ESE BRUME BACK TO THE TOP
Nigeria’s Ese Brume got her first ever victory at a Diamond League meet, winning women’s Long Jump leaping a distance of 6.83m at Brussels Diamond League (DL). Brume has come close on some occasions, finishing 2nd in Doha (2018), 2nd in Eugene (2022), but she now has her 1st DL win.
Brume had competed in the women’s Long Jump at Palio Citta meet in Rovereto, Italy a few days ago. It was her first action back on the field since reclaiming the Commonwealth Games title in Birmingham.
She finished 3rd in the contest, jumping a mark of 6.53m on her 5th attempt. Milicia Gardasevic 🇷🇸 won the event, leaping a mark of 6.78m, while Jasmine Sawyers🇬🇧 jumped 6.73m to secure 2nd spot.
Ese Brume will now be competing in her first Diamond League final next week, punching her ticket to the showpiece a short while ago.
