WHAT GOD CAN DO FOR YOU IS DETERMINED BY THE LEVEL OF POWER AT WORK IN YOU.
WE AS HUMANS ARE LIMITED IN POWER BUT THE NAME OF JESUS IS UNLIMITED IN POWER.
EVERY MYSTERY OF THE KINGDOM DEMANDS FAITH TO DELIVER.
A LOT OF PEOPLE SHOUT THE NAME OF JESUS IN FEAR
FRAUD WILL PUT YOU IN TROUBLE, BOTH IN THE PHYSICAL AND THE SPIRITUAL.

There is no limit to the power at work in Christ, for you and me in our adventure on earth, we can keep growing in power but everybody’s individual power is according to a specific limit. In electricity for example we use KVA to measure power. ChurchGist. So, you may have a 5KVA, 10KVA, 15KVA, 20KVA generator, all of these are measurements of power, there are things that if you put on a 5KVA generator, the generator will begin to make strange sounds until it dies because what you’ve put on it, is too much for it to carry.
There is what you will put on a 10KVA generator that will make the generator react until the generator dies itself based on the demand of power you’re making on it. ChurchGist. Every generator has a limit to the power it can supply and every believer has a limit to the power at work in him or her. Ephesians 3:20. So, usually what God can do for you is determined by the level of power at work in you. So, if the power is limited in you; you have limited what God can do for you. So, God created an escape route, if your power is limited, go to His name, His name carries His unlimited power, so that you can make a demand beyond your own capacity and His power is bound to deliver it.
That is what the name has to offer. So, we are limited in power but the name is unlimited in power. So, you can channel yourself and make a demand based on the power supply available to you from Jesus. You can have a generator, it will always have a limit, but if you have a power grid that supplies the Nation, it has a different limit. If there is a challenge with how much power you’re able to generate for yourself and you live in a place where power is not epileptic, you can connect to the power source from outside and it will supply to you the kind of power you cannot generate by yourself. ChurchGist. The Bible says at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, even the one that will not bow to you, they bow to Him. So, it is a name with unlimited power.
Hallelujah!
The virtue of Jesus is located in that name. Mark 16:17,20. What were the Disciples saying? They were speaking in His name. ChurchGist. Every sign they commanded was in His name, so what they were saying was in His name and as a result of that everything they demanded was supernaturally delivered. The name is unlimited in power.
Hallelujah!
The Apostles had a strange understanding of this and as a result of this, you saw them operating in an unusual dimension of power. ChurchGist. Let’s take some case study from the scripture.
Acts 3:1-8. The Bible says there was a man in gate Beautiful, he was lame and he was continuously there and Peter and John at the time of prayer we’re going into the Temple and the man look at them asking for alms and he was expecting to receive something from them and Peter looked at this man and said, Silver and Gold I have none but such as I have, I give unto thee, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. What did Peter have? The name. Hello! He said, you’re asking for silver and gold, that’s not what I’m carrying now but there is something that I carry that has the capacity to cure what you’re carrying, it is the name. ChurchGist. In the name of Jesus rise up and walk. And it shows because according to scriptures, when they asked them what is this? What are all of these about? Peter explained to them in Acts 3:14-16, Peter was saying what caused the miracle you’re seeing now is His name, they asked him the question the second time, you can see that Peter understood the power behind the name. Acts 4:9-10. What Peter was trying to say here is not like something that was given to him physically but something that was given to him and then to us spiritually, the name. The name carries the power! By what power is this man made whole? Peter said; the power is the name. So, the name is full of power.
That name Jesus, is loaded with all the power in the same personality, all the power that is loaded in Christ is in His name. So, when we engage the name there is a free flow of power.
Hallelujah!
- The Authority of Jesus is domiciled in His name.
From scriptures we are made to understand that there is a difference between power and authority. Matthew 10:1. We see here that Jesus was referring specifically to power here. Luke 9:1-2. Jesus now gave His disciples power and authority. So, there is a demarcation, there is power and there is authority. Power has to do with capacity, the ability for something to happen, Authority is about positioning or rank. Philippians 2:9-11. That Name is a rank in the spirit and when that rank is engaged, everything below must respond. What it means is that the name of Jesus is the rank of Christ in the realm of the spirit. ChurchGist. In organizations all over the world, high ranking officials, many of them have secretaries, the secretaries write many of the letters and the officials sign the letters.
In some organizations the secretary has the signature of the high ranking official on standby, maybe in softcopy as the case may be. And as soon as the letter is written, the signature is appended to that letter. Once that signature is on that letter, that letter carries the authority of whose signature is on it, nobody looks for the secretary, they look for the one who signed it. ChurchGist. When you say in the name of Jesus, you have appended the signature of Christ to what you’re addressing.
Now, you’re the secretary, Jesus is the signatory, the signature has been applied, to whatever you demanded for. So, whatever is under His authority is bound to respond to you. John 14:12-14. Jesus said if you ask anything in my name, I will do it, because it is my name, it is my responsibility. So, the authority of Jesus is domiciled in His name. ChurchGist. You remember the Scriptures makes us understand that the King usually wear a ring and that ring had an image on it, anytime the King writes a letter, they will put some wax on the letter and the King uses that ring to stamp that wax, whenever they see the sign of his ring on that wax, that document is signed by the King himself.
You remember when Joseph was in prison to become the Prime Minister, the Bible Says that the King put his ring in his hand. So, anytime they come to the King to make a demand, the King will direct them to Joseph, he is carrying the ring. ChurchGist. Anything he stamps that ring on, I’m the one who stamps it. The name of Jesus is like that signet ring, you and I have it. He has given and entrusted it in our care, so whatever we stamp the name on, Jesus said I’m the one who said it. So, you and I are the Joseph of Jesus, we are stamping the name on whatever it is that we demand and the owner of the ring responds to every one of his demands.
-I pray that our eyes be opened in the name of Jesus Christ.
- The Name of Jesus is a strong tower against all the evil of the day.
It is not just power, it is not just authority, it is also a tower, we are able to hide in it. Proverbs 18:10. So, when we engage the name, we are running into a tower of safety, a place of security. John 16:33. You’re hidden inside the tower; you’re secured from all of the negative happenings ChurchGist. That means when you invoke the name Jesus, it is not only to tackle what has happened but to also prevent more from happening. It keeps you safe, you’re secured by God when you engage the name, it keeps you safe.
Hallelujah!
- Demons are cast out by the name. When the name is invoked, demons will be casted out, they’re expelled by the name. Matthew 16:17. Luke 10:17. ChurchGist. So, every demonic activity can be terminated by the authority in the name of Jesus. If there is any kind of demonic activity bringing affliction across your family, you can check it out by the name of Jesus.
Hallelujah!
What are all of these showing us?
The name of Jesus is loaded and pregnant to deliver on our behalf. The question then is that if the name is this loaded, why has it not delivered for many? Why does it not seem to deliver for many?
Take note of this, every mystery of the Kingdom demands faith to deliver. Romans 14:23. For example, the anointing oil that we see in scriptures requires faith for it to deliver. Mark 6:7, 12-13. ChurchGist. The power was in this instrument called the anointing, but this anointing requires faith for it to deliver. James 5:14-15. Faith is required for any mystery to walk.
Now, let’s get down to the very mystery of the name because that’s our focus tonight, we discover that for the name to work, faith is a must. We are going to look at two case studies, one is for when the name worked and the other is where the name didn’t work.
Acts 3, we saw here how Peter engaged the name and the lame man was healed and Peter told us why the name walked. Acts 3:16-17. It is not just the name but the faith that you’re applying to the name. It is the faith factor that was the difference factor. ChurchGist. So, two people can use the name, one was in faith and the other out of faith, it will only work for the one who worked it with faith because the name answers according to your faith.
How many of you know that a lot of people shout the name of Jesus in fear, in fact most people that know anything about God and Christ, when they are afraid the most is when they shout Jesus the most. Jesus! Jesus!! They are shouting but it is not working because there is no faith in it.
Acts 19, in this case there were two of them, Peter and John but only Pete spoke and the sickness was healed. Acts 19:13-16. What were their offences? What name did Peter use? The name. The sons of Sceva said we use to hear somebody use the name of some people and it use to work, they too said, we use to see somebody which they talk about one person, so in the name of that person, rise up and walk, the devil said, wait o, that name I am familiar with the name, Paul also uses the name and I know him, but who are you? ChurchGist. I said to you earlier that the name is the authority, it is the signature of the person, how many of you know that if you’re not the Secretary to the man and you use his signature that you’re a fraud? Is that true? What makes you have the permission to use the name of Jesus is your faith.
First of all, you must be in Christ, which is like you are working in the company but you must now be in faith, that is, you are now his secretary. ChurchGist. That you’re the receptionist does not mean you have the permission to use his signature, you’ll be arrested. Now these people were Church people, they’re inside the company but they were not in faith (they were not his secretary) and they’re using his signature and Satan was angry, I know you people you’re not among the real people and one devil out seven men in disgrace.
Now, it may sound funny but how does faith come? By hearing. Romans 10:17. It means faith is a product of revelation, what did they lack? The revelation of the name, they had no revelation of the name, so they had no faith in the name and therefore they had no permission to use the name. ChurchGist. Anytime you have no revelation of that name and you use it, there is no permission for it. So, the devil that responds to one who uses the name will not respond to the other who does not use it with faith. Faith is not what you just generate, faith is what you access by excavating the Word of God, coming to the point of revelation, until the point where your authority is then established.
Fraud will put you in trouble, both in the physical and the Spiritual. You know you can get away with fraud physically until they catch you, the unfortunate thing about the realm of the spirit is that they are quick to catch. ChurchGist. What I’m showing us is that these were Church people, these were active people, these were people who were in the pinnacle of activity but they were outside of faith. What is it that causes the name to work on your behalf? Your faith.
What is it that makes you have faith in the name? The word
Why are we teaching the name today? So that you can have faith in the name by the word you’re hearing concerning the name. That is the power that is in the name, it is unlimited in power but what limits its power in our direction is our faith.
What does that mean? Expand your faith and you will expand the flow of His power. The power is unlimited, our faith is the question, so grow your faith in the name, that’s the key. ChurchGist. Have that understanding that this name is loaded enough to tackle any matter that you’re confronted with. That revelation is what catapults you in result when it comes to the utilization of the name.
