Day 18 Morning Session,
21 Days of Prayer and Fasting (10th to 30th January 2022)
Father again today we thank you, thank you for answered prayers, we give you all the glory. Right now by your word speak to us again. Transform our lives and let your name be glorified. In Jesus mighty name we pray.
In our morning prayers all through this week, the subject we are looking at is PRAYING ANSWER EXPECTANT PRAYER. It has been established and this is very clear from scriptures that God is only committed to deliver only what we expect in prayer not just what we say in prayer. As a woman I know this simple fact, if you desire to prepare a specific meal there are ingredients required for any specific meal. There are certain ingredients that are referred to as optional, there are others that are not optional, they are necessary. If you don’t put the necessary ingredients, it will affect your end product. Church Gist. Many people eat certain foods and make comments like ‘it’s not good’, ‘it is not what I expected’. Most likely the necessary ingredients were not present and if present, were not applied at the appropriate time. It is the same thing in prayers, there are certain necessary ingredients that must be present, ingredients that you cannot do without if you want to enjoy the end product. Such ingredients that are necessary for answered prayers, one of such is expectation. If you and I must get results to our prayers, expectation is not optional. It is necessary, it is compulsory, it must be present.
- From this season our prayers shall no longer lack answers.
Proverbs 23:18, 24:14
Thy expectation, not thy sayings shall not be cut off. So every time you come to the altar of prayer, check your expectation level because if it is not in place it will automatically affect the end product. What then is expectation? No assumption. The word expectation simply means to anticipate with confidence of fulfillment or assurance. In other words, you are looking forward to something and you are doing that with assurance. Now the question is, today is the third day of the sixth module of three days prayers and after today we enter the last three modules, what do you expect? What are you looking forward to seeing whether in our corporate prayers or your own personal, individual prayer time with God. Church Gist. Time is running out, the 21 days are almost ending but you are not permitted to return after these 21 days the same way you came. What do you look forward to? What do you see ahead of you? You started, for instance, looking for a miracle job. Do you still see yourself at the end of these 21 days still in search of a job? God can’t only give you a job, He can turn you into an employer of labour. What do you look forward to with assurance that by the time this 21 days fasting and prayer are over will be done. Don’t see yourself just being healed, see God releasing healing virtues into your hand for the liberation of mankind.
In the early days of this commission, many times when we were very many in service, we were 17 to 21 people but you see God’s servant preaching, sweating in his three piece suit. Those suits were soaked with sweat and he kept on declaring that there is an invisible crowd of people outside that this auditorium cannot contain, today it has more than become a reality. - Your story must change for the better, your season of transformation is finally here.
We see in the scriptures an example of Abraham’s servant. Genesis 24:7,12,15. As we begin to round up these days, begin to look out for angelic visitation.
- This day, something good will happen to someone.
It happened that same day, before he was done speaking the rest is history. He prayed specificly, answer expectant ‘this day’. Not tomorrow, not next year, this day. Church Gist. Once you and I put our expectation in place, the God who made it happen for the servant of Abraham will also make it happen for us. He is also our God. - That situation that you left back home as a challenge before this prayer and fasting began would have been turned into a testimony.
Mark 11:24.
Every time you stand to pray, check your level of expectation because that will determine the answer you receive from the Lord. We must ensure that we remain confident in the reality of our expectation. Refuse to doubt the reality of scriptures. Daniel 6:10. He went back to his house expectant knowing fully well that the king could do nothing against him or his God. At the end of the day, did he come out triumphant or not?
- You are returning from this mountain triumphant.
Therefore let nothing shake your expectation when you stand before God to pray. Pray prayers full of expectations, full of anticipation.
Prayers: Thank God and receive grace that from this moment forward, your prayers shall no longer be expectation barren.
