THE HEAVENS WILL OPEN UNTO US AND GOD WILL TRANSFORM US FROM GLORY TO GLORY

Praise the Lord!
As we continue with our series, “For Whom The Heavens Open (Part 6)”. We will still be continuing the gleanings from what happened when the heavens opened unto Moses. Church Gist. Our text is Exodus 17:8-14. The heavens opened unto Moses and suddenly, Moses became a man with special hands. In the story we read, the children of Israel were on their way to the promised land and the children of Amalek attacked them from the back where women, children and old men were. The children of Israel had been in bondage in Egypt for 430 years. Because they were slaves, they were not allowed to learn war because if they learnt war, they could have turned against their captors. So they were bricklayers, building pyramids and doing that kind of menial jobs. Church Gist. They didn’t know war. So when Amalek came, Amalek thought that they will be a mere run over. But then, Moses chose Joshua and told him to get as many swords as he can find. He told him to get some men so they can have some resemblance of an army. Moses said he will go to the top of the mountains and raise his hands to the Almighty God. He took 2 people with him and as he raised his hands, his hands made contact with heaven and strange things began to happen.
The army of Joshua began to defeat the well trained, organized army of Amalek. But then, Moses was a man. After lifting up his hands for some minutes, the hand became heavy and the hands began to go down. As soon as the hands began to go down, the battle turned and the Amalekites began to prevail. Aaron and Hur observed what was going on and very quickly, discerned what to do. Church Gist. They could easily have said, ‘Sir, rest. We will raise our own hands. We have seen you doing it so let’s do the same. We will have 4 hands now raised instead of 2.” If they had done that, the battle would have been lost. But they were intelligent enough to know that all hands are not the same. So they quickly arranged for Moses to be comfortable; they raised his hands and the battle was won.
Who is Moses for whom the heavens opened?
When the heavens open unto you, your hands can become special hands.
How come the hands of Moses became special hands?
This is because his hands touched the holy ground. Exodus 4:2-4. Even an ordinary rod touching holy ground can become something else. Church Gist. Exodus 4:6-7. Moses’ hand underwent a transformation and the hands were never the same again. So who is Moses? Moses is the man with special hands.
It was not only his hands that became special; his legs became special because when he removed his shoes, (remember he was told to take off shoes) his bare legs touched the holy ground and those legs were never the same again. Exodus 14:21-28. Church Gist. His legs walked on a path that nobody had ever walked before. The legs became special. We have prayed that the heavens will open unto you so that your hands can become special hands. Mark 16:17-18. It takes special hands to heal the sick. It’s not just anybody who can lay hands on the sick and expect the miracle of healing.
There was a man of God who said that if there is nothing (no anointing) in your hand, don’t lay it on my head. He said, don’t lay empty hands on my head. Church Gist. Go and look for somebody with an empty head and lay your empty hands on their empty heads. Lay it on them until all the hairs on their head drop off.
– I am praying for all of you – true believers, that the heavens will open unto you. That from now, any time you lay hands on the sick they will recover! Church Gist. That your hands will become special hands. That handkerchiefs will leave your hands to go and perform miracles.
But then, your legs can also become special legs. Isaiah 52:7; Matthew 28:18-20. If you will go evangelizing, the Almighty God will make sure your very feet will begin to turn the territory of satan to the territory of the Most High God. This because he said, ‘I will be with you when you go witnessing. Church Gist. You will be amazed how many miracles begin to happen.’ Someone had said, how come so many miracles happen through the ministry of Evangelists? It is because they “go” They go from place to place witnessing for Jesus Christ and they don’t go alone. God goes with them.
– I am praying that as you make this year a very special year for soul winning, the Almighty God will make your legs special legs.
Who is Moses? Moses is a man with special hands. Hands that can win wars, put the enemy to shame. He is a man with the shining face. Exodus 34:29-33. Why? Because he had seen God. Exodus 33:17-23. Church Gist. Moses caught a glimpse of the glory of the Most High God and from that day on till he died, his face continued to shine. You know, one of the beauties of open heavens is that God comes down and the grace to see God is made available.
– I am praying for every one of you who had never caught a glimpse of the glory of God that this year, you will begin to catch glimpses of God even if it is in your dreams. Then your face will begin to shine.
Notice that the same thing happened in Acts 6:9-15. The Bible tells us that all those who ganged up against Stephen looked at his face and his face was shining like that of an angel. Church Gist. You know it is within the power of the Almighty God to make you younger. It is within the power of God that people will look at you and when you tell them your age, they say that can’t be true because what they will see will be the glory of God.
– I am praying that one of the things that God will do for you this year as the heavens come down is that: he will renew your age like the eagles. He will cause you to be younger, stronger and more effective.
I remember the testimony of one of my daughters at the University of Ibadan (by the grace of God she’s still alive and well) in one of the services I went to hold there. The Word of God came and said, there is someone here, I have reduced your years by 10. Church Gist. The woman grabbed it and said, it’s me. Unbelievable as it sounds, suddenly people saw her looking at least 10 years younger. That was years ago; she’s still alive today, healthy and strong.
May I decree in the name that is above every other name: the heavens will open unto you today and God will renew your age, make you younger and stronger!
I will share another testimony: (I believe this is a message for someone in particular) we held a Holy Ghost Service in London. Over there they call it FOL (Festival of Life). There was a woman who came from America to visit her siblings in London; heard about the Holy Ghost Service and decided to attend. Church Gist. A word came that there was a woman there and God says, I am renewing your age. I am reducing your age by 10. She said, that must be me. She believed it so firmly that she turned to her sibling and said, don’t call me aunty any more. I am 10 years younger now; I am younger than some of you. Few minutes later, the Word of God came again: there is someone here well beyond child bearing. Church Gist. Because I have reduced your years, by this time next year you will come rejoicing with your baby. The woman almost wept.
Those who don’t believe don’t need to believe but that woman came back the following year with her child.
– I pray in the name that is above every other name that the heavens will open and those that they say are already beyond having children by this next year, you will be dedicating your children.
The man with the shining face. The man who saw God, who beheld God. Church Gist. There is a passage in the Bible that tells us that as we behold God even as if in a mirror, we are transformed from glory to glory just as the image of the Almighty God.
– I am praying today, that the heavens will open unto us, that God himself will reveal himself unto us, that he will transform us from glory to glory.
Transformation from glory to glory implies transformation from success to success. Like I have explained to you before, glory is the opposite of shame. Church Gist. I have told you all those things that can cause shame: failure, incurable disease, poverty, etc. If we are transformed from glory to glory, it means we will be transformed from success to success. It means failure will become a stranger to us. It means we will be transformed from health to health. Those of us will become healthier. Those who are sick will no longer be sick. One of the things that can cause shame is stagnation. Church Gist. Being on the same spot for years, no promotion. This year as the heavens open, in the name that is above every other name, we will be transformed from promotion to promotion.
We went to the Americans. We were in Los Angeles and on Holy Ghost Night there, one young man was giving a testimony. The testimony was that he went for ordination, came back and was sacked. He said, ‘God, is the anointing to make me jobless?’ Church Gist. But then, a message came that the Almighty God will do a new thing. He applied and got 2 jobs. He now had a problem, which one to choose. He chose one and said, in less than one year, he had been promoted 3 times.
Now, that is the kind of testimony I will be hearing from you this year so that your face will begin to shine, so you will be younger. Church Gist. You will be more successful, move from glory to glory even as you behold the face of the Almighty God.
