
