Bishop David Oyedepo while teaching on UNDERSTANDING THE MYSTERY OF FINANCIAL FORTUNE IN THE KINGDOM addressed all those who keep arguing about what God wants to use tithe for. His message emphasized the importance of tithing to a believer’s financial fortune. In his own words, “People are still arguing today what is God going to use tithe for. God doesn’t need the tithe. Tithing is an ordinance that ushers you into a world of blessings. The devil is a thief, he comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. So he sets you against every ordinance that is about your liberty, so you can be held bound. You may never come across any believer anywhere in the world who is not a tither and walks in financial fortune. Except the Bible is not true. “Prove me now with your tithes, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” (Malachi 3:10). Church Gist. Please don’t let the spirit of disobedience get a hold on your life. It can hold you bound for life. God does not need your tithe. It is from His blessings upon your life that you are tithing. So He can’t be looking at what He gave you. No matter how smart you are, you may be the brightest preacher in the world, if you are not a tither, you are having fun. You will be under financial tension, you don’t have to. What is at work? The spirit of disobedience.
He also said “Since 1982 till date, I have never asked God to bless me financially. There are things you never have to pray for in your life, you obey into them. You obey into them. There is no one that tithes in faith and with delight and suffers financial misfortune. Church Gist. Don’t make a mistake that the devil likes me, the devil hates me more than he hates you . I am tormenting him every day but why is he so powerless? Darkness is ever powerless before light.”
