Matthew 20:42b; He said “the Father sent Him, and so He sent you.” John 17:18. Church Gist. And I declare with authority, someone hearing this testimony this hour, your wealth will beat more than what Solomon had in the name of Jesus! Wealth with splendour, wealth with dignity; say I hear! Are you hearing what I am talking about? So you sow to change your future, you sow to do what? Sow to change your future. Not only prayers; prayers have to be added to sowing, and it takes faith to do that, hope you know that? Listen, ‘without faith it is impossible to please God, he that cometh to God must believe that he is rewarder of them who diligently seek him.’ Hebrews 11:6. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen. Church Gist. Solomon did not get wisdom before he gave; that’s where faith comes in. Solomon did not give after he got wisdom. He gave to get what he wanted.
How many of you understand Faith? Faith is that; Lord, I believe what you have said so I am going to act on it to commit you to perform what you have declared. Is that clear Sir? Church Gist. Solomon did not say “Lord Wisdom and Knowledge.” “If you give me a job I will thank God;” that’s not faith, you are giving to God in advance to act; that is faith. Church Gist. Faith is the substance of things hoped for evidence of things not seen. You have not seen, but it is evident because God who spoke it can not lie so you are doing it in advance, to commit God to move in your favour and God will move in your favour right now. Are you hearing what I am saying? Now listen carefully so you can understand what I am talking about.
This Church you are seeing was in a place called Plot 35, Birabi Street Port Harcourt, Rivers State Nigeria. Church Gist. The landlord then said we should leave that place in two weeks, and gave us a quit notice. We tried to renew the rent and he said he was not ready for the rent, we should just go. We were at a crossroad, the same with what many of you are experiencing in one way or the other, it may not be the same scenario but you are at a crossroad in a point; and I knew the principle of God, I knew the what? I knew the principle of God and how He works. Look if you say prayers; I fasted for 2 years when this ministry started, I did alright for 2 years non-stop; Monday to Sunday. So if you say prayer, you have not prayed oh. You cried the whole night yesterday and you said you prayed? Which prayer do you pray? I stood 12-2 every midnight. Church Gist. We prayed every prayer we prayed for the landlord to change his mind. In fact the more we were praying, the more the landlord was getting angry. So don’t tell me you are a prayer warrior, not everything prayer works, prayers have to be coupled with something. We prayed and prayed; I called my classmate, we prayed, anointed, spoke “land must be given” quoted all the Scriptures; the landlord said “go!” Church Gist. At that point I knew it was more than prayers alone. I said God what do I do? Now listen, the landlord has told us to go. Which means, we must get a new property. Now the money we had for the new property, the total money we had in the account was 1 point something million Naira; in the total account in the year 1999. This Church you are seeing, we didn’t have up to 2million Naira in the account in the year 1999. Church Gist. The same church that counts in billions now, in 1999 never had up to 2 million total income, my offering put inside was less than 2 million in the account.
Our landlord still said we had to move, now property has gone up. We needed over a million-plus to get a property. Church Gist. By the time we renovate, it will go over to 2 million-plus and we had a million-plus; so what do we do? Church Gist. People at that time would have said ” well, Oyedepo is my mentor, so I will go and beg.” That is a wrong step to take, that is a foolish pastor. You don’t go to your seniors to beg, you sow to them to trigger heaven. Church Gist. I knew the principle. I said well I sowed to him, some people even say they pay tithe to him why is his church not helping them? The Orthodox churches where you pay tithe do you go to the priest to collect your money? Oyedepo is a Pentecostal Church… I knew the principle, I knew what? I knew the principle; so I said no! I have to do something. To cut the long story short, we gave 100,000 first out of comfort. Out of what? Comfort. Because N100,000 meant nothing out of 1 point something million. Church Gist. God said “this is not sacrifice, what you gave did not move me.” Take another N500,000; at the time you had 1 point something million, the landlord had said go, take N500,000 to add to the N100,000 to make it N600,000? It takes faith; this is what is called faith; that’s where faith comes in. Landlord said ‘go, don’t stay here.’ We have paid N100,000; N100,000 did not mean anything to us that time out of the scratch, he now said ‘take another N600,000 and sow in Faith Tabernacle they are building’ there were building Faith Tabernacle then in 1999, He said then see my hand.’ On Tuesday, I traveled to Lagos, dropped N500,000 plus N100,000 to make it N600,000. Church Gist. The moment I came back, a woman walked to me and she said sir I learnt the Church… She happens to be a member and she has been there. All the while we have been looking for property, all the Church knew we were looking for property she didn’t make any comment, you know why? God was not moved. That you are suffering does not mean God will answer you. In fact God will look at your cry and wipe them off but He won’t answer you. The woman came and said my husband has a property in plot 17; can the Church have it? I said, where was this woman before? We moved God to act and we came to plot 17 this place here 1999. This was the only property in GRA that was an abundant property.So God knew that if we come here, it will be sold to us by the Government. Church Gist. Every other property has been sold, this is the only property that has not been sold.
After we gave! Now listen, to tell you how powerful giving is, we were paying N350,000 when we came here, rent in Port Harcourt, this side of the world doesn’t go down it only goes up. Church Gist. In 1999 the rent should go up true? When we came here, we paid 190,000. God knew that our money had been given as sacrifice so favour had to come in, and we had now paid for 5 years; because the money for 5 years was able to go enough to pay for 5 years. Are you hearing me? That is how we came here and bought it and expanded and bought other ones. Church Gist. May today God give you understanding, may you never tie your destiny up with stinginess. Say with me, from today, I will not allow stinginess kill me, stinginess I cast you out.
There was a man called Zacchaeus in Luke 19:8-9 ” And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham.” Zacchaeus made Jesus give him Salvation through his giving. Through his what? Through his giving he got Salvation. Church Gist. Giving can meet any need. But there was a young ruler in Luke 18:18 and 22 “And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow meAnd when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.”
This ruler was not ready to act in faith, Zacchaeus wanted a future with Jesus; whereas the rich ruler wanted a present without Jesus. He said ‘go with eternal life, I want to perish; I love money more than eternal life’ any body. Any body who can not give, it’s not because you don’t have; it is because you are stingy and you don’t love God! Say I hear! Church Gist. Don’t profess to love God when you can’t give. All those are religious junks. Religious junks! No stingy man loves God. One sign to show that you are stingy, is any time God says give, you say ‘I no get’. It’s not because you don’t have it because you are what? Stingy. “God see my hand na; I no get” You no co come out from poverty oh, make I tell you, you no go come out from poverty; so that incase you no hear better English, you hear this one. “I no get! I no get!” You go get I no get. You go to exam hall you say “I no know” wetin you go get? I no know; Zero!
Whatever you are willing to give up is the same thing God is willing to multiply to you in full measure. Whatever you are willing to give up is the very thing God is willing to multiply to you in greater measure. Church Gist. Great future awaits you when you sow your seed to secure a great future. Are you hearing me? A woman called Dorcas in Acts 9:36; when you get home you read it. This woman was a giver and she died after giving, she had a second chance to live after giving; peter had to come. The only thing that was in record for her was: this woman is a giver, therefore she can not die. Church Gist. Life story of one of the elderly women I am taking care of; she said “my pickin you no go die. Instead of you to die, make I die!” She said ” nobody don touch my life since them born me,” she is ’97 “instead of you to die, make I die you bury me.” Somebody one day looked at me and tears coming down, ” without you I wouldn’t have gone to school, I went to school because of you. Nothing will kill you Sir.” Church Gist. ‘You know say me I no get,’ the small one wet you get, you don do anything? A person who cannot give out of one thousand can not give out of one million. I don’t give because I have money to throw away, I give because that is my nature and that is why I am not poor. Giving has never made anyone poor. Pray, pray, pray, pray, pray; na you bring Satan? ‘Sir I dey pray since last year, God never hear me.’ God is not deaf; move Him with a seed, move Him with a what? A seed! Church Gist. Ananias and Sapphira, in Acts 5:1-11; they were stingy, they were what? They died inside church, inside church na in them die. You will not die inside the Church in Jesus’ name. Say I hear! Church Gist. The centurion in Luke 7:1-5; says ” this man but us a synagogue, there Jesus go and heal his servant” the reason why Jesus went with him, He said “go and pray for him because he is worthy to be prayed for, because he built us a synagogue, this man’s heart is very free, he is not a stingy man.” Say I hear! That was the reason Jesus went with him. Jesus went with him oh! Church Gist. Check the Bible all the houses Jesus entered, He never entered a stingy person’s house. Zacchaeus He entered, Lazarus He entered. Check the houses He entered there was no stingy person’s house Jesus entered. You know why He hasn’t entered your house? You are stingy. You are too stingy, if He comes, they won’t give Him food. You say “ah! Jesus will come there, when the poor come and you don’t give them food, Jesus has come to you.” You even hide your food when they come. “When are you leaving? When are you leaving?” Jesus said, “if you have done it to one of them, you have done it to me.” Church Gist. Some people even get angry when people visit them. They get very angry, ‘since morning he came he has not left.’ They are not angry because the man is there, it is because of the food they will give him oh.
Acts 10:4; You can’t be in this Church and be stingy, are my a stingy pastor? Who will you look like? God you Father is not stingy, Jesus is not stingy, me your pastor I am not stingy; so who will you look like? Church Gist. To be in this Church and you are not a giver, something is wrong with you. Acts 10:4 “And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.” Prayer is one leg and I know if you stand on one leg for too long, it will pain you. So you must be balanced on the two. It says “your prayer and your alms” not ‘I don pray oh, if you see the way I pray this week; oh chineke, I don do am till this morning and also add to it,’ as you don pray prayer warrior before you get worn out, add to your prayer. Add giving to it. Mr. ‘Akachi’ add to your prayer, giving. A combination of two forces; no force in hell can stop it. Are you hearing what i’m saying? Church Gist. God notices our giving, givers will always move the hands of God. Have good intentions to sow will never move the hand of God. Have good intentions to sow without action will never move the hand of God. ‘God knows I will give,’ God won’t move. Church Gist. Deny your self of some pleasures today to create your desired tomorrow. To move the hand of God, you have to give. Now listen; to move the hand of God, you have to give from what you have not from what you expecting. Let me tell you something, ‘ I’m expecting to get a big breakthrough then I will give.’ No! Give from what you have now, then that will now trigger the breakthrough. Are you getting me? Are you hearing me now? Don’t say “when I have money” no, give from what you have now. God will not ask for what you are expecting; give from what is available now. We will only be blessed when we act, not when we intend to do. I intend to give; will not move God, do it now. Church Gist. “He that is willing and obedient shall eat the good of the land.” Isaiah 1:19; if they obey and serve him, they will have their years in prosperity and their years in pleasures, Job 36:11. As you pray to move the hand of God, make sure that your prayer is coming with giving and you will move the hand of God. Rise to your feet. Shout hallelujah!
PRAYERS
Lord, I receive the grace to give. As I pray this month, I receive the giving Grace.
-with the giving Grace that is upon this commissioner and upon my life, let that Grace come upon you now.
- Every prayer you have prayed from your heart, as you obey this instruction, I decree God answer you speedily in the name of Jesus’ Name.
- I declare; listen everywhere the Gospel has been promoted, God turns things around. I command no sinner in any field that competes with you any more.
- As you obey this divine instruction, no sinner in any field excels above you. From today henceforth beat them hands down in the name of Jesus.
- And God says “be blessed!” Who ever God blesses, He empowers Him to succeed. I stand in my office and speak; be blessed! In the name of Jesus.
- Whatever is sitting on your progress, I curse it in the name of Jesus!
- I command every Satanic yoke broken right now. Rise and shine in the name of Jesus.
