FORCES OF REVIVAL 5 – THEY SHALL RUN.
Our objective tonight is to understand the secrets of Kingdom runners. What is it that makes runners in the Kingdom?
Joel 2:4, 7 &9.
The summary is that the end time army is an army of runners. They shall run. There is no room for crawlers, no provision for sitters not to talk of walkers. The only people permitted in the army are runners. They shall run, that is why everything that has put your life in a stationary position, tonight that spell must be broken. That is why every delay, every power of procrastination in your life must die. You need to be able to fulfil life assignments within time allotments. We do not have eternity to fulfil destiny, we only have time. When we were in Leeds the other day, my daughter came to me in the hotel. That is Debby, we were seated and we were talking. She was talking about how the program went and everything. I said to her that today has come and we are in the evening now, this day will never come again forever. Church Gist. This day with the exact combination of events, situations and opportunities will never come again. I think she was asking why I do the things I do with the force with which I do them. I said to her, forever and ever today has passed. Everything that should be done today that has not been done has gone forever. Tears filled her eyes. She said you are telling me something Sir.
It is an army of runners. The challenge why the move of God has been delayed is because there are many crawlers praying for revival, many persons seated praying for revival, many people walking asking God for revival. God said I am not talking about people like you, I am looking for runners. I am looking for people with the electricity of motion, people with the mentality of alacrity. I am looking for people with an unusual sense of urgency to confront the forces of hell with the force of urgency. Church Gist. I am looking for people living life on the edge, I am looking for people who are ready to put the devil under pressure. I am looking for people who are ready to give the devil no breathing space, people who are ready to give the devil full marking. You know how they play football, they just earmark a particular player and they say just handle him very well. Anywhere this one goes, this one goes. Just tackle him very well. Father, I am through with just sitting, I am through with crawling, in the name of Jesus tonight I shall run. I shall run into the fulfilment of destiny. I shall run into the fullness of God’s purpose. I shall run into the camp of the enemy and devastate the devil.
What makes runners? What should you do to be a runner?
1. Possess vision.
Habakkuk 2:2. Vision makes runners. When you see beyond where you are when you see what Jehovah sees. When you see into the plan and purpose of God for the hour. When you see the burden of Jehovah for the season, it will make you run. When you see what is of concern to God for your nation. When you know what is of concern to God for the assignment you are doing. When you take delivery of the fullness of the purpose of God which is called vision, you will be restless. It makes runners, it puts you on your toes. Do you know why some of us run so much? We see what he showed us that should be possible versus what we are seeing and it doesn’t match. Church Gist. While people are praising you, you are telling them they don’t know what you are talking about. You are not seeing what I am seeing. There are revelations we can’t share, they are too sacred to be shared. In the fullness of time, we shall share them. When you see people talking carelessly about the things they see and hear, they don’t know God at all. They are just there for braggadocious purposes. Paul the Apostle said there are things I have seen that I can’t share with you. It is even too heavy for mouths to utter. There are things I have seen I have not even shared with my wife. All you will ask God is to give you access to your mindset for the hour. Access into your heart, access into your concerns, access into your burden for my life and my generation, your burden for my assignment currently, just give me access. When you see it, it will make you run. You will just be on the run, people won’t know what is making you run but you are seeing things.
The other day I was talking about how much money we spent on the conference in Leeds. People came from everywhere. I said the renting of the hall, the sound and the systems were about 250,000 pounds. Would you like to convert it? A hundred thousand pounds is how much in Nigerian Naira now? #1200 to £ 1. £100,000 is #120,000,000, another £100,000 is #240,000 million. Then the £50,000 on top. #300,000,000. When I said that the other day, one of the members of the church asked is that what it costs. Church Gist. Going forward I seize from just looking for how to survive. For the sake of the Kingdom, I must make money. I must be a millionaire, I must be a billionaire to be able to undertake this kind of program and clean it up. That kind of person will be a runner. He is not pursuing money now for the sake of just making money. There is a kingdom vision that is behind the pursuit and conquest of wealth. That is how runners are made. Vision brings forth acceleration.
2. Strive for excellence.
1 Corinthians 9:24-26. What is the meaning of striving for excellence? Striving to become everything God wired you to become. Striving to arrive at every possibility that is connected to inherent ability. People, let me tell you: until you and I see Christ face to face, there is one more soul to win. There is one more church to plant. Church Gist. There is one more crusade to organize, there is one more devil to cast out until we see Jesus face to face. I want to say this and don’t forget it forever: your calling is not a destination, it is an adventure. You don’t arrive at the place called your calling, the journey continues until you see your Caller.
So you are sitting down there, “we have organised 50 crusades, planted 30 Churches” and everybody is clapping for you that nobody around you has done such a thing before. Church Gist. So you just settle down there. You see, many times people that the Earth is clapping for, Heaven is mourning for them because it’s like, look at your possibilities, potentials and see where you are.
A man by the name Charles Wesley wrote 6,000 songs. How many musicians in our generation have been able to push out even 2,000. I released one album or 2 or 3 and everybody celebrated me and with that album I went everywhere – I have arrived; and Heaven is crying. That was why Apostle Paul said, forgetting the things that are behind, I am reaching forth to the things that are in front. Philippians 3:12-13. Church Gist. If you will only understand that the best is still in front and that anywhere you have been through is called wilderness, no matter how successful you are, it has been wilderness compared to where you are meant to step into then you will wake up. You know in the Military if you behave so dull they say, “my friend wake up!” I am sure Heaven will be telling some of us, wake up friend!
Beloved brothers and sisters, everyday you wake up in the morning, convince yourself that there is something ahead of you that you have not yet touched. There is a glory you have not yet touched. There is a mantle you have not yet seen. After 33 years of ministry, Paul the Apostle cried, that I may know him and the power of his resurrection. Billionaire Christian man, millionaire Christian man, I want you to understand that you are in the business world on a mission and God is looking at you and seeing the extent to which you are willing to conquer the wealth of the Earth which belongs to him in order to push Kingdom agenda. Church Gist. You paid the little tithe of 100 million or whatever it is and you beat your chest as if the Church should praise you. God is saying, “no, inside your program I wanted only you to be able to build this kind of Church – this one that has roof in millions of Dollars. I had put in you a capacity to do that – only you; and build like a 100 of this type around the Earth. You are there driving with escort and thinking you have arrived. You do one small thing, you blow the trumpet. If you’re blowing your trumpet for doing this tiny what will you do when you do the major ones I wanted you to do?
Beloved, on this journey of life and destiny there is no place to settle. You come around the military barracks and they say, “keep moving keep walking.” Just keep taking steps. That is the kind of people that God is looking for in this end time force – a people on the run.
3. Hate the oppressor and his oppression: you will be looking for where to manhandle the devil. Acts 10:38. Did you see the word I used, manhandle – humiliate, frustrate, destroy. Think of all the afflictions that the devil is causing on the Earth and get angry. Church Gist. Think even over your own life and family, all the times the devil wanted to kill you before your time and wanted to stop you from becoming anything and get angry. You know, David brought down Goliath by anger. If you hear his statement, you will hear the anger inside. 1 Samuel 17:26.
I told you yesterday that there is a connection between anger and unction. That is why I believe there was a command, be angry but sin not. 1 Samuel 17:48-51. Church Gist. Anger makes you run. Have you seen someone who is provoked before and he ran towards the provoker? He charges towards the provoker – that is what anger does for you. Charge and run! If you will run, the enemy will flee. If you know how to charge and run, you will put the enemy and his forces on flight.
– I prophesy: God will place a dose of holy anger in your spirit tonight, exactly what he feels about the wickedness of the devil in the Earth and you will manhandle the devil.
4. Company with runners: Jeremiah 12:5. Association determines acceleration. Company determines velocity. Many years ago I was traveling to Lokoja – this will be almost 20 years ago, early times of the Church may be 21 or 22 years ago. The car we had, the eye sight either had glaucoma or cataract or something. So it was not good and it was in the night. So that automatically affected our speed and we were moving very slow. Until a Land Cruiser – 4 wheel drive came from our back with light that flooded the whole road. From our back we were using his light to see front. Church Gist. I said, road master has arrived. As soon as he overtook us I said, “driver, associate.” We were struggling with potholes before but now it was over. That was how we following him, went through the potholes and went our way. As soon as we arrived the City, everybody went his way. That was the first time it occurred to me that association is a foundation for acceleration. Who you walk with will determine how far you can run. Proverbs 13:20. If you keep the company of crawlers, you will be crawling and you will think you are succeeding because every other person is crawling. If you keep the company of fliers you will fly.
The other day I told Pastor George (Izunwa) and said, “By now you should be an Archbishop.” He said, “Archbishop over nothing.” Because when we first met he has already been penned down to be ordained a Bishop – 13, 14 years ago. When I went to his Church, with all humility, I don’t have any plan to … That sanctuary there, I don’t know the capacity – a thousand or 2 thousand at the most. Church Gist. That’s full program, people were just inside and gallery was not… (Filled). This guy, his bishopric is very soon.
That was how before you can say praise the Lord, the mantle just shifted that work, shifted it and sanctuary filled and overflowed, road overflooded. They got a big land like a 100 plots to go and do something like a camp ground or a permanent site. The struggle there was too much. He said there is a land somewhere; I said, don’t struggle to go into that place now – a distant place; calm down. There’s something nearby here, go there. It’s like 5 minutes or 6 minutes walk or drive from the current Church and it’s sizeable like 40 plots there – that is the one to go now. Decree was made and he stepped in there. Explosion! One service on Sunday over 10,000 people counted, people everywhere apart from satellites planted in Church. He came into the company of runners and realized that he was settled. He would have remained in that settled position till now.
There is no entitlement in titles – according to what my Papa Oyedepo said. The title without the mantle equals the battle because you need to battle to defend the title. I want someone to know that they are in the company of runners. They just showed you on the screen now that within FCT, people are everywhere. They are there meeting like this now all across the country and all across the world. Church Gist. Our Father, God’s servant Bishop Oyedepo is running like fire. One year 10,000 churches were planted. I think the first one was 5,000 the next one was 10,000, I think the other one was almost 20,000 in a year and you are there settled and they are clapping for you that you planted five churches. I release in this company the mantle for running. Every spell of delay is over forever.
5. Possess Light.
The example I just showed you now shows that if you have light you will move fast. The light we are talking about is revelation. Galatians 2:2. Revelation brings both elevation and acceleration. There is something God will show you from the Bible that will put you on your toes. Church Gist. There is something God will show you from His Word that will keep you on your toes. You just become restless. I received light in the healing ministry some time ago and that pushed me. Possess light. Lord, show me something from your Word that will put me on my toes.
6. Wait on the Lord.
Isaiah 40:31. Waiting on the Lord is a trigger for running. What happens is you muster enough strength for running. We talked about the horse this morning and you know that the secret of the horse’s speed is horse strength. Those who get addicted to food even physically are sluggish. How easy is it for you to run after you just finished eating very well. There are those who are very sizable, that their size is follow come but there are those who are very sizable from food. I saw somebody eating one day and you would not believe it. The whole plate was food, there was a mountain. Church Gist. Ice cream, coke and Fanta all together at once. Would you like to lose weight a little bit? He said, “But I don’t really eat.” All that? So if you really eat what will happen? You will swallow a camel. I used to pull the legs of some people. I tell them I wish I had this kind of size, I will hide under it and fast very well. The way I look now, if I fast small people will catch me. They tell me my face is somehow. That is in the physical. Those who wait on the Lord there is an Impartation of strength that makes you a spiritual runner. Waiting on the Lord.
7. Connect the hand of the Lord.
The hand of the Lord on a man makes it impossible for him to crawl. Lay your hands upon me Lord, oh Lord I need your hands. 1 Kings 18:46. Acts 10:38. That hand of the Lord is interconnected with the Spirit of the Lord and interconnected with the anointing. Psalm 89:20-21. The hand of the Lord and the anointing of the Lord are connected. No wonder when God placed His hand on Jesus he moved. Whatever you do to ensure that God places His hand on you at the place of intimacy, at the place of communion, at the place of prayer, you will be a runner. At times the people that move with me are the people I pity. Most of them take time to recover. In some meetings, their eyes are open but you are aware that they are not there. Church Gist. One day we finished a night vigil in Area One and I told my wife that the way I was feeling I could go for another six hours. I just wished the service continued for another six hours. She said Well done Sir. You can continue service, let us the normal human beings go and sleep. I said what do you mean? Are you saying I am not normal? She said I don’t know where you are operating from. The hand of the Lord. Don’t contend with a man who carries the hand of the Lord. He ran faster than a royal chariot. That is why some people have to almost turn into native doctors in an attempt to achieve what the hand of the Lord is accomplishing. Try to achieve what the hand of the Lord is accomplishing. When the hand of the Lord is upon a tadpole, that tadpole will sink a shark. When the hand of God places you on a bicycle, that bicycle will overtake a Gulf Stream aircraft. Father, I need your hand on my mind to run the race in this end time.
8. Drop every weight: it is confirmed that weight is the enemy of sped. Romans 12:1-2; Hebrews 12:1. Both weight and sin will impede your speed. There are things that are weights – they are not sins but they are weights. Church Gist. A weight is anything that slows you down. Too much time on the phone can become a weight.
I receive so much calls until I came to the point where I place the phone on ‘Do not disturb,’ because I bought the phone, the phone didn’t buy me. I am to use the phone, the phone is not permitted to use me. Most times when it is on the mode the people who attempt to call you see the missed calls. So when I see it and see someone that needs an answer may be my Father in the Lord or may be something that is positively contributing to life assignment, (I call back). Church Gist. The text messages, as many as possible, I answer them especially urgencies. Some, I call them. Social media, WhatsApp, can become a weight of life drastically cutting down on your prayer time, meditation time, time to access revelation from the Word. Endless discussions, unprofitable associations and friendships, probably brought together by the commonality of enmity – you are only friends because one person is the enemy of both of you. There are people you need to offload from your destiny. They are not your enemy, they are also not your friend – you know them.
These days on social media, I have 5,000 friends on Facebook. The word, friends has become so useless. Somebody you don’t know from anywhere is a friend. You’re a born again, tongue talking Christian, that woman is a prostitute in a brothel or a killer in a gang is your friend? How many friends have invited people to their deaths? Church Gist. These are all weights. There are times you fast from food, drink, do you know that Israel fasted from talk before the wall of Jericho collapsed? In the course of talking unbelief, grumbling escapes and power leakage happens. Talkativeness is leakage of power. Your words carry weight when they are spoken at the right time. You’re on the phone until you are going to the pulpit to preach? What are you going to talk? Joshua 6:10.
All the listed points are wrapped up in one word, “The decision to run.” Having done all of these, decide to run. Hebrews 12:1. You must make up your mind that no devil will slow you down. The devil said, “why are you still preaching? You don’t have this and that.” You say the devil you know what? I am going to do these things and the devil does not slow you down. I made up my mind many years ago that I am not going to do ordinary ministry, ordinary Church work. I made up my mind that my assignment will be revolutionary. Many of the people seated here, when I was talking from the beginning, some of them didn’t understand. Church Gist. You remember many years ago at the beginning of our Church, you know this mobile phone that is 120,000 for one in those days, I said very soon everybody will own a mobile phone. It will be so abundant that we may have to tell people to switch off their phones inside the service. That time it was like madness. We said that then and that time a Church of 1,000 people at the most, 5 people or few will own that Nokia. It was a symbol of status.
Then we said, what we are doing from here will ring around the world. Nations will come, we will catch them on fire and send them back. At that time, not a nation. We are talking of 45 nations today apart from literally a hundred and ninety something to 200 connected right now. Church Gist. You decide that the gods of your father’s house can slow anybody down but not you. From the line where I have come from, nobody has reached where we are today. That the forces of witchcraft cannot stop you. That the territorial powers of the territory where you are cannot localize you.
