Welcome to the last Sunday in the month of March, it is our Thanksgiving Sunday Service and also debt and death cancellation Sunday Service. Church Gist. God will cancel debt and if it is debt that is leading you to death, God will also cancel death in Jesus’ Mighty Name!
So very briefly before we switch to the Thanksgiving aspect let us take a little Charge on the focus for the month, this is our month of success and supernatural lifting, God said that we will be above only.
-May you be lifted in the Name of Jesus!
Last week we took the laws of success. Church Gist. My sons, Pastor Eddy and Pastor Kanayo took the first six laws:
- The Law of Compass which is the direction that you are going. I said something last week and some of you were confused. Any person who teaches you giving and doesn’t also teach you systems to accommodate your harvest has not helped you. A time will come and you will think that giving is a scam- There must be a system. Church Gist. And we the Pastors that are teaching it, the systems are the people that we are blessing. But you that we are blessing, you don’t have a Church that is your system so your system is your career just like a Full-time Pastor, his Ministry is the system through which God blesses him.
And if you check Luke 6:38, ‘Give and it shall be given unto you’ is the principle of giving and the system for receiving. They give you a contract, it means that you have a product that you are selling and a service that you are rendering. Church Gist. Anywhere you see money, goods and services exchanged hands but some Pastors will not tell you this- This is the balanced Gospel. That hair that you are making is your system, hold it well.
We took somebody for treatment the other day and he was treated by a medical doctor for five days and the bill was four hundred and fifty thousand naira. And because they came by my recommendation I needed to show up and I said, ‘Four hundred and fifty thousand naira? Church Gist. Just for five days oo, imagine fifty patients and the money he will be getting and you know? Some people’s own will not be simple malaria, typhoid and infection, they can be killer diseases which are not four hundred and fifty thousand naira. That is the system!
The hospital has rendered a service. So if that man goes for an Anointing Service and they anoint him to go and make wealth, that week people will fall sick and they will now be compelled to come to his system (Hospital) and take services from him and then exchange wealth and money for that service he has rendered. Church Gist. So by the law of career, we are not telling you not to give but as you give, the system must be in place and only a genuine and truthful Pastor will tell you that. Now, do you have a system to carry this blessing and harvest that is coming? No matter how ignoble and awkward your system and career may be- It is not among the best of careers, God can bless you. So nothing is too poor or small! System is system!
-I pray for every joyful and consistent giver and tither, may God create more systems for you. And the system God has created for you, you will not go down- Whether a job, career, work or person! Church Gist. That system must produce for you and nothing will attack your system (The platform through which God wants to give you your harvest) in Jesus’ Mighty Name!
- The Law of Career which is the avenue.
- The Law of Comprehension, you must have an understanding of how this thing works. Understanding is to know what is under for you to stand above all issues of life- Staying outstanding by understanding. Somebody was called to repair something and as soon as he repaired it, he gave them his bill and they said, ‘No! People have been here for days and they couldn’t do it but you came here in under five minutes and fixed it. Church Gist. And he said, ‘If you touch the bill, I will lock the door and return it to how I met it’! And they said, ‘No! Don’t return it’! There is something you know!
- Law of Competence, that is your skill.
- Law of Concentration, you have to focus. Mike Murdock said, ‘If you fail in life I can trace it to one thing- Broken focus’!
- Then, the Law of Character. I told you that even a thief needs an accountant that is not a thief. So character is vital even the devil needs to have people of character! Your character is your come-after (Outcome), don’t do business with Church people, do business with people of character- Whether it’s a muslim that comes with character, do business with them. Church Gist. But born again without character? Run for your life!
And then I see some of our members, no devil is stopping anybody, they don’t have character. Somebody will give you a job, you will say they will get it in two weeks and after six months, you are still doing ‘gragra’, continue! You only have one opportunity to deceive a customer, after that one? Forget it! Somebody was begging me a few weeks ago to forgive him, and I said, ‘The way you are begging me now is how you begged to get this work’! You no dey fear? Church Gist. ‘From when you start this madness, check the things that have happened to you!- You have buried your wife, they have smuggled your shop and they have cleared your goods’! And I said, ‘I no go forgive! There are people you don’t fight, their Spirit go finish you! Please if you don’t have character, don’t go near the business world!
The business world operates on the basis of character! Even yahoo boys when they see a lack of character, they kill themselves- That is even sinners know the role of a character. Church Gist. You wey come be Christian? My character is my peace of mind! That’s why we have never told any Pastor who left here, ‘If you talk, you will die’! I keep telling most General Overseers, there is no betrayal without a backslider, for somebody to betray you you must backside.
So it’s not the person who betrayed you that is the issue, it is you who backslide. So, cure your backsliding and you will be free from the betrayal. Church Gist. But for you to keep backsliding and saying somebody should not betray you, it’s not possible. You sleep with somebody’s wife and you say that he should be loyal, loyal as what? Can you go and cure your urge and get deliverance from people’s properties? That’s why I don’t emphasize betrayal because for you to betray me, I must betray God.
- The Law of Cost Proverbs 17:16
You will get this teaching from our mini-book, ‘The Laws of Success’. Cost implies the price you will have to pay. There is nothing of value that does not have a price tag Proverbs 17:16. One of the proof that you have a heart for that matter is that you will be ready to pay the price. The Law of Cost is the Law of Price. For every prize you want to win, there is a price you must pay- There is a ‘sleeping price’. Church Gist. If you sleep too much, success will slip out of your hands. There is the hard work price, there is the financing price where you will use your money to finance a project. In the early stage of this Ministry, I will use my money to pay salaries and sometimes we will need house rent and then I will use my money to renew the rent for an assistant Pastor, to keep the system going- Those are prices that you must pay.
Sometimes, I won’t pay my children’s school fees and I will be running the Church, that one is a continuous price oo. You can use school fees and run crusades. That business that you have, which price are you ready to pay? You can pay the wardrobe price and you won’t buy clothes for six months! Church Gist. Until you are willing to pay, nothing pays! I see some of you, the way you are going, you are going nowhere. It’s not a Prophecy oo, it is just the way you are going! So to change that, ‘You are going nowhere’, stop the way you are going’!
You can’t keep time in Nigeria and your vision is to travel abroad, the train will leave you and go. I was seriously counselling someone yesterday who was in London and I said, ‘I’m hearing a noise in the background. Church Gist. And he said, ‘I need to catch the train because if this one leaves without me joining, I would have been late for work’! And I said, ‘This one wey dey run to catch a train, if na Nigeria, e go hold em phone and say, ‘Oga! I dey come’ (Walking majestically)! The system is the reason for our failure in this country.
Somebody got an opportunity abroad to bring somebody over and then he was to bring either his brother or sister and then the leader of the company said, ‘No! You cannot manage him considering who he is to you, we need somebody that if you talk, he will listen! Church Gist. And that’s why most brothers’ and sisters’ companies don’t work. No matter how friendly you are, never be friends with your employee because if the thing fails na your name fail and the next day, dem don get another work!
Somebody can even leave you because of two thousand five hundred naira. You are paying the person fifty thousand naira and he got fifty-two thousand five hundred, e don move! Church Gist. He will say, ‘Wicked woman! He was using my star and is paying me fifty-two thousand five hundred’! He won’t even consider your leniency! Play today and you will pay tomorrow! Pay today and you will play tomorrow, the choice is yours!
Some people are already playing and relaxing! With the way their life is going, you will know that they have paid a certain price and so they are playing now. If you play with them when you have not paid your own price, you will plague your future and destiny! Church Gist. Those who play with their duties will pay with their destiny! That’s the truth. So there is a price to pay and a wise man said, ‘Responsibility is the price for greatness’! If you give it what it takes, you must get what it entails. There is a price to pay! No free lunch anywhere!
I went for an all-night one day in Ikot-Ekpene, I preached Wednesday and Thursday then vigil on Friday, I finished by 5 am and then by 10 am I was seated in Church waiting for couples to arrive for a wedding- I drove alone, no security man or personal assistant! Because I paid a certain price that if you are around me you will think that I am a wicked man. If you don’t discipline yourself, life will discipline you! No special devil is disturbing you, you only have a special nonchalant attitude to life! Church Gist. There is no price any assistant Pastor will pay that can be compared to the price I paid as an assistant Pastor! Just a small headache do your wife, you no come Church! That is not love, it is irresponsibility! Are you a medical specialist? When she had a headache, were you not going to work? Your love for God is dying!
I have left my wife for one year and three months, I still did not miss any Sunday Service! Ask Bishop Oyedepo and Pastor Abraham Ojeme when you see them! So when I see an assistant Pastor and the way you are carrying yourself, I will know that there is no future! It is not just Church oo, even in your business be careful! I trained one protocol member in this Church on how to keep secrets and he thinks that it is my secret. Church Gist. I don’t have any secret for you to keep oo. Any secret that you want to keep for me I will announce it by myself because that’s the one that you will use to threaten me by saying, ‘I will talk’!
Don’t allow anybody to keep secrets for you, talk by yourself! When they say, ‘My girl, you know that the two of us have been in this friendship for 30 years, nobody will hear’! And you say, ‘No, I have told everybody here’- You have destabilized the capacity to stress you. Church Gist. If not, anytime they want to borrow money from you, they will come with that thing (Secret) saying, ‘I been order for goods oo, they said that I need one hundred thousand naira to clear it but I have twenty thousand naira, can you give me eighty thousand naira? It’s ‘the secret’ that is making him ask for the money.
If you no give me now, I go talk! Even if you commit sin, confess am! Nobi so Iginla do? That man of God for Abuja? E go give woman belle born pikin, em wife come dey threaten am, ‘Give me one million dollars, fifty million dollars and hundred million dollars’! Church Gist. That’s why you must celebrate this kind of Church (Answers Assembly) and Pastor! You don’t hear those abominations here! He says, ‘When you carry belle born pikin wey no be our own, I no cover you? I come do my own, you wan take am finish me? Na only me dey anointed? Na em e just come Church one day, confess for altar dey cry!
Have you not heard that he that confesses his sin shall be forgiven? If men refuse to forgive you, Heaven will forgive you! I don’t know who has this Word oo, you know say every digression na somebody’s Message! If na you get am, go and confess, don’t let anybody put you under pressure! You sleep with a man and they talk say them go tell your husband. Oga! It’s better for the marriage to break than to be living in guilt! Church Gist. Summon the courage and tell the man, if he is a man indeed, he will salute your courage and move on with you but if he chooses to go, you are free! That may be the price somebody needs to pay for his or her own next level!
One time I stole something as a little child, my sister come dey threaten me. Any small thing I do, I will tell Mama. One day I go report myself telling Mama say, ‘Na me thief that thing wey dem thief that day, help me tell Papa say na me thief am’, and from that day, I do wetin I wan do nobody fit threaten me. Church Gist. And that time, the anger don reduce. There is a price to pay!
-Receive grace to pay the price!
Read books, even juju doesn’t work without a price! If dem give you juju to pass exams, you must study! I used to watch Papa Ajasco in those days, boy Alinco was failing in school, his father’s friend disguised himself as babalawo and they gave him a charm with the following instructions: You will listen in class without distractions, read two times a day, do your homework and don’t miss your classes and when you are writing exams don’t talk else the charm will not work, he applied everything as he was told and he cleared all his papers. When it was time to thank the babalawo, the babalawo unveiled his face and it was his father’s friend. Church Gist. He said, ‘Ah! Uncle! The uncle asked him to open the juju he was given as instructed to do so after his exams and it was a Blue Band butter- Something he would have used to eat bread and read well (Laughing). Whether it is God or the devil you are following, there is a price you must pay which is the cost price.
As we round up lastly,
- The Law of Choice
So you now know that there is a price, pay the price. Let them mock you but you will survive. Deuteronomy 30:19. Success answers to your choice, there is the law of choice. Church Gist. God respects your choice, your choice determines your force. It is your choice that makes you the choice of the men around you! When you choose success, people will choose you because everybody will choose a success instead of a failure.
It was Anthony Robbins who said, ‘It is at the point of decision making that destiny is decided’. You can choose what you want; at that point you are making a decision, you are deciding your destiny unknowingly. You can choose what you want but you cannot choose the consequences of what you have chosen. Church Gist. So in decision-making, you must have enough knowledge of the inevitable consequences of your decision.
In 2010, my friend and I made a decision here in Warri and I said, ‘Before I clock 40 years old, I will leave Winners Chapel’! And he said, ‘Before he clocks 50 years old, he will also leave Winners Chapel’! Our two decisions opened us to two different worlds. Church Gist. I paid a certain price and suffered certain things for that decision that I took. I woke up one day with an account of thirty-eight million naira and I woke up after some months, it was five thousand naira in that same account.
It was as if I should run mad but I understood the implication of consequences, which is, this decision will give me freedom in my old age but I will suffer the consequences now. The one who said that 50 years old will not meet him stayed there until he became 60 years old. Church Gist. Now you are telling me to join you to fight Bishop Oyedepo, now that you are living in the boys’ quarters in a member’s house, because as 60 years old hit him, he was retired!
At retirement, he had no house, not even one block anywhere! Two of us took that decision in 2010 but I understood the implication of the consequences. When I woke up with that balance of five thousand naira, it looked as if I failed, maybe as at that time, his own account might be sixty million naira. Money has wings, it can fly! It is what you do with the money that guarantees what you have done for yourself in the future, not what you spent without an investment. Church Gist. So today the two of us are still alive but one person is blaming a Father for his outcome while another person is living his life. It’s like Pastor Akpos built a house and I said, ‘Let me, Mama and the children come and live in his boys’ quarters’! God forbid! Your choice must forbid it first if not your hand go pain you!
So one person is in the member’s boys quarter while another person is in his duplex. What is the difference? I made the choice based on the consequences I know are attached to the choice! One time, that same person entered Answers Assembly and he mocked me and the person came and told me. He said, ‘He dey do Church for one place for Daniel’s Hotels wey be like shrine’! But look at the outcome today! So it is nobody’s fault because anywhere you arrive, it is your choice! I chose to succeed, no matter how difficult it is- We must succeed! So choose Success! I’m not mocking him oo because I also have some decisions that I regret!
Somebody may ask as we round up, ‘How do I make the right choice?
- The Voice of the Holy Spirit.
You must have a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit John 16:13. I know that he might enjoy more than I do as an assistant Pastor because he is working with a brand (Church) in billions but you won’t know that the billions of the Ministry are not your own until old age catches you. Church Gist. So I said that I prefer my one naira and going slowly to meet my desired future than to see the one billion naira and at the end of the day, there is no system to sustain it.
He (The Holy Spirit) will guide you into all truth about who to marry, the business to do and the ones you should not do! That is, no matter how sweet the mouth of the man is, inside his sweet mouth, the Holy Spirit can show you where the bitter kola is hiding. Church Gist. The truth is that every one of us hears his voice but we have not developed a relationship with Him to know how His voice sounds- That is when you relate with the Holy Spirit with a strong intimacy. Intimacy means, ‘Into me and see’! The way you will say, ‘Papa, this guy that I want to marry is into me’! That way you don’t want to leave that guy who is into you, that’s how you should be into the Holy Spirit.
When your boyfriend is knocking at the door, are you confused? You know your boyfriend more than ‘The Voice’. The way you take follow your boyfriend, follow the Holy Spirit that way and you will understand His Voice! The Holy Spirit is the still small Voice that will tell you, ‘My daughter, it is better to marry late and marry right than to marry early and crash! Say no to him’! He (The Holy Spirit) won’t drag you, He will go! The next time you may hear Him may be in six months time after you have wasted all your money and He will say, ‘My daughter, you have not seen anything yet, the real regret is coming in the future! Beware’! Anywhere there is regret, He spoke and you didn’t hear! Maturity is to accept that you heard Him and you missed Him!
He told me while in New York ‘I know you don’t have where to preach, won’t you go and shave your hair? Go and cut your hair’! So I left for the saloon and as I was coming, I met a girl who said, ‘You look like a Pastor and a Nigerian! And I replied, ‘Yes’! She said, ‘Ah! My daddy is from Nigeria’! Church Gist. And she told her dad about me and he asked where I came from, I replied, ‘Warri, Delta State Nigeria’. And he said he’s an Isoko man- I heard Him (The Holy Spirit). ‘Even if you are disappointed, obey him’. Because a Bishop promised me that I will preach in three Churches for three weeks and when I got there, none of the three invitations worked out!
So I was now left to myself in the hotel for the two to three weeks that I have to spend. After that conversation, the following day, I preached in the two Services and packed all the offerings and tithe that came to Church that day. He took care of all my hotel bills and told them that I am his guest. Church Gist. Even if you are discouraged, never play with His Voice! His Voice is your winning ticket! His Voice is your exit from a life of depression! ‘I know you don’t have a place to preach, just shave your hair because it’s your regular Saturday tradition; just do it’!
Some of you know that when you are not happy with your life your appearance shows it, you will look like one old woman, you will look like your great-grandmother. And someone will ask, why are you looking like this? You will say, ‘I am not happy’! Church Gist. Happiness is a choice not an experience! I was barbing the hair not having a congregation to display it to but I obeyed! The man connected me to somebody in New Jersey and I went to preach in another Church that holds evening Services. I was managing myself and my food but the man took me to an African kitchen and I ate very well. You know when you have seen poverty to the point where you will eat against the next day?
-You will not miss the Voice of the Holy Spirit oo
The truth is that we have missed his Voice so many times but we will always learn from our experiences.
- The Word of God Psalms 119:105
You cannot use another person’s headlamp to run your life, you will use your own. You know? Sometimes when you are driving at night and your own is not bright, you are always trying to be close to the person whose own is bright. After some time, he can zoom off and you are confused. Church Gist. You need your own personal light for you to have your own personal direction. So if you wanna make the right choice, be close to this Book, the Bible so that you will not meet a Prophet that will confuse you! What is God’s mind from His Word concerning this matter? - Know your purpose in life.
Myles Munroe said, ‘When the purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable’! Some of you are microphones and you want to function as a book. When you don’t know your purpose in life, you will be making regrettable mistakes and taking regrettable decisions. Church Gist. Anything goes and anything comes because you don’t know your purpose in life. When you know your purpose, there are some people that can never propose to you.
Somebody comes and he is talking to you with a cigarette in his hand. ‘Can I come and see your Pastor? If your head is correct, you will know that, ‘Me that you have seen is enough! You can’t see my mother, father or Pastor! I know what is good for me and what is not good for me! But for you to now go to the mountain and God’s Presence and say, ‘Father! Show yourself strong’! You don’t know that some husbands will say, ‘If I must smoke, you must smoke! I know one man wey dey take cocaine oo, e don bring em wife into cocaine. Church Gist. And then one day, you go dey cry, ‘Papa! Come oo’! The Spoken Word cannot work where the Written Word was betrayed. Run for your life! If it is only the wrong person that is left, die single!
- The place of proven counsellors Proverbs 15:22
It was either in 1999 or 2000 that I met Reverend Afolabi and I said, ‘Sir, I was told that I was among the first batch of Pastors that they will sack for being a school certificate holder. Church Gist. And he said, ‘How old are you? When I answered, He said this is the age that I got admission into the University. And he said, ‘Go back to school’! I met some other Pastors and they said, ‘Hey! Souls are dying and going to hell fire and you said that you are going to school, where is your love for God? That is not the right counsellor.
What he is saying is correct but in that situation, that counsel is wrong! Never tell a non-graduate to go and answer the Call! The Call does not run, it is you that is running! When you go and finish Medical school and Law school and after seven years you come back, you will still meet the Call! And I said, ‘Sir, but I have only four credits, he said start now, go and do it and a time will come and you will be glad you did! Today, I am happy! Even if I no take am do anything oo, at least, if all Pastors who are graduates are asked to come out, I will join them. If tomorrow I want to digress and forget the Ministry, I no go go? Why? I got a wise counsellor!
Somebody wanted to leave school in year two as a medical student, so he went to an Evangelist for counselling! And he said, ‘Man of God! This is the Endtime Spirit that we need in this time, how can souls be saved and you are reading medicine? What will you do with medicine? ‘As you leave school now, I declare that you will win souls’! Church Gist. How can you win souls when you have wounded your own soul? And then he stepped out of medical school and became a Pastor. When he became a Pastor, as them dey put my name say I nobi graduate way make me run go school, em name sef dey the batch.
A man that could have either been employed as Bishop Oyedepo’s personal doctor or even Winners’ Chapel doctor. When they released his name, he nearly ran mad because he had no Father to go to because everybody has rejected him and that he has made the worst mistake of his life! And then they sacked him, he was now going back to the school to see if he can re-validate his old admission! While he was at the gate, he saw a girl he was teaching Physics before she gained admission was driving in as a lecturer at that same University. And when he saw the girl, his madness increased. Never play with the right counsellor! Never listen to anybody who you are not convinced is wise enough to counsel you!

For some of you, your next level is tied to that difficult decision that you don’t want to make. I called Itua five years ago and said, ‘One day you may rule Edo State or find yourself in Politics’! Church Gist. You have seen millions of naira but millions of naira without a certificate will lead to a confiscated destiny because sometimes you can’t buy it; because you must go through it. I see a future that will look for this paper in time to come’!
It is even better if you do it and the future doesn’t come than for the future to come and the paper never comes. ‘I go change Church’! It is better you change Church with the truth than for you to stay here with falsehood. If you leave me with the truth and go with the truth, you will still know the truth anywhere you go. It is better, than for you to stay here, I no go tell you the truth! I was shocked two weeks ago when he told me that he is already at four hundred level studying Public Administration at the University of Benin. Another person go say, ‘I go one Church, they call am Answers Assembly but I entered the Church wetin the man tells me no look like my answer, he gave me a question! If we have to fear you to Pastor you, we will not help you!
For some of you? As you leave me now, you need to go and sack one of your four workers and for that your one worker, go and add three more workers!- You want to kill that one person. Church Gist. Some of you need to upgrade your staff strength for you to accommodate the glory that is ahead and some may need to maintain the status quo.
I said let the whole world come down, I no go employ Pastors because I want to maintain the status quo. I go Pastor this Church with my part-time Pastors at the headquarters. But to say I go employ six to seven Pastors like we used to do, and at the end of the day, I go get bad name, no! And from when I took that decision, we have seen seasons that closed many Churches but I am not under any stress because I took a painful decision! Church Gist. Anybody that has a calling should go and open a branch and prove his calling! Some husbands and wives also need to make a decision, all these one wey husband and wife dey buy clothes and provisions from their capital, they need to change their mind!
