THE ARK AND HAND OF GOD CATHEDRAL AMONG THE WORLD’S TOP 20 SINGLE BUILDING MEGA CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS ANTICIPATED TO BE COMPLETED IN 2025
This is the list of ongoing mega building projects scheduled to finish in 2025 across the continents of the world. While it’s possible that some may not be completed this year, it’s anticipated that a good number would be finished. Five of these projects are from Africa and notable among them are mega Church projects, including the Ark project of the Bishop David Oyedepo-led Living Faith Church and the Hand of God Cathedral of Pastor David Ibiyeomie-led Salvation Ministries. The Lagos Arena is also included. From Church Gist research, most of these structures being built around the world are skyscrapers while Nigeria has more auditoriums for the purpose of taking in large crowds in a conducive environment especially for worship.
Caveat: The costs of all the projects as listed are not officially stated by the owners of the projects but simply Church Gist painstaking research estimates. A few have been witheld.

EUROPE
FOUR FRANKFURT in Germany, Europe. A 1.1 Billion Dollar complex with 4 Sky Scrapers reaching a height of 233M, making it the third tallest building in Germany.
BILBAO FINE ARTS MUSEUM MUSEUM in Bilbao, Spain, Europe. Estimated at 89 Million dollars, it is the second largest museum in Spain.
NORTH AMERICA
JPMORGAN CHASE BUILDING (270 Park Avenue) in New York, North America. A 3 Billion Dollar Sky Scraper with a height of 423M.
THE ONE in Toronto, North America. A 2 Billion Dollar sky scraper with a height of 308M making it the tallest building in Toronto.
ASIA
GREAT RIVER CENTER in Wuhan, China, Asia. A 4.5 billion dollar, 458 Metres Sky Scraper office building.
THE CHINA MERCHANTS BANK GLOBAL HEADQUARTERS MAIN TOWER in China, Asia. Estimated at 1.5 billion dollars, it is a 393M tall sky scraper with 77 floors.
THE GUGGENHEIM ABU DHABI in Abu Dhabi, UAE, Asia. A 1 Billion Dollar Museum for contemporary and Islamic arts.
TAIKANG FINANCIAL CENTRE in Wuhan, China, Asia. Estimated at 850 million dollars, it is a complex of three interconnected towers which includes offices, apartments, hotels, shopping malls, dining and cultural facilities, all connected by skybridges with rooftop gardens.
CENTRAL BANK OF IRAQ in Baghdad, Iraq, Asia. It is a 772 Million dollar project. Upon completion, it will be the tallest building in the capital city with a height of 172M.
CIEL TOWER in Dubai, UAE, Asia. A 544 Million dollar project. At 365M high, it will be the World’s tallest hotel upon completion.
OPPO HQ in Shenzhen, China, Asia. The design consists of four interconnected towers, which reaches a height of 200m (42 floors) and covers an area of 185,000 sqm. The land for the headquarters cost about 4.9 million dollars.
SANY IROOTECH HEADQUARTERS in Guangzhou, China, Asia. A two-tower building with a height of 204M, occupying a gross area of 175,664 square meters.
INTERNATIONAL LAND-SEA CENTER located in Chongqing, China, Asia. It is a 458M tall sky scraper and the 9th tallest sky scraper in China.
AFRICA
THE F TOWER in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Estimated at 400 million dollars, it is planned to be 400 m high, the tower has 72 floors of offices and an auditorium with over 200 seats on the first floor. It will be the tallest tower in Africa and will have a footprint of 200,000 m2.
THE PINNACLE TOWERS in Kenya, Africa. A 350 million dollar project of 70 stories, with over 1,000 feet (300 m) in height.
THE ARK in Ogun State, Nigeria.
One of the few churches on this list, The Ark at Canaanland, Ota, Nigeria is reported to cost. (Hold your breath)..It has a span of 318m, a height of over 70m and a foundation depth of 69 feet. It will have a total of 128 elevators, escalators and travelators (the most in one buildingl) as well as 1,200 toilets. It has a twin tower of 12 storeys each. The main bowl of the Ark will take over 109,000 people and a basement that can take 350 cars of 44,000 people. If all the facilities within the Ark are filled up, it will take more than 200,000 congregrants. On completion, the Ark built by Bishop David Oyedepo led Living Faith Church aka Winners’ Chapel will be the largest single indoor Church structure with a footprint of about 66,500 m2.
THE HAND OF GOD CATHEDRAL in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Estimated Cost on completion is in the range of … dollars (Don’t worry, very soon we will tell you) The structure is shaped like 5 fingers attached to a main bowl and each finger with a length of 100m and width of 48m. Hand of God has the largest steel roof in the world. On completion, the Cathedral built by Pastor David Ibiyeomie led Salvation Ministries will be the 3rd largest Church building in the World by footprint with a size of 56,000 m2.
THE LAGOS ARENA in Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria. It is a 100 million dollar multi purpose hall with 12,000 spectator capacity. The total construction area of the Arena is 25.250 sqm.
OCEANIA
QUEEN’S WHARF in Australia, Oceania. A 2.3 Billion Dollar project composed of 4 Towers sitting on top of a 7 storey podium. The tallest Tower has a height of 242M.
