Something striking in one of the testimonies read tonight is, “I thought it was staged.” In case there are people here who think that these testimonies are staged, I want to help you. John 3:8. Every genuine child of God is born a wonder. As he engages with the Word, God confirms the Word turning him to a wonder among men. We are redeemed as a peculiar people by God. 1 Peter 2:9. A different specie of people, they keep wondering, “where are they coming from?” That’s who we are. As we keep walking in the Word of God, he keeps confirming our peculiarity among men. Church Gist. Zechariah 3:8. We are to be wondered at, we are not wanderers. People should look at us and say, “what? These folks are from the blues. They are from the blue moon, we can’t understand them.” A prophecy about redemption, Isaiah 8:18, there were no children of God in the Old Testament, Christ is the first born from the dead. So it’s a prophetic word that every one that is redeemed is redeemed a sign and a wonder to his world.
Can I tell you this? We have come to an era where you will not just be a surprise to people around you, you will be a surprise to yourself. That means, your life will just be a surprise – ” what’s happening? What’s going on here?” So, God saw that young man because it was his first time, as ignorance. Church Gist. So he keyed in back to the truth and he saw the same thing. He switched over to engaging in Kingdom Advancement Prayers, an official of that Company came from the UK, sorted the process out and went back. My God, it works!
Sir, without faith in God and his Word, Christianity is an adventure in frustration. You don’t get nothing out of it. It’s to everyone according to his faith. No matter who is ministering, without your faith nothing happens. Can I please help you? I sat down there and I was writing. Nothing that is falsehood ever endures with God. Falsehood never endures with God. Psalm 101:7. No testimony has ever been staged once since the beginning – no! When we don’t understand your testimony, we call you to confirm, “are you the one?” – from the beginning! I saw the first 18 year barren deliver a baby boy 1982. I saw a man with haemorrhage, sat down in a service, we were teaching on prosperity. He felt a touch in his body, went to the bathroom for the first time in 6 years, no blood and never again. Church Gist. No lies last with God. In case you think they are staging it, you are blocking your access to your miracle. The Ministry itself is a mystery. This Ministry is it not a mystery? Where you never talk about lack in your life and yet you don’t lack? Where you never knock on anybody’s door to help the Church in one way or another in your life? You better relax, God is in the midst of his people. Relax, don’t rob yourself of the best God has installed for you in this place. To think anything is staged after one year here, you leave; fly away; you don’t belong here. The testimonies today, I never knew who the persons were, never knew where they lived, never saw me, most people get their testimonies by the things they did with the Word they heard. Not that somebody laid hands on them and began to prophesy and pump their head, something is about to break forth in your life! Don’t block your way forward, don’t misinterpret the acts of God among his people.
Jesus came down here, they said about him, “we have seen strange things today.” (Luke 5:26) and as the Father has sent him, so he has sent us. Mark 2:12 – that’s the life of a believer! Their life springs surprises as they connect with the Word of God. Sir, I have never begged since I came into ministry, I have never borrowed, yet I’ve never lacked. “Don’t believe that my friend, don’t believe it.” (You say) – Good luck, don’t believe it. This Ministry has never sought overdraft in a bank since inception, never borrowed from a member of the Church to, “let’s just get things going,” and yet, unbelievable things are happening. Connect, connect. God brought you here for a purpose – connect! Church Gist. Unbelief is an evil spirit. Hebrews 3:12. The evil of it is to block your access to your miracle. Don’t let any devil block your access. Don’t misinterpret those testimonies. “How can you dance and then something just happens?” You too go and dance first and dance in faith not dancing, tempting God- “well, let’s see whether it will happen for me.” It won’t happen, thou shall not tempt the Lord your God, you shall trust him. If you tempt him he won’t do anything. Don’t tempt God.
That young man came for the first time that’s why he thought it was staged but if you’re here for one year, 2 years, 3 years and you think it’s staged, then the question is, what are you here for? God just whispered to me to help you in case you’re in that class that you think it’s staged. Somebody is 69 years and they had a baby – “that’s not true (you say). Okay, what is true because this is the baby? What is now true for God’s sake? John 12:37. You know, when the devil comes on the path of a man he will just block his mind. Now, at this time, Lazarus had risen from the dead and they saw him. Church Gist. They saw him, sat with him, they were eating together. They saw the dead of 4 days yet, they believed not on him. “This is magic my friend, this is not any gospel.” That’s why it is evil. To see something tangible and then, you don’t still believe? What can you believe?
I said years ago, “only fools doubt proofs.” They said God gave them a house for one year – “it’s not possible na in this Country. How? Who will give you a house? Who will give you land? How can you build a house in 3 months?” Church Gist. Haba! You just doubt everything and so nothing is working. Please come out of it.
– I command every spirit of unbelief cast out of any life being tormented by it!
Sir, the day you need a miracle, you may not get across if you doubt the miracles in the lives of others. But that is over tonight! Every time you put God’s Word to work, he confirms it to a miracle. You won’t lack miracles again! Christianity without the supernatural is fake. John 10:37. Christianity is validated by the supernatural. Church Gist. So strange things will start happening in your life as you keep engaging with the Word of God. You tell yourself, “evil spirit of unbelief, get out of my life, get off my path! I believe God.” Everything written in that book is the truth and nothing but the truth. So, come on board, it’s your turn. Isaiah 28:21-22.
– Somebody is set free, liberated!
– Like a dream of the night your story will change!
2 Kings 7:1-20. Let’s not mock Scriptures, it’s the pathway to your future. Those who mock Scriptures, when will they believe prophetic words? (Scriptures) are the words from the mouth of God; if you mock it, when will you believe in the prophetic word from tiny tiny prophets like us? You trash it. You’re comparing God with man? He said, this time tomorrow. You said, ah, who is God? Can God do that? How? When will the ship arrive?” Church Gist. Does God need ship? He was supplying them food for 40 years – breakfast, dinner – twice a day, (Exodus 16:8) and that continued for 40 years. Exodus 16:35. God does not need bakery to send bread; he doesn’t need water to send fishes. He speaks and it comes to pass. God never lies, his word is not fake. What he says he will do is what he will do.
– He will do strange things in your life!
Somebody came down here from Germany, they deported him. His sickness could not be healed. As he got to Hope entrance to come to enter, because he couldn’t defecate, “excuse me, where is toilet?” He has not entered the Church, just stepping to the entrance of Hope entrance – that was it. After he was set free he said he won’t go to Germany again, he will stay here. “Must I come to Church before it happens?” You don’t go to the pool of Bethesda, you won’t be healed. You don’t go to the pool of Siloam, you will be blind for life. Church Gist. You don’t go to Jordan, you will carry your leprosy. God has his places where he manifests himself. Jeremiah 18:2. But to say, “I can’t come,” then you can go from here to Canada for treatment. You can’t come from Iyana Ipaja to this place? From Atan you can’t come? No, people just think they are smarter than God. He told Naaman, “go to Jordan” he even sent someone not that he spoke to him directly. (2 Kings 5:10) “Tell that fellow there, he came with horses and chariots, is that what we are talking about? You’re sick? Go to Jordan.” “Can’t go to Jordan, so the people will be looking at me?” Don’t let them look at you. He told him, “look, you’ll carry this leprosy for life; that man has no leprosy o, he’s telling you how to be clean.” So he went and his flesh was restored like that of a baby.
– Some fellows here on Sunday will just jump out of their ordeal of years by simple obedience of faith! Not just writing notes down but catching the Word and let the Word be to you as God speaking directly.
We have been looking at how Praise Facilitates Fulfilment of Prophecies, this is Part 4. Spiritual understanding is at the root of any truth of scriptures in a believer’s life. Matthew 13:23. The fruits they bear are a function of their spiritual understanding. Anything you don’t understand cannot generate outstanding outcomes. It is not just singing and shouting. Church Gist. People just mistake praise for entertainment. It is a loaded spiritual virtue. Psalm 47:7. Understand what it contains and what it offers. Psalm 47:6-7. People just get excited like those funny music around the world. You get high up! Nothing happens like that. Praise is packaged for God to manifest His wonders. Exodus 15:11. It is not entertainment, it is not getting high up. It is praise!
In 1979, I got the wonders in the triumphant entry of Christ into Jerusalem so I hosted an Hosanna Night. We danced like wild people because I saw that in the midst of the dancing, He took a scourge and began to chase away everything that buys and sells in the temple. I knew we are the temple of the Holy Ghost, so when we praise Him to a point He comes in and carries His scourge to chase away everything that buys and sells in our system. Church Gist. That was my raw interpretation of it. We had Hosanna Night and I preached only on that scripture. In 1979, so it is not a yesterday affair. Praising God is not an aspect of a worship service, it is an atmosphere for God to do His strange works and perform His strange acts.
We need that Spiritual understanding to make the most of our praise life. When Spiritual understanding is lacking, no truth of Scriptures can impart on our lives. Acts 8:30-31. Until understanding came he couldn’t get into the fullness of Isaiah 53 which is salvation. When that happened, when his eyes were opened he said “Here is water, can I be baptised?”. You can’t believe what you don’t understand. Church Gist. It takes spiritual understanding for faith to arise. Acts 8:26-35. How much understanding we have about praise will determine how much praise will deliver into our hands. We need that Spiritual understanding among others from Psalm 47.
1. Praise subdue people under us and nations under our feet.
Whenever God steps into an affair, everything bows out. Through praise, He subdued those three kings that they had no might or power against Judah. As praise went up, God came down. Church Gist. The three nations faced themselves and cleared themselves off the stage. All your enemies will bow at the instance of praise.
2. Praise releases our inheritance to us.
Psalm 16:11. Our inheritance is released by revelation, it is what you can see that He gives to you. He helps us to see the way to go so He can deliver your inheritance to you and I. Acts 20:32. Church Gist. 2 Peter 1:3. So we access our inheritance through the mystery of praise. No one here will labour in vain anymore.
3. Praise provokes interventions on our behalf.
God intervenes on our behalf through the platform of praise. Psalm 47:5. God steps out when praise goes up to intervene on our behalf. Church Gist. That is why praise is ordained to result in testimonies. Every acceptable praise results in a testimony. Psalm 67:5-6.
We must recognize therefore that no prophecy ever gets fulfilled without the hand of God which we secure by praise among other things. Psalm 22:3. 1 Kings 8:15. Only the hand of God has the capacity to fulfil His Word. We provoke that hand through praise. Praise is a weapon of war. 1 Timothy 1:18. If you check through scriptures, a number of major battles were won through praises. Church Gist. The Walls of Jericho came down flat when the shouts of God’s people went to heaven. Joshua 6:20. The kings that came against Judah cleared the way when praise went up to heaven. 2 Chronicles 20:3. Abraham’s barrenness was turned into fruitfulness when he kept giving glory to God. Romans 4:20. Hannah went into fruitfulness when her countenance was no more sad glorifying God. 1 Samuel 1:18. So it is all there. The devil wants you and me depressed so he can rob us of what belongs to us but he has failed. Psalm 150:6. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord because every other thing shall be added unto him.
What are Prophecies? Prophecies are divine plans ordained to be fulfilled in the life of whosoever believes. Isaiah 34:16. They are released to be fulfilled in the life of whosoever believes. Church Gist. How can a woman without knowing a man give birth to a son and the son has a name? Haba! Luke 1:45. It is faith that commits God to fulfil His Word in our lives.
Also, recognize that God speaks according to His power not according to our limitations. “This time tomorrow, there shall be plenty of food in the streets of Samaria.” Only God can say that. No one else can say that. Did it happen or not? He speaks according to His power not according to our limitations. Church Gist. God speaks according to what He can do not what you and I can do. Mark 10:27. Jeremiah 32:27. So there is nothing God said concerning you for the year 2023 that will fail. Until your faith fails, He can’t fail. Keep your faith alive! Whatever God can do faith will make happen. It will happen for you!
Every prophetic word received and believed engenders peace within. Psalm 85:8. He speaks peace. This is the way to go and if you believe it, peace is released. Church Gist. Hebrews 4:3. Every prophetic word you truly believe brings you into rest, the kind of rest that cannot be explained but cannot be denied.
How does praise facilitate the fulfilment of prophecies? Praise is the covenant platform for encounters with fresh oil that destroys yokes standing in the way of the fulfilment of prophecies. Psalm 92:1-2, 10-15. You shall be anointed with fresh oil, barriers will be crushed to see God’s plan come through. Church Gist. The anointing releases fresh oil that destroys every yoke on the path of fulfilment of prophecies and the plan of God for our life so the plan can come through. None of God’s plans will fail in your life.
Subscribe to a lifestyle of praise, keep the oil fresh, the enemies will clear the way. Isaiah 10:27; Psalm 89:20-23. So, under fresh oil, barriers clear the way. Church Gist. God’s Word comes true, his plans come to pass. That will be your experience and my experience from now!
Fearful praise subdues our enemies. Psalm 8:2; Matthew 21:16. That word, “strength” (in Psalm 8:2) Jesus interpreted it as “praise.” Subscribe to a life of praise and you will see how weak your enemies are. It is your turn for a change of story. Praise is not an activity, it is a weapon of war. Church Gist. Praise is not an addendum in our programmes, it is a weapon of war. As we engage the weapon of praise, you find things working without stress. Your days of struggling are over as God takes over your battles. God is taking over your battles and He does that through the weapon of praise.
Praise is what to do to see prophecies fulfilled. Praise is one of the vital things to do to see prophecies fulfilled. We need the hand of God to fulfill His Word and we can’t get at His hand without praise among others. Church Gist. We need to engage the weapon of praise to secure the hand of God that brings His Word to pass.
