Bishop Oyedepo warned all of the danger of the spirit of pride while delivering his Sunday sermon at the Faith Tabernacle Canaanland. He said
“Pride of heart is a major source of curse. In fact, most ‘rise and fall’ in the Body of Christ is traceable to the spirit of pride at work. In 1 Chronicles 21:1, Satan stood against David and provoked him to number Israel. Spirit of pride. Joab told him, “No! It is against the law of the Lord .” David said “I am the king, I will slaughter you now.” Joab went ahead and did it. God sent a word through Prophet Gad. “David you ‘goosed’.” Church Gist. 70,000 people died. That was also the time David’s health began to fail. Satan stood there, not him. What you call self esteem most of the time is just pride in disguise. Complete pride and it shows by going down. You are just going down and down and before you know it, you are out. Many women can’t keep a house – pride! Satan says “Look, I won’t let you enjoy this life. How can that man be telling you what to do? No! You are for women liberation”. Some men can’t keep a home, they are brawling lions. All pride. They wouldn’t know it is Satan. Satan stood against David and provoked him.”
Speaking further he also said “I was bitterly provoked during those seven years of media assault. Silence is a powerful weapon. Silence with goodwill is a powerful weapon. Pride is a spirit, you better get free from it. Pride is a spirit and Satan is behind it. Some can’t be in WSF ( Winners Satellite Fellowship) oh, they are too much. Church Gist. They can’t be. “No!
