You may please be seated in God’s presence.
Praise God!
I want to appreciate God for this wonderful privilege to be the one to serve us with God’s Word in today’s meeting. I want to appreciate my father and my mentor, my father who gave me this privilege, we all know where he is right now, I want to appreciate Mama, the team of pastors and everyone that will hear God’s Word, I believe God will visit you mightily in the mighty name of Jesus.
Holy Spirit of God we hand over this session into your hand in the mighty name of Jesus, we ask Spirit of God that you speak to people yourself in the mighty name of Jesus, give everyone understanding of your word in the mighty name of Jesus, cause the right word to flow through my mouth in the name of Jesus. Let destiny and lives be blessed and be renewed and be transformed in the mighty name of Jesus. Let the grace backing this Commission and our father David Ibiyeomie answer to me in the mighty name of Jesus, we vow to return the glory to you, in Jesus’ precious name.
The title of today’s message is BECOMING VICTORIOUS. Romans 8:37. I decree after today’s meeting, somebody hearing this message will turn a victor, everywhere you’re a victim in the past, I decree the same God of Heaven will make you a victor in the mighty name of Jesus. ChurchGist. You and I are born as victor. 1st John 5:4. So, as children of God we are already victorious, I’m not prophesying it’s what is written in scriptures, as children of God we are already victorious, all we need to do now is to maintain that victory. ChurchGist. I’ll give you an illustration of a boxing competition, if a man (Word heavyweight champion) is a Victor, but he still needs to be alert, he still needs to train, he still needs to prepare himself for the upcoming battle to retain his title. Yes, we are already victors but we must maintain our title, we must maintain that victory by becoming revived.
Matthew 13:35. No devil will sow tares in our own blessings in the name of Jesus, none of our blessings will be corrupted in the name of Jesus, our victories will not be corrupted in the name of Jesus. So, to remain victorious continually, we must be revived.
So, the topic is PERSONAL REVIVAL.
What is revival?
Revival is spiritual awakening, it is the arrival of God in the midst of His people, you need to be revived to survive in this wicked world. 1st John 5:19. There is wickedness in the world, but when you’re revived, wickedness will not be part of our lives in the mighty name of Jesus.
It is your level of revival that determines your usefulness to God, to his Kingdom and to humanity. 2nd Timothy 2:21. Somebody after this meeting will become means for His use in the mighty name of Jesus. So, your level of revival determines your level of command. ChurchGist. Many are waiting for God to act while God is waiting for us to be revived. Now, God will not meet a man without a man, every time God wants to meet a man, God will use another man to meet the man. Ezekiel 22:30. God will find us in Jesus’ name. So, for you not to be a dream, you must be revived. Psalm 24:20. Cruelty will not come near us in the name of Jesus. So, if you want to survive you must be revived. Am I communicating with us? Thank God for corporate revival but you must also be personally revived. Acts 2:1-3. So, everybody that was in the upper room carried fire, the Bible says He sat upon each of them, I pray that the revival will fall upon somebody here in the mighty name of Jesus. So, every child of God is supposed to carry fire, every child of God is supposed to be revived. Leviticus 6:12-13. The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar, it shall never go out. Praise God!
Now, the truth is that when you’re revived you cannot be unnoticed, because revival announces itself. ChurchGist. It will announce you in Jesus’ name. Very quickly let’s look at a few signs of lack of revival, I will just take only three of them because of time.
SIGNS OF LACK OF REVIVAL
1) PROLONG CHALLENGES
Challenges come to everybody, Papa has told us several times, challenges of life have no time table but when the challenges come and the challenges refuse to go and it says for a very long time, it’s a sign that you lack revival or your revival level is low.
Praise God!
2) NEAR SUCCESS SYNDROME.
This is also a sign of lack of revival.
3) STAGNATION
If you’re experiencing stagnation in any aspect of your life, it’s also an indicator that your revival level is low. Praise God!
WHY PERSONAL REVIVAL
When the use of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable.
1) FOR GOD NOT TO REJECT YOU.
Revelation 3:15-16. But God says He wants us to be hot, if you’re in between (lukewarm) he will spill you out of His mouth, He will spit us out of His mouth in Jesus’ name, every God’s rejection will lead to ejection in life. ChurchGist. So, please be revived.
2) FOR SATAN NOT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU.
Lack of personal revival will only make Satan take you for a ride, he will not take any of us for a ride in the mighty name of Jesus. Personal revival is important to avoid being a victim of the wickedness existing in the world. 1st John 5:19. It will not come near us in Jesus’ name. 1st Corinthians 10:13. So, no matter the situation that will come your way God will make a way of escape for you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. But the truth is that you need to be revived, several years ago when I was growing up as a young boy, we kept moving from house to house. I have shared the testimony before, we were moving from house to house, we got to a point where we were staying in between two villages.
People from area will know of the village, it is called Rumulokun, it’s between Choba and Uzoba (Port Harcourt, Nigeria) and the house was in one sharp corner, once you miss the bend you have missed the house and the reason why we went there is because they gave my father (as at that time he was working with University of Port Harcourt) a quarter to stay but the address inside the campus is easier to locate. So, we were dodging from the people called the Local scientists, we kept dodging them to a point where our house did not have an address, the house is called upstairs. We did this because there was lack of revival, nobody was revived, so every night something was pressing somebody and you keep hearing shout from different corners, we were seeing different type of things, I don’t know whether it was imagination buy every night something was oppressing somebody, we will hold meeting in the night, we will pray and pray, just as we are going to sleep another person is been oppressed again. ChurchGist. So, when you’re not revived, you will notice some of this kind of thing but we will not notice it in Jesus’ name. So, we ran, we kept running by ourselves, we were hiding from everybody because everybody was a suspect. We were suspecting everybody, once somebody comes to visit us, something will happen that night.
Praise God!
Please be revived. Matthew 13:25. The sleeping here connotes spiritual weakness, while men slept, the enemies came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. The enemy will not sow tares among our blessings in the mighty name of Jesus.
Now, the truth is that the challenges of life have no time table. Mark 4:35-39. Jesus told them after they finished ministering, He said let us go to the other and while they were in the boat, the Bible says Jesus was asleep in the boat and then water was entering the boat and they woke him up saying master carest not that we perish and the Bible says Jesus rebuked the wind and then there was calmness because He was a revived man, all the people that were shouting master master they were not revived, if they were revived they would have rebuked the wind. Water will not enter our boat in the mighty name of Jesus.
So, when you’re revived you command the devil to obey you. When you’re revived you don’t magnify or talk about the devil, no sir, you don’t talk about the devil.
3) YOU MAKE PROGRESS IN LIFE
Progress is a function of personal revival. Papa said: Progress is not wished for it is initiated. Micah 2:10. Deuteronomy 2:3. Somebody’s life will go forward in Jesus’ name. Proverbs 4:18. So, stagnation is a sign of lack of revival. ChurchGist. No one can eat or go to the convenience on your behalf, so don’t watch your life remain at the same spot, if your life is not going forward it means you’re not revived, the man at the pool of Bethesda, Papa said the man was there was 38 years and he was at a spot, that will not be your portion in Jesus’ name.
4) YOU ENJOY PEACE ON EARTH.
Peace is not the absence of conflict but a state of calmness in the midst of conflict, revived people don’t panic in the face of challenges. Mark 4:35-39. Jesus rebuked the wind, He didn’t panic, he just rebuked the wind and the storm and then everywhere was calm. ChurchGist. So, even though I’m in the midst of challenges, you will not panic. Am I talking to somebody? John 6, when there was scarcity of food to feed the people Jesus said make the men sit down, revived people don’t panic.
FACTORS THAT BRING REVIVAL
1) CONSTANT FELLOWSHIP
Psalm 84:7. So, coming to church is not funfair, the Church is a place of revival. ChurchGist. I remember the first time I joined this Commission, we had to travel for a program and I was coming back from the village to church, I got to the junction and I notices that the Church had closed, everybody was going home and I stood on the road and I was weeping, so some people came to ask me what happened? Did somebody die? I said no, I missed service, they didn’t understand what was happening to me, they were like what is wrong with this one, because you missed service is that why you’re crying? Praise God! From the moment I gave my life to Christ I have never missed any service, that was the only service I missed, I was always in fellowship and my life has been growing, from glory to glory. When you give your life to Christ, you will hear things that will change your life and edify your spiritual level. ChurchGist. When I gave my life to Christ as a young boy, I was experiencing wet dream and I came to the Church, it was bothering me to the point that I was thinking of going back to the world, I said Lord, if this thing does not stop, I will go back to where I am coming from because when I was there, I was not experiencing it, how can I be born again and be experiencing it? It was bothersome to the point that when I come to Church and the usher directs me to the front, I will think that the Word of Knowledge that will come that day will address my situation, so, I’ll want to hide and dodge in between the congregation. I said no! Lord, this plague must stop, I prayed, did the things I could do, I fasted, the day I will end my fasting, the thing I was praying against will show up. But I came to Church one day and in that discouraged state, Papa was teaching and He said when he gave his life to Christ, he also experienced it, he shared some scripture, I was happy because I am not the only one the thing has ever happened to. I said if he experienced it before and he came out of it; it means that there is hope for me. So, my faith rose and I went back home and I used the scripture, I won’t tell you all the devil.
So, when you come to church and you appear in Zion, you’re not coming for funfair, there are scriptures maybe that you have read at home and you’ve not understood them, you’ll be surprised as the man of God is ministering, he will just mention the same scripture and explain it and the Holy Spirit will give you light into that scripture and you will just gain flight. Somebody will gain flight in the mighty name of Jesus. Obadiah 1:17. Somebody will possess his/her possession in the mighty name of Jesus.
2) PRAYER
1st Thessalonians 5:17. Luke 18:1. So, make prayer a lifestyle, is it possible to stay revived without prayers? And when you’re praying, it’s not just praying for all your enemies or witches to die, you’ll pray kingdom-based prayers, that is the one that brings revival, am I talking to us. ChurchGist. Something happened to us recently, we noticed that we were doing devotion in the house but my children were not taking part in the devotion, so we agreed and said let’s change the time table, since we pray 5:30 and then they bathe at 6:00. Let’s change the timing. So, now we bathe them by 5:30 and their eyes are opened, we now pray by 6:00am. So that they can be part of the prayers, so they will be active in the devotion, now we flow very well in the devotion, they will say daddy I was reading the scripture I don’t understand, then I will explain to them. So, please make sure you pray, because if you just be revived you must pray.
3) CONSTANT WORD INTAKE
The more you take in God’s Word the more revived you become. 2nd Corinthians 3:18. So, the more you behold God’s word the more you’re changed to be like God, the more you become revived, the more you constantly look into God’s Word, the more you become revived. Am I talking to us, yes your nature changes to his nature, never stay a day without word intake, make sure you read the Bible on a daily basis.
4) PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE HOLY GHOST.
As a Christian, you will remain in obscurity without a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. 1st Corinthians 12:7. So, the reason the Holy Spirit is given to us is for us to make profit as children of God. But when you’re conscious of who he is and you refuse to relate to him you may be limited, none of us will be limited in Jesus’ name.
FEW BENEFITS OF PERSONAL REVIVAL
1) YOU ENJOY CLOSER WALK WITH GOD.
John 14:21-23. When God manifests himself to you; you’ll become a wonder. You’ll become God’s resident.
2) SATAN AND HIS AGENT WILL BE FAR FROM YOU.
John 8:29. Romans 8:31. If God is for you, no devil can be against you in Jesus’ name.
