EVEN WHEN DOCTORS SAY YOU HAVE CANCER STAGE 4, WHOSE REPORT ARE YOU GOING TO BELIEVE?

FAITH SAYS, I BELIEVE GOD’S REPORT; FEAR SAYS, I BELIEVE THE REPORT OF MAN.

YOU CAN’T FIND ANYTHING THAT IS TOO HARD FOR GOD TO DO; IF GOD SAYS, I CAN DO IT, IT’S DONE

YOU SHOULD NOT FEAR BECAUSE GOD IS THE JUDGE OF THE UNIVERSE – HE IS THE MOST INFLUENTIAL

THE ALMIGHTY GOD WHO CAN RESTORE AND REVERSE THE IRREVERSIBLE IS THE ONE WHOSE REPORT YOU SHOULD BELIEVE

I CAME TO LIVE IN REDEMPTION CAMP – THE CITY GOD PROMISED ME – IN A JUNGLE SURROUNDED BY PYTHONS AND BY A HIGHWAY THAT WAS NOTORIOUS FOR ROBBERS

IF GOD IS ON YOUR SIDE, YOU HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR. PUT FEAR AWAY FROM YOU.

THERE’S ONLY ONE PERSON WHO KNOWS YOUR END EVEN FROM YOUR BEGINNING. HE’S THE ONE WHOSE REPORT YOU SHOULD BELIEVE

AS FEARFUL AS THE DEVIL MAY BE TO YOU, HE CAN ONLY BE IN ONE PLACE AT A TIME BUT GOD IS EVER PRESENT

IF ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU SEE THE SHADOW OF DEATH, IT IS BECAUSE THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IS THERE

I DECREE TO ALL THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE TRUSTING GOD FOR THE FRUIT OF THE WOMB, YOU WILL NOT DIE BARREN!

GOD WILL ALWAYS SAY TO YOU, FEAR NOT, WHEN THERE IS SOMETHING TO FEAR OR A REASON TO FEAR.

“WHOSE REPORT ARE YOU GOING TO BELIEVE?” DETERMINES WHETHER YOU HAVE FAITH OR FEAR

Satan IS A LIAR; AS A CHILD OF GOD DON’T BELIEVE HIM, BELIEVE GOD INSTEAD

– Pastor E. A. Adeboye on “FOR WHOM THE HEAVENS OPEN – Part 40” at RCCG Online Sunday Service || 25th February, 2024 ||

We are moving on to Part 40 in our series and we are still looking at the same text, Joshua 8:1-2. There’s something called the Law of Priority. It means what is uppermost in your heart is what you will attend to first. You know the Bible says out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks; so when out of abundance of heart your mouth is about to speak, what your mouth will speak first will be what is a priority among all the other things that you’re going to say. Church Gist. The first thing God said to man in Genesis 1:26-28 is, “Be fruitful,” then he went on to say, “multiply.” “Be fruitful” – that’s priority. Even on the basis of that alone, I have the privilege of decreeing to all those of you who are trusting God for the fruit of the womb, you will not die barren!

The first thing God said to Joshua here is, “Fear not.” Now, God will always say to you, fear not, when there is something to fear, when you have reason to fear. Like I’ve always told you, if you see an angel for the first time, you will be afraid – I guarantee you. … Because an angel is not that picture you see oh – a baby with wings – that one, demons. An angel is huge, if you want to know how big an angel can be, you know the plane called 747? An angel can carry a 747 in the palm of hand like a toy. That will tell you how big an angel can be. There’s no human being who will see somebody that big and will not be afraid. Church Gist. So the first thing an angel will say to you is, “Fear not,” because you have something to fear. In the case of Joshua, put yourself in the shoes of Joshua, if you are someone that had thought that you can never never fail, you can never be defeated and all of a sudden you found yourself flat on your face, you will be afraid. I have told you in the past, if you fight against God, you will lose. There’s nobody who can fight against God and win, that is simple. But I’ve also told you, if God is neutral, if he is not fighting you but he is not helping you, you will lose! Joshua had discovered that in a very dramatic manner and he was afraid. “Okay, I’ve restituted my ways, I’ve killed Achan o God, what next now? What is my future going to be like?” I pray once again, from this moment onward you will never suffer another defeat! So God said, alright, let’s begin where we should begin, “fear not.” I pray for all of us who have something to fear right now, in the name that’s above every other name, whatever is causing your fear will disappear!

Fear is a terrible thing, it’s a tormentor. 1 John 4:18. When somebody is afraid it’s like somebody who is being tormented. Somebody who has a problem and the problem is tormenting you – you have a situation you can’t handle, a situation you cannot deal with on your own, a situation where you don’t know what’s going to happen next. Church Gist. That can be tormenting. Fear is the opposite of faith and we need to really understand what fear is. Today I pray that the Almighty God will give me the ability to really explain to you what fear is so that you won’t fear anymore.

Fear is the opposite of faith: it is based on whose report are you going to believe? That’s the foundation of fear. Are you going to believe the report of the Lord or are you going to believe the report of the devil? That’s what determines whether you have faith or you have fear. Isaiah 53:1. Whose report are you going to believe because fear is actually saying, “you can believe the report of the devil.” Church Gist. But why should you believe the report of the devil? After all you should know that John 8:44 tells us that, satan is a liar, not an ordinary liar but the father of lies. He is lie personified – satan. It is satan who says, “ah, you’re in trouble. Ah, you’re not going to escape this one. Hey, you’re caught now. There’s no future for you.” But he’s a liar; as a child of God don’t believe satan, believe God instead.

Whose report are you going to believe? Is it the report of the devil or the report of men? The Doctors said you have Cancer; it is stage 4, it has spread, there’s nothing more we can do. Whose report are you going to believe? Is that the report of the Lord? Don’t you know it is written: Romans 3:3-4. Church Gist. The report of God is what is important. “Oh, but it is a specialist who has spoken.” Ah, haven’t you read that in Jeremiah 17:5, that cursed is the man who puts his trust in man? Yes, science may say something (laughs) but what is God saying? Faith says, I believe God’s report; fear says, I believe the report of man.

I’m sure those of you who are old will remember the story of one of my children who was a soap maker and on a Saturday night because he knew he won’t be coming to work on Sunday decided to mix the chemicals that he will use for his soap making the following Monday. In the process, he fell and a bowl of acid fell and splashed on his face. He was in agony for hours because everybody had closed and had gone to work. Until a man was passing by and saw the door of his factory opened and he went in and saw him on the ground and they rushed him to the hospital. Church Gist. After the Doctor had treated him, the Doctor began to ask him questions. “Have you a child?” Yes. “Old enough to be about so many years old?” He said yes…and so on and so forth. Finally he asked the doctor, “why are you asking these questions?” The Doctor said, “because you will never see again.” The acid had already eaten up your eyes. So you’re going to need somebody who will be leading you by the hand from now on. He said to the doctor, is that so? The Doctor said, without any doubt. He said, thank you very much. “Could you help me a little further? Get me a taxi, let them take me to Redemption Camp. Let me go to my Father in the Lord let me go and hear the report of the Lord. I have heard your report.” They brought him here  and I am telling you, when I saw his face, even my own faith shook. But I have to put up a bold face and prayed and said, “there’s nothing God cannot do,” which is true.” I am saying to someone here today listening to me,  your own case will not be impossible with God. We prayed a simple prayer, we cried to the Almighty God, the maker of eyes and that man lived for several more years without using glasses. Church Gist. The Almighty God who can restore, the one who can reverse the irreversible is the one whose report you should believe and his report to you today is that, that thing you consider irreversible shall be reversed.

Who is stronger? Is it the devil or God? Jeremiah 32:27; Luke 1:37. The meaning of nothing is not a thing – you can’t find anything that is too hard for God to do. Genesis 18:9-14. The question, “whose report are you going to believe?” Church Gist. Your own report that says it’s too late for you? Or the report of the Almighty, the God of all flesh? Who is stronger – you or God? If God says, I can do it, it’s done. I pray for all of you who are facing what will look like impossibilities – even before the end of this month, you will have cause to shout halleluyah!

Who is the most influential? … because when we are talking about the report that we will believe, the issue of influence can play a part (laughs). I mean you can go to court and the High Court can say, you’re guilty. You can go to the Appeal Court, the Appeal Court can say, “ehn, you’re free, you can go.” Church Gist. Or the High Court can say, you’re guilty, the Appeal Court can say you’re guilty but the Supreme Court can say, “don’t mind them.” If the Supreme Court says, “hey, you’re discharged and acquitted,” no High Court judge can say, no. Why? Influence – Someone is higher than someone else. Church Gist. Who is the highest? Psalm 91:1; Ecclesiastes 5:8. You can think of anybody who you think is the highest, there is somebody who is higher than him still. That’s the Almighty God; his report is the one you should believe. Isaiah 66:1. That means the highest man in the world, the man with the highest authority on Earth, sitting on his highly exalted throne – that throne is still under the feet of the Almighty God. Church Gist. Isaiah 66:1 – I have more influence than anybody else. That’s the one you should believe, that’s the one you should trust. That’s why you shouldn’t fear because he is the Supreme Court. The Bible calls him, “the Judge of the Universe.” His own court is higher than any other court anywhere.

“Why should you not fear?” asks the question, “who is all knowing?” Oh, the devil may know a little bit about your future but the Elders have a saying that, “the High Priest of the devil can see at least 4 days ahead.” That’s why they have to check their oracle every 5 days but the Almighty God knows the end from the beginning. Church Gist. Revelation 1:8; Acts 15:18; Isaiah 46:9-10. There’s only one person who knows your end and he knows your end even from your beginning. He’s the one whose report you should believe. He’s the one who knows your tomorrow.

Who is Omnipresent? Who is the one who is everywhere at all times? Oh, as fearful as the devil may be to you, he can only be in one place at a time but God is ever present, anywhere you are he is there. Psalm 46:1. Oh, you may be in a strange land, he is there – don’t be afraid. You may be in the air, he’s there. You may be in the Sea, he’s there. He’s everywhere at all times. Church Gist. Don’t be afraid. While the devil is walking about seeking whom he may devour – 1 Peter 5:8, the Bible tells me in 2 Chronicles 16:9, the eyes of the Lord are running to and fro throughout the whole Earth to show himself strong on behalf of those who are doing his will. Like someone said, there are 2 people: one is walking, the other is running, who is likely to arrive first? So you find yourself in trouble and the devil says, hey I’ve got you, there’s somebody who is running who has seen what is about to happen before they could happen.

You know what? David said something in Psalm 23:4. Somebody explained that to say that, the reason there is a shadow is because there is a Sun shining and the Almighty God is the Sun of righteousness – Malachi 4:2. Church Gist. So if all of a sudden you see the shadow of death, don’t be afraid, the shadow of death can only appear because the Sun is there. That fellow went on to say, “oh the lion can kill but the shadow of a lion is harmless.” The shadow will not harm you, can’t harm you, because the Sun of righteousness is always there by your side shining.

Why should you be afraid when God is on your side? Have you forgotten that he is a miracle worker? Isaiah 9:6; Exodus 15:11; Daniel 6:25-27. Church Gist. So God is saying to somebody today, fear not; just believe me. He went on to tell him as you read further, “I am your God, fear not.” So I am saying to all children of God today, put fear away from you.

You know, I came to live in Redemption Camp almost 40 years ago now, I came with my wife and my little children, to come and live in a jungle surrounded by pythons, poisonous snakes, by a highway that was notorious for highway robbers. As a matter of fact, Redemption Camp then was in a jungle which was the Headquarters of highway robbers because when we were walking through the bush we saw where the highway robbers used to come to open the boxes they steal from people they rob. Church Gist. Somebody said, “how could you do that? Weren’t you afraid?” I have discovered that if God is on your side, you have nothing to fear. But it is God who pointed out this jungle to me and said, “hey, that’s the City I promised you and I’m with you.” If God is with you, who can be against you?

I am crying to God for you, those of you who are my children that from now on, you will only believe the report of the Lord. You will not believe the report of the devil, you won’t believe the report even of the best physician, you will believe only the report of the Lord and the report of the Lord is saying, “it shall be well with you, He will be with you. Church Gist. Achan is gone now, from now on it’s going to be well with you.”

As for those of you who have not given your life to Jesus Christ, you have cause to be afraid o because Jesus Christ said those who are not with me are against me and if you’re against God, you’re in trouble – serious trouble. Church Gist. If you’re against God, you can’t win. So please, surrender to God now, if you surrender to him he will take care of you.
