I welcome everyone here this morning in Jesus’ precious name. I’m bringing you greetings from Harare, Zimbabwe and Pretoria, South Africa. Church Gist. We had great meetings there and God was glorified. In the South African meeting, we had the Chief of Staff of Johannesburg, we had the speaker of the parliament and the Judges both from South Africa and Botswana that were in attendance amidst several other people and it was very impactful. Church Gist. People came from places like Swaziland, Lesotho, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, there were some who followed us from Zimbabwe to South Africa and the earth is being covered with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas.

3 John verse 2. Subject this morning is Living in “DIVINE HEALING AND HEALTH”. Our objective this morning is understanding what it takes to live in divine healing and health. Church Gist. I’d like you to open your ears and understand it very clearly because God will be speaking to us in very intense ways. The Bible makes it clear that it is God’s plan and purpose for His children to prosper and be in health, according to our text. But there’s something that I want to draw your attention to this morning and that is the fact that the Bible makes it clear that healing, health is the bread of the children. Church Gist m According to Matthew chapter 15, a Greek Syrophoenician woman came to Jesus seeking healing for her daughter, in verse 26 of that passage, Jesus answered and said, “it is not correct for me to take the children’s bread and cast it to dogs”. Matthew 15:26-27. Church Gist. She was of the Gentile tribe, a Greek Syrophoenician, “what you’re asking for belongs to the children of the House” and this is very important and I’m going to say 3 things very quickly on this.
1. God makes healing available for His children like parents make food available for their children. What does this mean?
1a. As natural as it is for food to be available for children, so natural it is for healing to be available for God’s children. Church Gist. As it is natural, it is not a miracle for food to be available for children, except in the days we are in now where there’s a lot of hardship. Church Gist. As natural as it is for food to be available for children, so natural it is for healing to be available for the children of God.
– I announce to someone here today, that healing that you’re looking for is available for you.
2. God the Father makes healing and health provision for His children daily. That is, on the basis of Matthew 6:11. If healing is the bread of the children and Scripture said, “give us this day our daily bread”, it means there’s bread for everyday. He makes healing and health available daily. The meaning of that is:
2a. There’s a daily healing and health allocation for every child of God. Yesterday came with an allocation, today has arrived with an allocation. Church Gist. So, you’re not permitted to be afflicted in today, you’re not permitted to carry any infirmity in today and you know that revelation is the collapse of affliction. Church Gist. If you didn’t know it, the problem may continue but now that you have known it, it’s not permitted to continue.
– in the name that is above every name, Jesus the resurrected Lord, everyone who came in here with any trace of affliction, I declare, they are arrested right now! Someone is being delivered of ovarian cyst and polycystic ovary disease, I command it to be destroyed and dissolved right now in the name of Jesus!
3. God’s foremost priority for divine health and wholeness is His children. What is the meaning of this? Church Gist. The woman said, “dogs”, that is those who belong outside “only eat from the one that has dropped”. What is the implication of this?
3a. God’s package of health must first go round His children, then it can be extended to others. So, as far as healing is concerned, you’re a priority. Church Gist. As far as health is concerned, you’re a priority; as far as deliverance is concerned, you’re a priority. I don’t know if I have many believers here this morning because not everybody who goes to Church is a believer. A believer is someone who lives by believing. Church Gist. Is there any believer here this morning? I said, you’re priority for divine health, healing and deliverance and what is yours this morning is coming your way!
– if you believe that, shout the loudest Amen.
– say after me, “I am leaving here today with every health and healing package that belongs to me, I am leaving here today with them in the name of Jesus!”
When was the last time you saw a child desperately sick and the parents said, “just wait for me in this pain until I have a business appointment”, except the man is a killer. Church Gist. All businesses suspended, I am attending, this matter is a priority, my child’s matter is priority, all businesses suspended.
Having said all of these, what do you do to practically take full delivery of your bread of healing and wholeness? How do I live to live in health and wholeness? Church Gist. If the time permits, I’ll say 4 things this morning, if it doesn’t permit, I’ll mention 3 of them.
1. Living in uprightness, righteousness and holiness.
A clear conscience is critical to a healthy body. Psalm 107:17. Psalm 103:1-3. He must forgive thine iniquities and then heal thine diseases. Church Gist. The healing of diseases is connected to the forgiveness of iniquities. James 5:14-15. If the sins are not forgiven, the healing cannot be lasting, if the sins are not forgiven, the health cannot be durable. So, there’s a direct connection between the forgiveness of sin and the healing of diseases. Look at Paul the Apostle speaking in 1 Thessalonians 2:10. As he could function in that realm, he functioned until he became Paul the aged. Church Gist. Philemon 1:9. Everything that came against him could not kill him before time because he said, “I behaved myself holily, justly and unblameably”.

Now, there are iniquities that bring direct connection with sickness, for example tobacco smoking, it’s going to definitely cause bronchogenic cancer in time to come. Church Gist. Alcoholism might cause fatty liver diseases, liver cirrhosis and primary liver cell cancer. Immoral living will cause diverse diseases, blocked fallopian tubes and all manner of things like that. Those are direct effects but there are still indirect effects. Church Gist. When a person is living a life that is not pleasing to God, there are situations that happen around him and we are going to look at 3 of them right now. So what is the connection between healing and uprightness?
1a. Sin brings a separation between man and God, so man is unable to access the vitality and the life of God’s presence. Isaiah 59:1-2. Church Gist. When you come into the presence of an aromatic person, you perceive his perfume but when you step out of his presence, it may be difficult to find that fragrance. I’m sure you have come across people before who carry a heavy presence, when you come around them, you feel something, that is how it is. When you come around the presence of God, there’s life and vitality in His presence, which you connect naturally without prayer but your unrighteousness puts a separation between you and God, so the life that is in the presence of God, you’re unable to connect it. Church Gist. This has nothing to do with smoking or drinking or any of the things yet, it has something to do with the gap between you and God and that gap makes it impossible to access what you’re to access in God.
1b. Sin brings a separation between man and God, so God is unable to hear man’s appeal for healing or deliverance. Isaiah 59:1-2. Church Gist. “Lord, set me free from this ulcer”, He says, “I’m not aware, I’m not hearing you”. “Lord, set me free from this hypertension”, He says, “I’m not hearing”. Church Gist. “Lord, I need deliverance from this diabetes”, He says, “I’m not hearing you” because there’s a separation.
– I pray that today, somebody will breach that separation so that you can be heard in Jesus’ name.
2. Living in God’s presence.
Living in God’s presence is key to living in health, wholeness and vitality. Church Gist. When a man lives in the presence of God, the presence of the one who does not know sickness or affliction, he lives in wholeness and health. I’ll give you two examples of such people.
i. Enoch.
Enoch walked with God until he could not be found by affliction and destruction. Genesis 5:24. Church Gist. He walked with God, kept the company of God until affliction could not find him, destruction could not find him, in fact, he walked with God until he escaped death.
ii. Moses.
Moses was the man who literally lived in the presence of God. Exodus 33:11,14. What happened to Moses at the end? Church Gist. When it was time to die, in fact, let me say it like this, Moses lived in health and died in strength. Why? He lived too much in God’s presence. Deuteronomy 34:7.
What does His presence do to you as far as health is concerned?
2a. The presence of God is the container of the life, energy and vitality of God.
So, the one who lives in God’s presence is in permanent touch with the life, energy and vitality of God. Psalm 16:8-11.

Isaiah 40:31. Some of us are not in a hurry to age by being in His presence.
3. Living in love which is inclusive of living in forgiveness is a major key to divine health.
Matthew 18:34-35. There are a group of afflicters called tormentors waiting to torment those who cannot forgive. Church Gist. Songs of Solomon 8:6. Love can withstand death, how much more disease?

I will give you two examples of people in Scripture that walked in love and what that love did to their health.
i. Joseph.
You remember how Joseph had every reason to be bitter and unforgiving because of the way his brothers treated him, how they sold him, betrayed him and did all manner of things against him. Church Gist. Genesis 45:3-8. Genesis 50:18-21. What a heart.
– I prophesy to someone here today, those who mean evil against your life, very soon, they shall come before you to bow and the evil they meant against you, Jehovah God shall turn it around for your good and your favour!
What was the outcome of Joseph? Genesis 50:26. He lived in health to be 110 years old because he lived in love and forgiveness.
ii. Dorcas.
A new testament saint called Dorcas, she was forbidden to die before her time because her work of love would not allow her to die before her time. Acts 9:36-41. Church Gist. “You widows that she took care of, you people who said that she shouldn’t die, take her”. Am I communicating? Love can surround you until it suffocates destruction. Please, don’t waste your life in bitterness, unforgiveness and hatred. Apart from that limiting your destiny, it can cut your life short before your time. Church Gist. There are pains in people’s bodies today that are a function of bitterness, depressing hormones. There are people who would never like to hear some names or see some pictures, just full of venom. You know unforgiveness is like when a man drinks poison and he’s expecting the other person to die because of the poison he drank. Church Gist. All the stress hormones, the cortisol and all of them are released in excess and the body cannot degenerate them on time, so, they are deposited in joints, arthritis, ulcer, deposited everywhere. Church Gist. We had a mad woman in our village in those days, she will say, “everywhere is worrying”, that’s the kind of life that somebody will be seeing.
What is the power of love? I’ll like you to see that in the area of your divine health.
3a. God is love, so, walking in love is walking in God and tapping into the life of God, which is sickless and durable. 1 John 4:8.
3b. Love by itself carries a force that can contend with death and destruction. Songs of Solomon 8:6. Church Gist. If love can withstand death, it can withstand disease. Love in your heart, body and system can withstand death and destruction.
3c. Loveless which includes bitterness and unforgiveness prevents prayers from being heard by God which includes the prayer for healing, deliverance and all of that. Mark 11:25. Church Gist. That is, if you stand praying and you have bitterness and unforgiveness in your heart, you’re wasting your life. Do you know there are people alive today who are angry against those who have already died? Church Gist. There’s somebody that has already died that they have not forgiven, they’ll say, “I wish he can wake up, I’ll deal with him”.
One of our members brought the father to see me. I think last week or 2 weeks ago, old man getting to like 95 or so, he doesn’t actually know his age. I said, “how old are you sir?” He said, “I am thinking I am 95 but I know I am older than that”. “What is your secret sir?” He said, “God did not create man to die”, in his own revelation, you can sleep, when it’s time to go, you sleep. People sleep in the Lord. Church Gist. He said it’s sin that is making people to die. He said he had a vision early this year where he saw the Apostle, John, that wrote the John’s Gospel and the Apostle told him, “love”. “What do I do?” “Just love”. Apostle John was the oldest Apostle, he lived to be 120 years and died, he was the only Apostle that died natural, others were killed. Church Gist. I will talk about it more in the 2nd service. Love equals life. The quality of your love determines the quality of your life.

Everything that comes to offend you comes to limit you. The action of the people is not as terrible as your reaction. You cannot prevent people from action but you can decide how you react. Church Gist. You cannot decide the action of people but you can decide your reaction. Papa Oyedepo has a very simple formular for forgiving people. He said, “the person just acted to the best of his knowledge, if he knew better, he would have behaved better. Do you see anybody writing the wrong answer in an exam if he knows the right thing? Nobody will know the right answer and deliberately write the wrong one. He only wrote what he thought was the answer”. Church Gist. He does that so he can face his life because the same mind you’re using to hold grudge is the same you need to calculate progress.

Please, today, anybody or anything that is holding you or you’re holding, for the sake of your life, health and future, let it go. Find reasons, husband and wife, find reasons to forgive your spouse. Create the reason. Church Gist. The Bible said, “love covereth a multitude of sins”. Love does not keep on bringing back things, it covers it, “I pardon you in advance”.
4. Living in Joy.
Proverbs 17:22. Job 41:22. If there must be strength, sorrow cannot exist. Church Gist. If you must have strength, then sorrow must be turned to joy, otherwise, strength can’t be sustained. Example of people who had joy in Scripture and had health.
i. Joseph
Despite all the pressures and afflictions he passed through and all the experiences of his life, he didn’t allow anything to tamper with his joy. They sold him, lied against him, sent him into prison but even in prison, Joseph was busy distributing Joy. Church Gist. You remember when he saw the Butler and the Baker, telling them, “why are you sad?” That is, he was not sad. In the prison, Joseph was not sad, it was others that he was bothered about. What was his outcome? We just read it. Genesis 50:26.
ii. Paul the Apostle
You know Paul the Apostle, he was the most harassed of all the apostles. You remember his testimony, how he was beaten with rods, he was shipwrecked, all manner of things Paul passed through but he didn’t allow any of those things to move him. Philippians 4:4. Roman 14:17. Church Gist. Ephesians 5:18-20. The outcome was that he lived as Paul the aged. Philemon 1:9.

I want to let you know that joy is not a gift, joy is a choice, you can decide to be excited and decide to be frustrated. I know people, there’s nothing you do that can make them happy, they just locked their hearts. Church Gist. Crack jokes until you crack yourself, they’ll summarize the laughter in 12 o’clock position, ‘hehehe’. They have just made up their mind not to be happy, they are not exciting, they are not excited and the worst thing, they are excitable. Church Gist. They are not happy, you cannot be happy around them and you can’t make them happy. I am not like that. Anywhere I step in, people must crack up. One day, we were in a car going somewhere, a man was driving us somewhere, he said, “is this how you make your wife laugh all the time?” We were just talking and just cracking and laughing. Church Gist. When they’re surrounding me, once in a while, I just drop a bomb and everybody will scatter, drop another bomb, even in the plane. It is a choice. Life is too short to endure it, enjoy it, don’t endure it. Church Gist. Your day is too short to be enduring, your week is too short to be enduring, your whole year is too short to be enduring, ensure that you’re enjoying everyday.

Yesterday, we were at the table when we returned, my children and myself, we were talking and they were asking me, “so, how was the trip” and everything. I said, “well, I scheduled the trip”. They said, “what do you mean?” I said, “since I calculated the number of hours that the trip will take, I scheduled every hour of that trip so that it’s not boring”. Church Gist. They said, “ehh, how?” I said, “I have a list of what to do per time for the flight”. They said, “really?” I said, “yes”. They said, “how?” “What I will study, what I will read and so on and so forth”. They asked, “so, did you cover everything?” I said, “the journey was one hour, I have not finished, so, I have a carryover of what to do after the flight”. (Laughs). Don’t let lift drift like that.
– I announce to you today, everything that is a source of sorrow in your life, I command it to dry up now!
– look at somebody by your side, “say, rejoice in the Lord”.
– today, whatever has put your life under pressure, I declare that pressure is over forever!
“Rejoice in the Lord, again, I say Rejoice” means, rejoice, rejoice, that is rejoice double.
– look at somebody around you and say, “rejoice, rejoice!”
Let me quickly share the connection between your joy and your health with you, then we shall rise up and rejoice.
4a. The climate of joy is the climate of Divine presence.
Joy connects you with the presence and the life of God. Psalm 16:11. Psalm 100:4.
4b. Sorrow or sadness of heart leads to a broken spirit and when the spirit is broken, the capacity to withstand infirmity is lost. I’ll show you two very important Scriptures. Proverbs 15:13. Church Gist. When you’re not excited, your spirit is impaired. Now, what happens when the spirit is broken? Proverbs 18:14. This is the way I think about it; when you’re sorrowful, your spiritman is broken, so your spiritual immunity is lost, it’s more like a spiritual HIV. Church Gist. Your spiritual immunity is lost, the capacity to fight devils, resist affliction and withstand strangers, that capacity is gone because you have allowed sorrow and sadness. Church Gist. The sadness broke your spirit, wounded your spirit, injured your spirit and caused your spiritual immunity to be lost.
– but today, whatever put your spirit under pressure, that pressure is over!
– every spiritual loss of immunity, I declare restoration!
– whatever is the reason for your unhappiness, Jehovah, visit that reason now!
– I decree today, a change of story!
