Members of the Federal Road Safety Corp [FRSC], Lagos sector, have received awards of recognition at the Enthronement Assembly Church, Lagos, on Sunday, May 14th, 2023, for their excellent and impeccable contribution to the metropolis.

Tagged ‘FRSC Appreciation Service,’ the church located at Agidingbi, Ikeja, hosted 45 men and women of the government agency, showing them the support and appreciation worthy of the tireless effort they put into ensuring the safety of the city’s motorists and other road users, as well as ensuring compliance with traffic and road-worthiness laws.

From L-R : DCRMA Tayo Ogundele, MI-3 Omowande Ajayi, Rev.Deji & Dr. Seun Olabode (Senior Pastors, Enthronement Assembly), Corps Commander Babatunde O. Farinloye Sector Commander RS2.1 Lagos State and SRC Olabisi Sonusi at the Enthronement Assembly FRSC Appreciation Service.

“Let’s appreciate those who make our country saner and safer,” Reverend ‘Deji Olabode, the Lead Pastor of Enthronement Assembly, admonished congregants.

The recipients of the awards were Road Safety Marshal Tayo Ogundele, Road Safety Marshal Omowande Ajayi, and Officer Olabisi Sonusi, all three of whom have a track record of diligence, dedication, and a penchant for excellence in service.

Speaking to the press after the service, Reverend Olabode explained the idea behind the church’s gracious gesture: “We just came to the awareness that some of the people in our society who are getting the major work done are not getting the recognition that is needed for the kind of results that they generate.

“So we decided to, once in a while, focus on different sectors of society, just let them know that they are not alone. We do what we can within our purview to honour them materially and financially just to encourage them.”

The Lagos Sector Corp Commander, Babatunde Farinloye, who was present at the occasion, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the church for the recognition while also sensitizing those present on the need to abide by traffic laws at all times.

“Let us always reverence God through our obedience to traffic rules and regulations,” he said, before encouraging people to shun driving against traffic.

“Please, when you are on the road and others are driving against traffic, don’t be unequally yoked,” he advised.

Other senior officers (Chief Route Commanders) present at the occasion included CRC O.J Ozekohme, CRC E. Ekong, CRC A.A.O Johnson, CRC Ekibajo, and CRC A.I Daniel. All officers present were eulogised for their immense commitment to the progress of their country and encouraged to do more.

The FRSC Appreciation Service is part of Enthronement Assembly’s consistent push to recognise and dignify hardworking but often overlooked members of Nigerian society with deserved recognition. In 2022, they hosted officers of Lagos State’s Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) and Street Valets around CBD, Agidingbi, where the church is currently located.
