-Thank you, Father! Heavenly Father, speak to us through Your Word, give each one a specific word, the word that will make us rule our world and let utterance be given to me to speak. Church Gist. Spirit of God, breathe your breath upon the Word and may each Word be confirmed with signs and wonders in Jesus’ Name!
We are in the month of ‘Reigning with the Word’. We are starting our week of Spiritual Empowerment from Tuesday through to Thursday, make sure you are a part of it. It is a fasting and prayer program with the Word. Today we will be looking at, ‘PRAISE FOR SUPERNATURAL TURNAROUND – PART 2’. Praise is appreciating and celebrating the goodness and mercy of God in our lives. Supernatural is something considered impossible that becomes possible. Church Gist. So Praise for Supernatural Turnaround is appreciating God’s goodness and mercy over you and trusting Him to turn all impossible situations into testimonies in your favour.
-And today, God will do exactly that in our favour – Where He turns things that men have said is impossible.
In Exodus 15:11, that is where the definition is taken from. If you want to see the wonders of God then give Him praise. Wonders will stop you from wondering. Hear this and hear me well, praise is a spiritual atmosphere for the manifestation of the supernatural. Church Gist. When you praise God, you create an atmosphere for God to manifest.
-Today and any other day you praise, God will manifest in the Name of Jesus!
There was a thick wall in Joshua 6 called ‘The Walls of Jericho’. This wall was so thick that the Bible has it that six to seven horsemen will stand side by side, that means it was so thick. Church Gist. But in Joshua 6:20, the Bible said that when the people heard the sound of the trumpet and they shouted with a great shout, the wall fell down flat.
-Every wall before you will crumble right now!
Falling down is a miracle, falling down flat is a wonder (Referring to the Walls of Jericho). A wonder is simply whatever that makes you to wonder. Anything that makes you say, ‘Ah’! is a wonder. Have you ever been broke, real broke that you don’t know what next to do and they bring a bundle, it is a wonder. Church Gist. You will say, ‘Ah’! You will take the money, go back and come back and you will say, ‘Ah’!
-May God give you a wonder! God will give somebody a wonder! This month, you and I will have the kind of blessings and favour we have never gotten. Church Gist. In the Name of Jesus, that obstacle before you will go down, that barrier before us will crumble! The walls fell down flat!
In 2 Chronicles 20:22-24, Jehoshaphat was faced with a strong and very fierce battle with Judah. The Bible said that he said, ‘We have no might of our own’! Church Gist. There are times that challenges will come and you will not even know what to do. When you don’t know what else to do, there is one more thing to do, it is to praise. Anytime you come to a point in your life and you don’t know what else to do, praise God!
-Everyone gathering against us will go down!
Enemies were fighting against themselves 2 Chronicles 20:22-24.
Declarations: My enemies will fight themselves! Church Gist. Our enemies as a Church will fight themselves!
Won’t you just like to watch and see where they fight themselves? It will happen exactly as you have said it! 2 Chronicles 20:24.
-I decree, none of our enemies will escape.
You know why praise is powerful? The Bible says, ‘God inhabits in the praise of His people’ Psalms 22:3. At God’s Presence, obstacles just give way Psalms 114:1. Everything that troubles others trembles at the instance of the manifestations of God’s Presence. Church Gist. Brethren, listen let me explain to you carefully so you will get a better understanding, God’s Presence is with you but He will not manifest until you praise. This is how it happens, praise stirs God up to manifest. He says, ‘Lo! I am with you always’! That does not mean He will manifest.
That I visit you does not mean that I must give you something but there is an atmosphere that you can create – Praise is an atmosphere that you must create for the manifestation. You know miracles? You create an atmosphere for them. When the woman came with the Alabaster box, she created an atmosphere with the perfume and Jesus said, ‘This woman’s name must be recorded! Church Gist. The Bible will not end without her name’! She created an atmosphere, she poured the perfume on Him and Judas was complaining as a thief, but Jesus said, ‘This woman has created an atmosphere Matthew 26:7. Praise creates an atmosphere for God to manifest. At that time, you see Him coming in majesty!
Now, whatever you see in the negative is an imitation of the original. Let me use Africa, Africans will understand, even the Western World, they have it. Any time music is played, you will see demonic forces manifest. If you see people rock, you know that they are possessed. Church Gist. Just see any rock artiste, you will see that, it’s the demons that are moving them. At that time, satan has taken him over, the thing is not dancing oo, it is demons.
In Africa, when they begin to play drums, the atmosphere will change, you see satan will manifest. One time, they were playing drums around here, the queue was tight and they played drums and I said, ‘See satan oo’! I had to cast the devil out of this place, just around the Church. There was this man who died, they played drums and invoked the spirits of the demons from the drum. Church Gist. So I had to stand up and say, ‘You devil, appear here no more’! That is how satan imitates from the original, there cannot be an imitation if there is no original. So when you praise God, you see God in action, you will see that God will manifest.
-And today, He will manifest!
And His Presence facilitates divine favour. Church Gist. When Israel began to praise and began to sing, you find out that when they were to leave Egypt, the Bible said they were praising God and God gave them favour in the sight of the Egyptians Exodus 3:7-12 and 21.
-This day, I decree, you and I will never run dry of favour.
Every praiseful person enjoys favour. Let me show you, many people don’t know why Mary enjoyed favour not because she was the mother of Jesus. Church Gist. I’m going to show you a Scripture clearly and you will be surprised why Mary was very spectacular Luke 1:25-28, Luke 1:30, Luke 1:35, Luke 37-45.
-Every reproach on anyone’s life drops off right now!
Luke 1:26, ‘And in the sixth month’… Which month is this? Church Gist. How many are expecting good news?
Declaration: This is my month of good news.
-May someone who says Amen be highly favoured Luke 1:28.
Declaration: I am highly favoured!
See praise in Luke 1:46, ‘And Mary said: My soul doth magnify the Lord..’ In Luke 1:47, ‘And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour’ – What is this? Praise! There will be no outstanding miracle without praise. Yes, God said she will be pregnant without a man but she had to connect it with praise. Church Gist. God has told you something, you know the reason it has not come? You are always grumbling, you are complaining too much. Mary was told, but Mary did not get it just like that, the Bible said, ‘She praised’. When you read the Bible, don’t just read one side, connect it with the other side. Mary had to connect the supernatural with praise. Are you hearing me? Stop complaining! Learn to be grateful! Learn to praise God! Luke 1:46.
You see what praise does? God has blessed you. Yes! He has favoured you but you know? If you write the amount on a cheque and you don’t sign the signature, the cheque is useless – The amount is true, the man has the money but signature is the authentic. To authenticate the delivery of your miracle, praise must be involved. You won’t take delivery! No, praise is the password, without praise that thing won’t come. Church Gist. Even if you say, ‘Our Father which art in Heaven’ and there is no, ‘Hallowed be Thy Name’, there will be no daily bread. You must hallow His Name if you don’t want to wallow on earth and then, ‘Give us this day our daily bread’ Matthew 6:9-10. You have been asking for daily bread when you have not hallowed His Name. There is too much grumbling in the Body of Christ.
Some Scriptural examples of supernatural turnaround through praise.
1. Abraham Roman 4:17-21
Now look at Romans 4:20, ‘He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief…’ That was what brought about the birth of Isaac. Church Gist. Yes, God told him and he said, ‘Look, my wife’s womb is dead and I’m also dead but I know that God is too faithful to lie! Therefore, Oh God! Thank you’! Heavens opened’! Romans 4:21.
-Your own Heaven will open.
Did you believe that all the things you wrote on your expectation paper will come to pass? They will come to pass in the Name of Jesus! Church Gist. God will give you a testimony as He gave to Abraham!
2. Jehoshaphat 2 Chronicles 20:1, 3-5, 17-25, 29-30
Jehoshaphat was surrounded by enemies. Now, most of us when we have a small challenge will say, ‘God, are you still God? God is still God oo’. Church Gist. That you have a challenge does not mean He is not God. Jehoshaphat switched over to praise and God gave him victory. Is that true?
-You too will have your own victory!
And God gave him rest round about 2 Chronicles 20:29-30. God will give you and I rest! Jehoshaphat did not grumble and say, ‘Me that has been serving You! No, he gave God praise. Church Gist. When you are at any crossroad, give God praise to cross the road. The battle was fierce but Jehoshaphat said, ‘I know how to turn on the keys’ – The key to my breakthrough and victory is praise.
3. Mary Luke 1:46-48
Mary praised God and her expectation became a reality. That God said something to you, praise God. Church Gist. It (Praise) is the last step to every miracle, after all is said and done, the closing chapter is praise and after that God opens a new chapter. Without praise, nothing will open up.
-Things will open up for you.
After you have fasted, prayed and after you have exercised faith, what do you do? Praise! Church Gist. There are things you will fast for, you will pray and do everything – End it with praise and watch if God will not answer.
Okay, Paul and Silas did they pray? Yes Acts 16:25-26. So praise is the last step to your miracles. You know? If you are given a telephone number and you miss one digit, will the line go through? That one digit may look simple oo, praise is the last digit to your breakthrough. Most of us, we don’t praise, we do everything – We can pray for forty days, fast for forty days and then no praise. Church Gist. Prayer without praise is protest. ‘I’m a prayer warrior’, you will be worn out if you don’t praise, be a praise warrior too. Prayer plus praise equals manifestation. Are you going to praise God? Glory to God!
4. Jesus in the multiplication of the loaves John 6:5-12
You all know the story? Five thousand men excluding children and women and there was no food in the wilderness. Just like some of you now, no money to pay transport and so forth and you look at your money, your salary is small at that time, what do you do? Praise! There was no food in the wilderness, you are not the first to have a challenge oo. Church Gist. Listen, Jesus who is the Messiah had a challenge. If you were Jesus and they tell you that you have five thousand people in an occasion and you have five loaves, where will you start from? Just imagine some of you who used to do occasion and you have five thousand people you invited and then all you have in your house is five loaves. Say the truth, what will you do? You will faint and say, ‘Chineke! Wetin be this one’?
Now, Jesus did not grumble! He did not say, ‘Oh! Lord, I’m the Messiah, the Son of the Living God, the one who has no sin’! Five thousand men excluding women and men! John 6:5-6, if you know what to do, you will not panic and what do you do? Praise! Church Gist. Philip answered Him in John 6:6-7 and said, ‘Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them…’ You know why Philip answered so? Philip was the one who said, ‘Show me your Father’!! Read your Bible! Philip was one kind of a funny character, every day you say, ‘My Father, My Father’! Show me that your Father! So Philip said, ‘Oga! This your miracle you are doing, five thousand men and we have only five loaves oo! It won’t work oo!
There are people like that in this Church, they are in every Church. When you talk about praise they will say, ‘I have been born again for forty years, I’m telling you what I know, this thing David Ibiyeomie is teaching can’t work! You mean, with all the economic crises in the world, only to praise God? What of the ones we have been praising since? Church Gist. They are even sitting by your side, they are Philips. They will just look at you and say, ‘Forget this thing, we are the SU’! From SU to MU, from MU to… (Laughing). ‘We have been Christians for years, all these praise, praise things no dey work oo’! They are the Philips! They have a very funny mindset, negative mindset! Everything you talk, they are very negative! They will say, ‘Sir, don’t bother, we are talking about reality and not all these stories that this Pastor is talking!
How em mouth no go sharp when em don dey wear gold in native? Em mouth go dey make ‘prim-prim-prim’ with black microphone, em no dey go market! If em dey go market em no go dey talk like that, em dey for pulpit here na em dey make am talk like that! They are Philips! They are in this Church sef, as I’m talking now, they are in this Church, in this second Service, they are inside! (Laughing). Church Gist. They say, ‘Leave Papa, Papa wey dey talk ‘Pa-pa-pa’ Papa wey dey ‘paparize’, em just dey talk, em no dey go market, em no know how much tomatoes dey cost for market na em make em dey talk like that. They are here! My friend, I have seen things without grumbling and in the midst of it, we say to God, ‘Thank you’! Be like Andrew, believe that God can make it happen so that your story will change John 6:7-9.
Declaration: My story will change!
And Jesus took how many loaves? Five! To feed how many? Five thousand! John 6:11. You know? It’s easy to read the Bible when you are not in difficulty. How many loaves? Five loaves! To feed how many? Five thousand men, women and children were not included. If it’s you, will you thank God? You will not. Five thousand naira is what you have for a project of fifty million naira, you won’t thank God. You know? It’s easy now to talk theory, you will say, ‘God are you still in Heaven’? Church Gist. Five thousand naira for a fifty million naira project. Many of you will forget John chapter 6, in fact, you will go and put yourself inside the room and say, ‘God, I’ve been coming for Sanctuary work, I come for ushering work, I go for soul winning, now five thousand naira for this project of fifty million naira, are you still in Heaven’? Jesus did not do that, He said, ‘Father, I thank You’!
-May you follow His example!
He (Jesus) knew what to do. Knowing what to do is what makes things happen. He said, ‘Father, I thank You’! There is a mystery here that many don’t understand. In John 6:11, the loaves did not multiply in the hands of Jesus but as He gave them out, it began to multiply. What God is saying is simple – Every time you want to see the supernatural power of God, put to use the little you have as you put it to use, it will keep multiplying. As He gave the disciples, it increased and as they were going, it was increasing. So if I have a project of fifty million naira and I have five thousand naira, I will start with the five thousand naira and before I will hit the next phase, the next money will come. I praise God again as I’m hitting the next phase, it will come again. That’s how I started this Cathedral, not that the whole money was complete. Listen, as we were going, the thing was a mystery. Are you understanding the mystery? As we were giving praise, the thing was increasing.
-May you have your testimony!
When you know what to do, you don’t panic. Are you going to praise God?
-That project that looks like a big project will be accomplished today.
So instead of grumbling, murmuring and complaining for what is not enough, you know what to do? Praise God! You commit God to increase and multiply you each time you praise Him.
5. The story of Lazarus John 11:1-3, John 11:13-14, John 11:39-44
-That thing you are going through, God will glorify Himself in that situation.
They came to Him and said, ‘Master, your friend Lazarus is sick and He said, ‘It’s for the glory of God’. Don’t think God is not aware, God is very aware, He knows what you are going through – He wants to bring glory out of that situation. Church Gist. God is not a man. They came to Him and said, ‘Your friend is sick and He said: Relax yourself, don’t have any unbelief, Lazarus will come back again! John 11:39-44. And they took away the stone, you know what He was saying? ‘Remove unbelief’. Don’t doubt God! And Jesus said, ‘Father, I thank You because Thou hast heard Me’, I’m thanking You in praise, I know that You’ve heard me.
-Today, your praise will make God to hear you.
By thanking God, stinking Lazarus was restored!
-I don’t know what is stinking in your life today, by this praise, there will be restoration!
All these instances including others which cannot be shared now, all of them – It was praise that made it happen. Church Gist. There can never be any hopeless case with praise. He was stinking in John chapter 11 and in John 12:9, they came looking for him.
-After this praise, the world will celebrate you.
You know why miracles happen here with ease? Praise! Any time we praise God, He manifests. I don’t struggle for miracles to happen here, I can just stand here and incredible miracles will happen, we praise God here! One of the biggest secrets of this Church is praise, there is no month in this Church we don’t praise God – We set aside one Sunday for praise. Church Gist. That’s one of the greatest secrets of this Church, there are people who never praise God. They get angry with God every day as if God dey owe them anything, you are the one that owes God oo. He says, ‘Let everything that has breath praise the Lord’, you are the one owing God, yesterday you didn’t go for evangelism, are you not owing Him? You are even getting angry with Him.
Don’t get angry with God oo. If you get angry with Him, who will you appeal to? If you get angry with man you can tell God but if God gets angry with you, who will you now talk to? It’s a foolish thing to get angry with God. ‘I no go go Church, you are wasting your time, before you were born, He was God. Church Gist. While you are alive, He is God, you die go, He is still God. Why are you getting angry with God? Okay, I don old! He’s the Ancient of Days, your grey hair can’t harass Him. No matter how old you are, He is the Ancient of Days. He was there before your great-grandfather came. Okay, I get money? The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof! So, how much wey you get now? Your money is like a teaspoon in an ocean, so calm down! Praise the Lord!
Praise God for God to do a special miracle in your life. Are you ready? Now, each situation ended in a miracle. God told us on Thursday to write our expectations on a piece of paper, you are going to write them down and then tell God just like all these people – In every situation, when they praise, things turn around. Say, ‘Lord! As I’m praising You, if there be anything here that men have said is impossible, make it possible – Because with praise everything becomes a reality.
