-Pastor Peace Ibiyeomie on ‘UNDERSTANDING THE POWER OF TONGUE’| MOTHER’S DAY
First Service, Salvation Ministries Home of Success.
Put those hands together for Jesus. I appreciate the Almighty God for this privilege to be the person to bring the message to you this morning. God will bless you, bless everyone of us in Jesus’ name. I appreciate the servant of God in our midst. Every one of you, God will bless you in the name of Jesus. Church Gist. Holy Spirit of God I ask that you open our understanding that nobody will leave here the same. You will bless us in the name of Jesus Christ.
Mothers, I celebrate you in Jesus name. Are you happy to be a mother? Every woman here, you are a mother because some of you are potential mothers. Once you are a woman, you are already programmed to be a mother. So, you are celebrated in Jesus’ name. The whole world set today aside to celebrate women because they are unique. Church Gist. So, God bless you, bless our fathers in the Lord, and every man here for providing for the women. God bless you in Jesus’ mighty name. Visit everybody here in Jesus’ name.
- Nobody will leave here the same in Jesus’ mighty name.
The topic this morning is UNDERSTANDING THE POWER OF TONGUE. Today is Mothers’ day and we are proud to be called Mothers. As a mother, understand that God brought you into this world to be a blessing to humanity. You are a special creature with a unique ability. You know Jesus came to this world through a woman, without any earthly father. So, you are unique. Your words have power to make a difference, and impact lives. Motherhood is the beauty of every woman. Church Gist.
- May God bless all the mothers including potential mothers in the name of Jesus.
Today, we will be talking about how powerful the tongue is. It is my prayer that after today’s service, we will know how to use our tongue wisely in Jesus’ mighty name.
What is Understanding? Understanding is the ability to get the meaning of something or a subject matter. Understanding is simply having comprehension of something. What is Power? Power is the ability or capacity to do something. Power is the possession of control, authority, or influence over others or events. What is Tongue? According to the dictionary meaning, the dictionary defined the tongue as fleshy moveable part of the mouth used in tasting, talking, and swallowing food, and by human beings in speaking. It is an organ of speech in humans. Therefore, understanding the power of the tongue can be defined as knowing how the organ of speech in humans work, and the influence it has over one’s life. Church Gist. Until you understand the power and the purpose of the tongue, you will misuse it. A wise man said, when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. - I pray that God will give you understanding in Jesus’ mighty name.
The tongue is so important that the Bible took out time in James 3 to explain the power of tongue. James 3:4-12. So, never neglect the power of the tongue if you want to make meaning in life. Proverbs 18:21. So, what to know about the tongue:
1) Your tongue tells more about you. How you speak reveals much about you. Matthew 12:34. Church Gist. So, one has to be careful whatever you are saying, wherever you are. It reveals who you are more than what you are not saying. Example, a nagging woman is known by the way she uses her tongue to continually find fault. Someone who gossips is also identified by the way he/she uses his/her tongue to spread rumour always. Your words can hurt, bless or discourage you or others. Proverbs 12:18.
2) Your tongue has power over your life. Your tongue is a powerful weapon that can control, bless, build or destroy you but your tongue will not destroy you in Jesus’ name. Church Gist. Life and Death are in the power of the words the tongue speaks. Proverbs 18:21a. So, you must understand that the power to live or die is rooted in your tongue. Deuteronomy 30:19. God that created us knows how powerful the tongue is. Church Gist. What you said yesterday is what that has brought you where you are today. What I’ve said yesterday concerning my life is what brought me to where I am today. So, what we will be declaring today too, will bring us to what we will see tomorrow so, we have to be very careful. Church Gist. So, you must understand that the power to live and die is rooted in your tongue. Your liberty or captivity lies in your tongue. Matthew 18:18. You must be careful with words.
