I welcome you to a wonderful Sunday morning service and I welcome you to the first part of the ministration, the Choir’s ministration. The testimony of that young man delivered from alcoholism of 10 years, lend credence to the ministry of songs especially miracle songs, anointed songs, songs carrying the mantle. He heard the song and lost it and the yokes of addition got broken on the spot. Church Gist. I will like you to know that in the music ministry, we are not wasting our time. Yeah, because on Sundays, you will say, oh I am waiting for the Word. No, the song can deliver, it can direct, it can help, it can also hinder the enemy and I welcome you!
I also welcome every father here this morning. Everybody has been texting and saying; “Happy Father’s Day.” Thank you and congratulations. I think there is just one Father’s Day right? And so many mother’s days and so we have the confusion about which Mother’s Day but we will adopt one very shortly, so that we will know this is the particular day to celebrate the mothers and this is the particular day to celebrate the fathers but the Father’s Day is one.
I want to let you know that nobody can be a father without a mother. Is it possible? Can a man give birth to a child by himself? Actually it is the mothers that go to the labour ward and deliver. So congratulations to the mothers who made the fathers possible and happy, happy celebration for everybody.
Give the Lord a big clap of hand.
3 John 1:2, it says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”
Subject very quickly this morning is:
“EXISTING IN DIVINE HEALTH”
Our objective is to understand those forces that facilitate our existence in divine health. Divine health is God’s perfect plan for His people, that is living sickness free, that is the perfect plan. Church Gist. Divine healing is His intervention plan where you fell out of health and became sick, He brings you back to health by the process of divine healing but the basic thing that is God’s perfect heart is to be in health. But divine health is not automatic; every Scriptural promise, let me say it like this, Scriptural promises always stand on Scriptural premises. If there is a promise, there is a premise on which it stands. That is if God says this is what I will do, there is always what man will do to facilitate what God will do.
The work of divine health, the existence in divine health is a synergistic activity or process between divinity and humanity. The role of God is always a constant, it is always man that varies. So what are some of the things that must be done, that we must do in order to walk in divine health?
- There must be victory over depression, victory over depression and that is what I will deal with in this service.
If there must be health, there must be joy. A merry heart will always do good like medicine (Proverbs 17:22). Church Gist. Like we have said; I said that merriment is medicinal and joy is therapeutic. In fact, joy is both the prophylactic and the therapeutic agent. Joy can prevent sickness from happening and joy can make healing to happen.
I came across a study of people in American, people who had lived 80 years and above and they were asking the secret of their health, their strength and their vitality. It was a study I read from Zig Ziglar and one of the secrets they discovered was that these people had a very healthy sense of humour, many of them. They enjoyed cracking jokes or laughing or enjoyed making others to laugh. That lifestyle prolonged their lives.
I came across a story also of a man who had terminal, I believe it was terminal blood cancer and he said, well before I die, let me be happy, let me make myself laugh. So he gathered healthy humourous things that you just be watching and say let me enjoy my life, I am about to die, as well enjoy the last few days of my life and he just kept watching and just laughing and laughing at the things he was seeing and watching and before you could say praise the Lord within weeks, the cancer dried, everything disappear because merriment is medicinal, joy is therapeutic.
On the other hand, the Bible says, a broken spirit drieth the bones. Many of us don’t understand the meaning of that statement. It says depression attacks the bones. Dr (Mrs) Becky Enenche and anybody who is medically oriented, the bone is the center for life. The bone marrow is the place for the production of the red blood cells. The red blood cells that make you live come out of the bone. The heart only pumps the blood manufactured by the bone. The red blood cells carry the oxygen to the part of your body; oxygen is what transports life. If depression attacks the bone, it means it attacks red blood cells production, attacking the transport of oxygen in your body; that is death.
Beyond that, the bone is the production of the white blood cells. The white blood cells are the soldiers of the body, they fight away infections, so by the time the bone is under attack because of depression and because of lack of joy, then your immune system is down and what happens is any infection or affliction that comes easily put you on the bed.
Beside that, the bone is responsible for the production of platelets. The platelets are the clotting system of the body. Church Gist. Everytime you cut your hand and you bleed a little, it is the platelet and the clotting system that quickly coagulate together to make sure the bleeding does not continue. In a condition called dissemination intravascular coagulation, there is a platelet dysfunction where clotting system is affected so people bleed to death because the platelet cannot cover them.
Can you imagine these vital functions of the bone marrow, it says depression attacks them. I didn’t go to school for nothing. Some people say why do you study medicine and then decides to preach? That is what am doing right now, the medicine is part of the lecture. Am I communicating at all?
So don’t waste your life, don’t finish yourself by the spirit of depression, by the spirit of heaviness. It doesn’t matter what you are depressed about; I don’t have a job, I don’t have a husband, I don’t have a wife, I don’t have a child, I don’t have this, I don’t have that. It is not worth it. The Bible says to him that is joined to the living there is hope, a living dog is better than a dead lion (Ecclesiastes 9:4). If you have life, you have joy. Shout the loudest amen!
That is why I move about with infectious excitement. One of my guys said, Sir, everywhere you arrived, people lightened up. Oh that’s my life. I can’t afford otherwise. That is why if you don’t want my body to move, don’t play anything that beat. Am I communicating at all?
You have just one life to live – don’t endure it, enjoy it. Did you hear what I just said? You have just one life to live, don’t endure it; enjoy it and if you leave this service this morning, as you go home in the day, just celebrate your life. Just cross your legs, just entertain yourself. Do you understand?
There are people, they are very good in China dishes and some wonderful things in their homes that they only bring out for visitors. Church Gist. Oh, an important visitor has come, this plate must come out but they don’t think that they are important enough for that plate and that kind of thing. There are people that bring out wine, non-alcoholic only when a visitor arrives, they can never smell such because, I don’t know. Just start with yourself – love your neighbor as yourself, that is you loving yourself.
Look at somebody by your side and say my life is worth the living. Just because He lives, my life is worth the living!
