Hosea 6:3. Subject tonight is very simple, “Passion for God (Hunger for God): Major Key to Revival”. Everybody is hungry for something, the question is, who is hungry for God? Passion for God, desperation is a major secret of men and women who accomplish great things for God in Scripture. Church Gist. I call it a hunger that cannot be conquered. You conquer everything but you cannot conquer that hunger, it just remains permanent. The more of Him you know, the more you want to know, the more you have seen of Him, the more you want to see. We saw that in the Scripture, I’m going to give you 4-5 examples;
- Moses. Exodus 33:14-15. Moses said, “if your presence does not go with me, don’t take me from here”. Church Gist. I’m sure someone is going to say that like that this morning, “I don’t want to get back to Kentucky, I’m not going to Georgia if your presence does not go with me”.
Psalm 63:1-2. That is passion, that is longing, that is yearning, that is hunger that cannot be conquered.
- Isaiah had the same hunger. Isaiah 26:8-9.
- Jeremiah expressed the same longing for Israel. Jeremiah 29:13-14.
- Paul the Apostle. Philippians 3:10-14. I said in the morning, there cannot be anything precious without pressure, nothing is precious until somebody presses. Church Gist. There’s no revelation without attention and there’s no attention without tension.
What will passion do? You know there are those who cannot pray for 30 minutes, but they can do one hairstyle for 6 hours. You know what I’m talking about? Church Gist. There are some hairstyles that they can do for a whole day but they can’t pray for 30 minutes, within one hour of service, they’re checking the wristwatch. There are those who cannot pray for 30 minutes but they can watch their popular TV series for 3 hours. There are those who can’t study the Bible for 30 minutes but they cannot miss the football match or the baseball game, they’re hooked up there. Church Gist. There are those who can’t talk about God, but just begin to talk about cars or fashion and you’ll get their attention. Everybody is passionate about something, the question is, what are you passionate about? Everybody is passionate about something, if you’re not interested, it just simply shows that it’s not your area of passion, but what God is saying now is, “I want you to turn that passion around”.
Smith Wigglesworth grew up and said he was a very angry man, he could be so angry that he would vibrate literally like an electric cable. He will be so angry that he will lock his wife out if she went to Church, he wasn’t a Christian. He was so angry, I mean, anger was a problem. When he gave his life to Christ, he said, “that anger turned around against devil”, he was still angry but it was somewhere else. Church Gist. You know, anger is not a sin if it is in the right direction. The Bible said, ” be angry” – it’s a command, “but sin not”. Just be angry at the right thing, be angry at sin, be angry at the devil, oppression and whatever God is angry with. It’s not angry with your wife and children, no, that anger is the wrong type. Church Gist. God is saying, “turning that passion around, let Me replace your passion with vanity with Passion for reality. Let Me replace your passion for the mundane with Passion for the eternal. Let me replace your passion for the temporal with Passion for the eternal, for a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things that he eats or drinks or drives.” What is important is not what you drive but what drives you, it’s not the model of car you drive but what drives you. Church Gist. It is not where you live in and how beautiful the house is but what lives in you. I will talk about that briefly in the morning and you know what happens tomorrow morning? Tomorrow is the 10th of November, that is the exact anniversary of our ministry and I’m spending that anniversary in America. It’s already 10th of November in Nigeria already. This fire that started 20-something years ago, that the anniversary of it is being marked in this land is not coincidental. Church Gist. It’s Prophetic, it’s significant and symbolic, that the same fire that erupted in that land and is igniting fires around the world is stepping into this same land at this same time and season.
A brother said that he saw yesterday that there was panic in hell. At the beginning of this program, there was panic in the flames of hell, danger is coming, and hell had seen nothing yet.
What is the effect or outcome of Passion?
- Passion is key to Revelation. Psalm 63:1-2. Passion is the door to revelation, desperation is the door to revelation. Hosea 6:3. The limit of your passion is the limit of your vision and your revelation. Church Gist. The limit of your desperation is the limit of your revelation. Your insight is directly proportional to your interest. God will never bother you with what does not bother you. Where you don’t have interest, you can’t have insight. It’s very important
- Passion is key to Possession. Your passion for God determines your portion in life. Matthew 6:33. Church Gist. The reason why we don’t have the same portion is because we don’t have the same passion. Someone said, “is God partial? How can he give so so person so much?” God’s servant Bishop Oyedepo said, “you don’t understand my secret until you understand my heartbeat for God. You don’t know anything about me until you know how much my heart beats after God”. Your heart for God determines your path with God. Church Gist. Your heart for God determines your height in life. There are those nothing moves. I don’t know the number of times that I emptied my account completely for the sake of the Kingdom, completely, as a Pastor and minister of the Gospel, just flattened it completely to zero.
I traveled all the way to Venezuela, South America, an almost 18 hour trip from Nigeria and I forgot to carry money, I didn’t carry $1, not even a cent, I forgot to carry, that is how “interested” I am in money. Church Gist. Is it possible for you to leave from here to Dallas without carrying $1 or forget money at home? Money is the first thing you will remember. It was when I reached there that I realized that I had forgotten to carry money but it’s not possible to forget to carry the Bible, it’s not possible to forget to carry the fire. When it was service time and there was a need to give offering, I realized I didn’t carry not a dime, all the way, an 18 hours trip. Church Gist. The meaning of that was that shopping wasn’t on my mind, nothing, I am here to show the devil the road to hell. Not that I’m in lack or in need. When I got there, somebody that I have never met before met me where I was and brought me any money I would need for that journey, in US dollars in South America.
Don’t seek for things, seek for God and things will look for you. Church Gist. Look for God and things will look for you. What others are dying to get, will look for you. Am I communicating? We have gone to crusades before in Nigeria, Africa and other places and somebody says, “this is my private jet, can you use it?” Another one will chatter another one, we have gone with 3 at once. Carry television crew, all manner of people. Church Gist. We’re on our assignment and what other people struggle to get, look for us.
- Your passion determines your unction. Unction means ‘anointing’! Passion determines Power! Church Gist. It determines the unction! Early will I seek Thee, my soul thirsteth for There, my flesh longeth for Thee to see Thy Power!
On the day of Pentecost, they were in one accord and suddenly, there came a Mighty rushing wind and Power fell! Unction follows passion! Church Gist. Show me a man that has Power and I will show you a man passionate and desperate for God!
One day, my wife asked me, she said, “Are you going to eat breakfast and lunch today? And I said, ” No! I’m not sure that I am going to eat until a certain time towards evening!” She said, “For how long?” Church Gist. And I said, “I know when it will start, but I don’t know when it will end”. And she said, ” Then, I’ll go with you!” Then three days, seven days, one month, three months, six months, one year and two years passed and we didn’t feel like eating before that certain time of the day!
I am not telling you to impress you because what communicates principles are examples! I was hungry for something that was not food! Church Gist. There was a hunger that food couldn’t quench! Let me not go further so that some people will not get scared in arrears, but I can assure you that I never recovered!
In the year of 2017, our Church fasted and prayed for one full year and met in Church every day!- This is not just the Pastor now! Kathryn Kuhlman said, “Anything you want in God is possible, it depends on how badly you want it!” Church Gist. How desperate do you want what you say that you want?
One day, I told my wife, I don’t like the way my body is trying to come up, let me destroy it within three days! Go back to where you are coming from! It is possible, but how badly did you want it!
Why do we need the unction?
1.Unction brings acceleration and progress. You conquer stagnation by the unction! Church Gist. How God anointed Jesus Christ of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with Power and He went about doing good! In 1 Samuel 10:1 When Prophet Samuel anointed Saul, he told him, “And you shall go on forward!”
- The unction brings demonstration and manifestation. The anointing is key to the demonstration of the reality of God! The Bible said, “The earnest expectations of creation waited for the manifestation of sons” Romans 8:19. No unction, no demonstration! No unction, no manifestation! Church Gist. When there is no unction, Christianity appears as a mockery!
- The unction brings the realisation of potentials. The things God put in you are released! Church Gist. Graces you carry come out! When the anointing is at work! Saul never knew that he had a prophetic potential until the Prophet Samuel poured Oil on him! And then he came to the company of Prophets and began to prophesy!
-There are things in you that you don’t know at all that will be coming out tonight! And I announce today, a new season is coming upon you!
- The unction brings restoration! The things that are missing and lost in your life can be found by the unction! Whether it is the restoration of your health! How God anointed Jesus Christ of Nazareth and He went about healing!- That’s the restoration of health! Church Gist. In 1 Samuel 10:1-5, after Samuel anointed Saul, he said, ” You will meet some men who will tell you that the donkeys that were missing are found”- By the reason of the anointing, the missing things were found! There are two types of restoration. The first type is the restoration where something got lost, and you find it.
The second type of restoration is the Destiny Restoration. Church Gist. Where you are meant to be here in life, but you still find yourself there. Restoration is God shifting you from where the devil kept you to where you are me at to be.
Is there anybody ready for that here?!
So that the years that the canker worm and the caterpillar and the locusts and the palmer worm had eaten got restored back to you.

6, REVOLUTION. When the anointing is in youe life. This is most exciting to me because that is why we are here. Sparking a revolution in your city. When the anointing came upon Jesus, in Luke 4:14, the Bible said Jesus returned in the power of the Holy Ghost and his fame spread. His fame spread! All of a sudden, something changed. Something shifted. Something just broke! Almost overnight! This was someone for 30 years, nobody heard his voice. He carried an anointing that could raise the dead but he couldn’t heal a fly.
This was one whose birth was prophesied – a virgin birth. For 10 years, 20 years, 30 years, not a fly was healed. Church Gist. But suddenly at the waters of Jordan, something dropped on him. And without any marketing technique, without any marketing communication, without any television advert, without Twitter, without Facebook, without YouTube, without Instagram, without nothing, his fame spread about!
Who spread the fame?
At the time the fame spread, he had not performed one miracle yet! Church Gist. He had not healed the sick yet. But something dropped on him and his fame spread. When the anointing came upon the apostles, and especially Paul the Apostle, it was said of them, “the men that turned the world upside down”.
-There is somebody about to turn Chicago upside down, turn America upside down, turn your city Kentucky, turn Tennessee, turn Oklahoma, turn Atlanta, Georgia upside down! Somebody is about to turn your community upside down for Jesus. If you are that person you would stand up and shout the loudest Amen!
Remain standing, remain standing, remain standing!
I am not here to play with the devil. I am here to check the devil back into hell. And I announce to you tonight, everything that has stagnated your life, that has put your life on a hold, that has put your life in reverse…
Some people their lives are on a hold, some people their lives are in reverse, things semm to be getting worse, things seem to be getting bad, I announce to you today, that stagnation is broken!
Acceleration is released!
You are going forward, speedily by fire!
Somebody shout Yeah!
I announce today, your life cannot be without evidence.
You shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you and you shall be witnesses.
A witness is an evidence producer. A witness came to testify. I am aware of what I am talking about. Christianity is both experiential and evidential. It’s experiential, it’s evidential!
There is something to see, there is something to hear, there is something to feel around a real Christian. Church Gist. John sent to Jesus, “Are you the One to come or should we expect another?”
He said, “Go and tell John, the blind see, the deaf hear, the lame walk, to the poor the Gospel is preached. Blessed is he who is not offended in me”
In other words, John, there is something to see, there is something to hear, there is something to touch, I am not just speaking, I have evidence, I have results!
Your results are more evangelistic than your utterance. When they saw them, they concluded they were Christians. They had not spoken a word yet. Zechariah 8.
The man with the evidence is not at the mercy of the man with an argument. Church Gist. Evidence is senior to argument. People may argue about your going to church, they may argue whether you know God or not, but they can never argue your evidence. They can never argue with your result.
And you know, the result is the answer to the insult. The result is the answer to the reproach.
-I announce to you today, people who know you, after this encounter, they will confirm that they can see results in your life!
Marcus was a young university student by the time I met him, and he submitted himself. Church Gist. Went through everything, followed him up through school, through marriage, through more school, everything! And I told him at one point, I said, “Marcus, your life will never remain the same again”.
He came out and began to practice law in Nigeria and under 3 years, young lawyer, rapidly, he had already reached the Supreme Court! This takes people like 10,15 years or how many years to achieve. If he was still in the Supreme Court, he would have become a big Senior Advocate by now, but he relocated here and everything went up. Just one encounter.
There are many people here that I could call out, one by one. You are one of them, he is one of them.
He was to relocate from Nigeria to Canada. They had been looking for the fruit of the womb for several years. After I met them, they had twins. They had tried U.K, tried U.S, for IVF, no solution. Today they have twins, they are 7 years old.
Also, they had been trying to relocate for years, it finally happened they met me. Today, they are citizens, they have gotten their own house. Grace is working. He came from Canada to do Ushering in this program.
We can go on and on.
What I’m saying to you today, the devil that says your life should be without result, that devil is under arrest now! The devil that says your life should not have evidence, that devil is under arrest now!
I announce to you today, every potential in your life, is being released now! Every grace you carry that has not been expressed is being released now. Church Gist. What the devil took from you, I declare under the next one month, there shall be restorations – marital restoration, financial restoration, career restoration, ministry restoration!
God has shown me vision of big, big financial resources. Transactions that are international, between the U.S and other countries, right in here! And the devil has tried to resist you, because he knows if you get the money, the Gospel will feel the impact. But that devil is a bastard liar.
Today, that yoke is broken! What followed you from your father’s house is ending here today! Every generational, ancestral, everything that is diabolical, spells cast on your life is broken right now!
You are going to lift your hand and speak to God right now. Father fill me with fresh passion, fresh passion, fresh passion, fresh passion!
