Zechariah 4:1-6.
An understanding of the place of the Holy Spirit will go a long way in establishing God’s eternal purpose for us. Without Him we are helpless. The body without the spirit is dead. Christianity cannot take on full meaning without the baptism of the Holy Spirit and keeping Him there on your inside. You can’t know His mission and not be desperate for Him. You can’t understand His person and not crave for Him at all costs. Church Gist. There are many walking on the streets but they are dead while they live. The quickening power that makes life meaningful is not at work in them.
Prayers: Jesus help me to treasure this eternal treasure that has been offered to me for free.
He is a free offer of the Father for all the redeemed because we can’t go any further than the help we receive from Him.

Heavenly Father, thank you for how far you have helped us. It is the last Midweek service for the month. Thank you for the amazing impact of the word, you have always reserved the best for the last. Let tonight be an experience of a kind for every worshipper in the name of Jesus.

UNDERSTANDING THE PERSON AND MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. We have established the fact that the Holy Spirit is not a feeling, He is not a falling. He is a person with a clearly defined mission in the life of every believer who has created room for Him. The word Comforter means helper, that goes to fulfil Psalm 46:1. John 14:17. We saw the Holy Ghost at work in Jesus with Him but after He left, He came to dwell in us. So you can’t forget Him when you are going out. On the road, He is there, when you are at work, He is right there. Church Gist. He is just there. When you carry a strong charm in the South West they call it ajesara. He is our ajesara in the ministry. He is inside you, you are not looking for Him. Very present help in times of need. He shares the same nature with God, He never sleeps. So when you are sleeping, He is fighting your battles for you. John 15:5.

Let’s look more at who this person, the Holy Spirit is.

The Holy Spirit is the power of God in manifestation in the life of a believer.

Luke 24:49. After three years of discipleship, I can’t guarantee you safety until you are endued with power from on High. Power is ordained for our dominion. Power is ordained for the believer’s empowerment. Church Gist. We know that we are of God and the whole world lies in wickedness, so we need empowerment for a smooth sail in a wicked world. Luke 10:19. We need empowerment to be more than a conqueror in a world of wickedness. Luke 10:17. He knows we live in a world of hurts, a wild world of wickedness. So He reserved for us this empowerment to live the overcomer’s life and command exploits.

Isaiah 45:1-3.
Everybody needs this helper, we all need Him. We all need to actively engage with Him. Everybody needs Him and will always need Him till the end of time. He empowers us to be living witnesses of Christ. He empowers us for spiritual stewardship which is the most rewarding dimension of stewardship. Galatians 6:8. He is the one that empowers us on the prayer altar, He is the one that empowers us on the go for Jesus. We are just empty carcasses with Him. Church Gist. No depth of knowledge, no zeal for God is a substitute. Everybody needs Him therefore to fulfil our golden destiny in Christ. We are so precious in the sight of God that He had to offer the blood of His son to purchase us back from the kingdom of darkness. That blood shall not be wasted in anyone’s life.

2. The Holy Spirit is the quickening spirit that keeps our body hale and hearty.

Romans 8:1, Ephesians 4:5. He is a quickener of our mortal body. When He is active in us, He keeps the body alive and well. Matthew 3:11-12. 1 Corinthians 16:9. That’s free health insurance. It is part of His vital ministry to the believer. He keeps our bodies supernaturally fit. They say on this side, that health is wealth. Church Gist. You don’t know what you have until you lose your health. You will never lose your health. All this I will go here today, I will go tomorrow. It is because you have a body to go with, when the body refuses you go nowhere.

• Your body will not pack up.
• No one here will ever suffer any form of deformity.
• Your body will remain fit till Jesus returns.
• You shall never get to a point where you wish death for yourself. Therefore everyone under the sound of my voice that is plagued with any disease I command your instant healing.
  We are talking about the body quickener and He is here to confirm His word.

1. The Holy Spirit empowers our giving life for continuity.

2 Corinthians 8:3.
There is a power beyond our power and that is the power of the Holy Spirit. We used to sing about the Holy Spirit “power from on high has set me free”. We were talking about the Holy Spirit. It takes the help of the Holy Ghost to sustain your giving life. The sustainability of your giving life is vital to your prosperity. The blessing will stop when you stop. If the farmer stops planting, there will be food scarcity. The produce of last year cannot suffice for the hunger of this year. There was a man by the name of J.C. Penny and I think I try to use his illustration all the time. What happened to our people from the western world, they tell the story. People here keep the story. They will just let others suffer for nothing. Others who would have learnt from them won’t have anything to learn from. They just keep it. J.C Penny was taught about tithing growing up, he committed himself to it and his business began to expand and expand. He started cutting down on tithing and without his knowledge, it was going down small, small. You may not know but Mount Everest is coming down. Church Gist. I was in a place in Kenya and I was told that the particular spot where we stood was once under the Indian Sea. The Indian Sea has moved. Abundance can move. As he began to cut down on his tithing blessings started going down and suddenly he woke up bankrupt. What! If he was here he would have been binding witches and wizards. “Where have I missed it Jesus?” He told him to get back to where he began from. He began tithing again and found his way up before He went to heaven. The network is still there today in America. Where your giving stops, there your blessings stop so we need grace for continuity. This ministry is experiencing supernatural affluence because we are yet to cut down on anything we are committed to. We will never cut down till Jesus returns. We have never seen red in our account. All these do it small stop small is not the way up. It takes the power beyond your power to sustain it in season and out of season. First, sit back and ask, will I ever be willing to give a hundred million tithe? Then you are not ready to receive a billion blessings. You can determine where you stop. If you say God forbid, God now forbids the blessing that can get you a hundred thousand tithes. You forbade it for God. There are many people here today whose tithe will be in dollars and billions. There is no human hand in the financial fortune of your Church. There is no one ever consulted on this earth “Please can you help”. It will soon be 42 years, not once. This God is not a liar, it is the instability of man that puts him into a problem. Church Gist. Off today and on tomorrow, then off again and on and off and on. The many cuts you have in a row keep weakening it. Please receive this helper, He will turn your story forever. Interestingly, this is what we are teaching in all our churches worldwide today as always. I was telling our students today, the ball is in your court, play it the way you want. There is power beyond our power.

Malachi 3:13-18. Whatever you don’t do joyfully will never work. So don’t do it at all. That’s the story of your church. World Outreach Centre under batcher, thank you. These people can deceive themselves, thank you. We will know who is deceiving who tomorrow. Now the same church is doing that kind of project without you feeling a thing. God is ever faithful and ever sure. Somebody asked me in those days, what is the cost of this line of buildings, I said I have never asked. I have been the sitting president all this time. The covenant channel of supply is jealously guarded so the supplies kept coming to do it without one man to say thank you to. My God will decorate your life. Malachi 4:1.

• You won’t smell, you will shine.
  Is it this kind of time for God’s sake that you will be doing that kind of project? No! It is not normal. Church Gist. It takes the Holy Spirit to maintain a quality covenant work with God. To keep dreaming more and more of kingdom dreams, to rest yourself in His arms. He never lies. Somebody asked me one time “what do you do between the time you give and when you receive” I said I have never thought of it. I am dealing with a most faithful God. I can’t be bothered about Him, I should be bothered about what He says to do. I have never thought about it, yet He has never failed once. All this testimony yesterday and no more testimony today, that is not life. God did not design our life for ups and downs. Proverbs 4:18.
• You are going places.

1. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of joy and gladness

Isaiah 61:3. He is called the oil of joy. He keeps you in motion, without oil your car can’t be in motion. He keeps your car in motion in season and out of season, whether it is raining or thunder is striking, anything, if your car has fuel it will move. But under most normal conditions, if your car does not have fuel it will not move. There are people who are depressed that can’t tell what they are depressed about. When the oil of joy comes, He keeps you in motion forever. Psalm 45:6-8. That’s falling into the ocean of joy. Everyone is truly filled with the Holy Ghost and working in Him exudes unexplainable joy. Under some terrible circumstances, joy is just oozing forth. No matter the circumstance, carbon dioxide is just coming out from you naturally. That’s how joy exudes from a man helped by the Holy Spirit. Someone asked me “Brother David, do you ever have any problems ‘. I said maybe it came and I didn’t know. Church Gist. He that sitteth in heaven shall laugh, even when they gang up against Him, he will just be laughing. That is what the Holy Ghost does, He stirs unconditional, all-weather joy in your heart. Romans 14:17. When the Holy Ghost came down in the Upper Room, they thought they were drunk. The ecstasy was obvious. They had never seen that kind of thing before. Peter said you know the bar has closed by this time. It is the Holy Ghost that got them drunk. You are not pushing, it is just the oil that is moving you. He even helps you to laugh on your own. Church Gist. It is not that you are mad, it is the ecstasy of it. There are some revelations that I have had in my life that I burst out laughing. I said God why have you asked me to stay back in Nigeria until you tell me otherwise? He said you know you are my cat and these evil men are like rats. Once you meow, they will be jumping over the fence. Even you will laugh, if you have never laughed before and you heard that you will laugh. So I had the laugh of my life.

What is in Joy?

1. Joy is our redemptive fountain of strength. Nehemiah 8:10.
2. Joy is also at the root of health and vitality of the redeemed.
   Proverbs 17:22.
3. Joy secures access to revelation. Isaiah 12:3. Philippians 4:4. 1

Thessalonians 5:16. You don’t know what you are missing when you are out of joy. Paul, a man of great revelation, said that and the secret of men are in their stories, you have unusual access to the mystery of the kingdom through the mystery of joy and rejoicing through which we draw water out of the well of salvation.

4. Joy secures our rewards in stewardship.

Only the joyful qualify for a reward. I had this visitation in 1977 from Deuteronomy 28:47-48. You don’t see a seed planted until it grows up. You are posing like I am punishing you by serving me, you can’t see the abundance I have in store. Not everybody serving God ever tastes reward. Some are just labouring, nothing is coming, after hissing in the morning till evening, he comes to Church and starts singing “oh Lord we praise you”. Church Gist. You miss your reward for spiritual carelessness. Joel 1:12. Wake up, these are the things that the Holy Ghost supplies for free if you give Him room to.

5. Joy paves the way to our high places.
   Habakkuk 3:17-19.

Every truly joyful believer today is a high flier tomorrow. Every truly joyful believer today is a high flier tomorrow. We once had a grass cathedral in Kaduna but you need to see our excitement. I said Hello brethren if you see any larger grass cathedral than this anywhere in the world, let me know. This is the largest grass cathedral on this earth today, everybody laughed and clapped. Not “oh God how can we be in a batcher”. That is where we should be for that time. Your business is just starting, you are less than 6 months old and you are grumbling, even Christ came and began as a baby. All these jumping the queue is why you have a crisis. Church Gist. We were once 4 and then we became 6, that’s a great church in the making. No downtime, not “brethren I don’t know what is happening here, you need to join me to pray. I am almost discouraged”. I live in a spiritual Warri. We don’t worry here. It is well and you mean it, it is not a religious show. The seed is taking its time and we will soon see it. Hebrews 12:2. The mockery we suffered for teaching prosperity is wonderful. One day one of our concerned deaconesses came to me and said “Sir, please don’t say you will be rich again, everybody is talking about you in town”. I said is it not me they are talking about? Why are you so bothered? We got to Church and it was a service day and she was crying to me that I should not say I will be rich, I said I will not only be rich, but I will also be the richest. I looked at her and she laughed. Church Gist. One day whether by mistake or by accuracy they said I am the richest pastor in the world. They are right, I said it then. You better face where you are going and look at what lies ahead of you as painted in scripture. God never lies. There are people here who will lay up gold as dust. It is not about your profession or career, it is the blessing of God. Proverbs 10:22.

Holy Ghost baptism made easy: be born again, be desperate for Him. Crave for His presence and expect Him to fill you with evidence of speaking in tongues. Those three things are enough. Isaiah 55:1. You want to see His power? Be thirsty. Job 29:22-23. No one laid hands on me to be baptized in the Holy Ghost. Holy Spirit wherever you are baptize me. Desperate, I got up speaking in tongues fluently. There is no technicality about it. Jesus is the baptiser. It’s not what to labour for, it is a gift. Be matured -No! Nobody was mature in the Upper Room. Nobody even knew God in the house of Cornelius. They heard the word and opened their heart and at the same time, they got saved and baptized in the Holy Ghost. Church Gist. There are many people tonight when you wake up in the morning the matter is settled. If you don’t have Him, you will be threatened to look for idols but with Jesus on your inside, there is no cultist power on this earth that does not know I have the Holy Ghost inside me. When I step in they step out. You better wake up and don’t let Him lie passive in your life. He is not a spare tyre. He is the substance of your life, He gives absolute value to our salvation. Opens you up to the word and covers you from all assaults of the enemy. He is everything that you and I will ever need. He is our most valuable asset next to salvation.

Prayers: celebrate this most valuable gift. Sing in the spirit, pray in the spirit. Celebrate Him in the spirit. Celebrate your present helper in times of need. Celebrate the one that secures our golden destiny in Christ. Celebrate our source of eternal joy, no pretenses.

Now, that is what I call the Laodicean Syndrome – a sense of self-satisfaction. They say we are rich, we have need for nothing. What is he shouting about? Not knowing that they are poor. Revelation 3:17-18. There is so much loaded into your destiny that where you and I are is just the beginning steps. I thank God for where we are, grace brought us here but we are not there yet. What we had in Kaduna was breakthrough, but breakthrough crèche and we are going for first degree, second degree and third degree. Church Gist. Just imagine at crèche you say, you don’t know me, I was first in the class. First at crèche? Now they wear robes to graduate from primary school. The captain in primary school is a captain but is that Super Eagles? Is that Barcelona? He is just starting. He is not eligible for registration for professional football but He is the captain and they call Him Maradona. Being in the kingdom is a journey. There are folks here today that will be a covering for 1,000 people, some will be a covering for 10,000 people, some for a million people. You are just beginning, keep obeying God and He keeps changing your level.

Prayers: I need you Holy Spirit to open my eyes to see further into the great things you have in store for me. Far greater than where I am now.

Remember the humorous testimony of that young Catholic boy who read the miracle seed and got saved in chapter one, got filled with the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues all on his own and all In one sitting. Grace not to grieve Him and grace not to quench Him. Jesus remained on fire till He went to heaven. Lift your hands and call for that grace.

One of my daughters who won the Olympics medal in Tokyo has won another silver medal. I listened to her interview with the press and she said when I was challenged we began to pray in the spirit. That is the Helper. She came by one day and said she was having some strains on one of her legs and I said no! You are out of it. Nigeria has never won it, it is the first one ever. She openly identified with Jesus. She said it is the grace of God. That is how Jesus is lifting people today. It is not by posing, it is by connecting. Connect with your helper. Jealously guard His ministry in your life. She said I thank God for my father, Bishop David Oyedepo. She is just carrying my name to where I have never been. Church Gist. She came back from the Tokyo Olympics and dedicated her bronze medal to me. I have never been there. I said keep the medal, she said No! I told God I am giving this medal to my father. God gave her another medal, isn’t God wonderful? We are going places, we are not cracking jokes here. If you won’t take responsibility nothing will happen. Principles of the kingdom are being pushed out in changing stories.

Next Sunday is our covenant day of all-around rest. This is not theory, they are individuals in this Church who have entered that realm worldwide. They are operating smoothly in the realm of all round rest. Many more will join that league this Sunday. I have been in that realm of all round rest for many years, even when I try to worry it doesn’t come. The grace to step into and stay on in that realm will come upon everyone. The rest will pass from you to your children and grandchildren. Your family will be known as a family of rest. The enemy shall be utterly helpless concerning you.

Many stars will rise by their rigorous engagement in serving God and the interest of His kingdom. You will never come down. This church has never come down. Your days of better last year are finally over. Church Gist. Please stay strong on your prayer altar and remain burning with passion for souls. There is no secret investment of time, energy and resources that shall not be openly rewarded. God never lies, you will be openly rewarded. As you bring forth your harvest, God will swear a blessing on you. When God swears a blessing on you, no devil can say otherwise.
