17th April 2025: The Easter Faith Convention of Living Faith Church Worldwide resumes after over 3 decades. The Easter Faith Convention 2025 tagged “Infallible Proofs” took place from Thursday, 17th to Monday, 21st of April 2025 and was held across 143 nations.

17th April,1951: Bishop Leslie Gordon Vining is elected and presented as the First Archbishop of The Church of the Province of West Africa. This took place at the inauguration of the newly created Church of the Province of West Africa. The Archbishop Vining Memorial Anglican Church Ikeja Lagos Nigeria is named after him.

17th April 1924: The Church of the Brethren Mission also known as Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN) holds her First Communion Service in Nigeria. The Church of Brethren Mission in Nigeria was Founded in 1923 by Stover H. Kulp and Albert D. Helser. They were commissioned as Missionaries sent to Africa by the Church of Brethren General Mission Board in June 1922.

17th April 1492: Spain’s King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella give Christopher Columbus a ommission to seek a westward ocean passage to Asia. Though Columbus was also interested in wealth, he saw himself as a new and true “Christopher” (Christ-bearer) who would carry Christ across the oceans to a people who had not heard the gospel.

17th April 1960: Swedish Christian and Secretary General of the United Nations Dag Hammarskjöld pens in his Markings: “Forgiveness breaks the chain of causality because he who forgives you out of love takes upon himself the consequences of what you have done. Forgiveness, therefore, always entails a sacrifice.”

17th April 2015: The 19th Festival of Life holds at Exhibition Center London (ExCeL), Royal Victoria Dock, London, United Kingdom with over 40,000 people in attendance and notably the then Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, David Cameron. The program which commenced in 1996 is hosted annually by The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), London, United Kingdom. This year, the 30th anniversary of the Festival Of Life held with over 30,000 participants.

17th April 2004 : The Foundation for the building of Apostolic Faith Mission (now Apostolic Faith Church) at 1 Kofar Kaura New Layout, Katsina State Nigeria is laid.

17th April 1772: Archibald Alexander is born in South River, Rockbridge, Virginia, United States of America. He was an American Presbyterian Theologian and the First Professor of the Princeton Theological Seminary.
