WHILE I WAS LECTURING, WHEN I TELL MY COLLEAGUES ABOUT JESUS, SOME RESPOND THAT GOD IS DEAD.
- Pastor E.A. Adeboye
Pastor Adeboye while preaching at the Easter Service on Sunday, shared how during his days as a lecturer in the University, his colleagues, seniors and other high intellectuals with numerous academic achievements were divided into categories as regards their faith. Whenever he approached them to talk about Jesus, many will respond that “God is dead.” Others will say, “Maybe it is true. He created the world because from the little we can see from science, it requires a great intelligence to put all these into position. But at the end of the day, He discovered that what He created was too big for Him, so He might not be dead, but He has lost control.” A few others would try to play it safe by saying, “Well, whether he is dead or not, I don’t know. Whether he has lost control or not, I don’t know but what I know is that He is in heaven minding His own business, I am on earth minding my own business.” Pastor Adeboye further buttressed this point by saying to both the young and old that God is not dead and his assurance lies in the fact that God speaks to Him.
