The most valuable asset to any believer is an encounter with the word. Isaiah 60:1. Encounter with the word is the greatest miracle because it puts you in charge of the miraculous naturally. Just an encounter with the word that puts the rod of command in your hand and that’s it – a brand new day. All these “pray for me” “lay hands on me” you won’t need it. A genuine encounter with the word puts you in command of the affairs of life.
Prayers – Lord I must go home tonight with a rod.
Exodus 4:17.
One of the great benefits of fasting is the distribution of rod, an outbreak of light that puts you in command. Arise and take command of the affairs of your life as you lay hold of the rod. Watch out for your rod tonight. Don’t let your rod pass you by, you can’t tell when next it will come. Stay focused, let your eyes be fixed on Jesus and watch how your rod comes. Church Gist. This rod comes to prepared hearts. A heart panting after God. A heart open to God. I knew I was redeemed as a king before I was baptized in the Holy Ghost. It comes to a prepared heart. You shall seek me and find me with all your heart, not all the Holy Ghost.
Tonight we are looking at COMMANDING THE SUPERNATURAL THROUGH THE ALTAR OF PRAYER AND FASTING. It is important to know the purpose behind doing whatever we are commanded to do. Then you are self-motivated, you are self-driven because you have come to grip what it is all about. The primary purpose of God for prescribing a fast is the empowerment of His people. Fasting is ordained for empowering God’s people. Prayer and fasting are ordained as a spiritual power station that puts a believer in command of his situation. Isaiah 58:6. Say with me power. It is not to woo God to answer your prayers. It is to gain command over your situation. Prayer and fasting is our spiritual power station where we are empowered to command the supernatural Isaiah 58:6-14. You won’t see it therefore as punishment or as trying to please somebody. Your car can’t get on the road with the fuel in my own car. You need fuel in your own car to get on the road. We buy on the altar of prayer and fasting. Matthew 25:9. We don’t buy with money as Simon thought in Acts 8. They don’t buy with money. The altar of prayer and fasting is where we buy into power. A non-fasting believer is a powerless believer. He is just on pushing religion. “I think there is a man in Badagry Beach, he sees vision. You know Papa doesn’t see vision. Once you are coming he will just tell you which village you are from”. You don’t know the truth so anything can dabble your life. Power.
One day I was waiting on the Lord in the book of Psalms. I was just enjoying my time in His presence and then there was this family who had been believing God for the fruit of the womb for 14 years. So I called them to have a chat with them. The man fell from his chair. Raw power garnered from the altar of prayer and fasting. Luke 4:36-37, 5:26. All those were manifestations of the raw power from Luke 4:1-14. What more do we need to know that this is our power station. It is not only pastors that need power, everyone that has adversaries need power. Psalm 66:3,7, Luke 10:19. Anyone that has enemies, we all have – our adversary, the devil. Every believer needs power. During the Construction of Faith Tabernacle, I was going to town around 1:30-2 am in the morning. Some robbers were on the road and some O.P.C. were pursuing them. When they sighted my car, they said “Bishop take cover”. I didn’t carry any gun. You don’t take cover, you crush. Wake up, it’s not anointing for Bishop, anointing for Pastor. It is everybody’s responsibility to walk in power. If you don’t work in power you get crushed. So all these fasting and looking at the time “Oh My Gosh”. Can you imagine yourself waiting at the filling station and they say it is not your turn and you move? Where are you moving to? The car will still stop. I can’t wait. Don’t line up, just be on your way going. It is at the centre of the road, the car will stop and they will be insulting you from all sides. In Lagos, they don’t push for free, who wants to push you. Church Gist. If your car breaks down when it is raining, you are in trouble. #5,000 nothing less or you will stay here forever. If they see that you are wearing some ring or necklace, you are finished. #20,000 or nobody will push your car. You better go to the filling station and fill up. It is a wicked world, you are not empowered, then you will be trampled underfoot. Thank God for He empowers us to witness, that’s okay. He also empowers us to live a triumphant life. To lose the bonds of wickedness from off your neck. To free you from your oppression and to break every yoke tormenting you off your life. So expect a change of level in your spiritual empowerment. Look at it like someone who knows that he is ordained for it and goes for it.
I went studying the book of Acts of the Apostles. I wanted to know the power behind the manifestation of the Apostles by the fifth day, I couldn’t sleep on the bed anymore and then I enlisted a friend. We were all there together. They said they were going to eat, but I couldn’t eat with them because I was on a fast. They said “okay! Brother David bless the food”. I just lifted up my hands to pray and none of them could eat the food again. People just burst into praying in tongues and that was what ended the food. They finished that prayer by 2 am. We are talking about power. Church Gist. If you understand it, you will not wait for the public to proclaim fast. You will be lining up for a self-proclaimed fast for a change of story of your spiritual authority. It works. We saw Jesus, pray one prayer in Luke 9 and then “He is my beloved son, Hear ye him”. In Luke 3, “He is my beloved son” and that is it. Now hear ye him. Luke 9:43. The altar of prayer coupled with fasting is where we change level in the school of power. It accelerates the rate of results.
In Acts 2, we saw the Apostles received power but in Acts 4, they walked in great power as an effect of their effectual, heartfelt prayer. It is not written but I perceive that they were on a fast. The Holy Ghost moved from power level to great power level. We change levels in the School of power on the altar of prayer and fasting. Get excited and fix your gaze on His objective for it.
Commanding Signs And Wonders From The Altar Of Prayer And Fasting.
I was on a fast, searching through the book of Ezekiel as my goal for that fast. By the third day, I heard a voice, “behold I have touched your tongue with the coal of fire, as you say it you see it”.
- It is ordained primarily for our empowerment to subdue our enemies under our feet. Isaiah 58:7.
- It empowers you to share the good news with those around you. You are a good news bearer. You are helping people to see that God has a better bearing for their lives. Matthew 24:45-47. You are empowered to be a good news bearer. Acts 1:8. There is the food side of it, clothing and others, that’s okay but those are secondary. We are empowered to share the good news with all the downtrodden around us. That God has a plan for their life, all souls are worth the same in the sight of God. Church Gist. During this operation, we are going to be around the homeless, the drug addicts to pull them out of their dungeons. We will invade the brothels, Jesus will wash them and clean them up. That’s the good news. We are empowered to be good news bearers from the altar of prayer.
- The breaking forth of light.
What that does is to put the right word in your hand to have it the way you want it. 1 John 1:1-3. There is an outbreak of light that puts a word of command in your hand to refuse the evil and choose the good to have it, the way you want it. Church Gist. Watch out for it, watch out for a new zeal with the lost. Watch out for encounters with light that put you in command of the supernatural. - It impacts your physical system.

You are the number one target for fasting, your renewal, your redecoration.
- After this fast, everyone will not know sickness ever again.

- Answer to prayer
We just think that prayer is to knock your head until God answers. That is not number one or 2 or 3. Lord empower me into the next level, ignite my spirit with new zeal for the lost around me. Let there be an outbreak of light for the lost around me. Cause my health to spring forth speedily. Then I have one or two issues that I need your intervention on.

Instead of doing trial and error, all over town. Just carry your bag to Germany without direction. The Lord guides you continually. Just carry your luggage to go to the village and go and become a Chief, the Lord will guide you continually. You jump out of a job and jump into fire, the Lord will guide you continually. After your wife has delivered four children she is now a witch, the Lord will guide you continually. If she is a witch, then all your children are demons. Many have missed their step in several things. Some have left a thriving business to go into something else and everything just crashed. Some have sold their properties to travel abroad. Church Gist. To go and do what? He doesn’t know. He says when I get there I will know. Satan says “come quickly”. He gets there and he is washing plates during the day and may-guard at night. He is misguided. When you are confused, engage the altar of prayer and fasting to know the direction God is leading you. Proverbs 27:8. It is vulnerable to all kinds of assaults. You are in a country and the police are coming, you are hiding. Life is more dignifying than all these.

Don’t be found where God is not, it is an uphill task. This ministry by the grace of God is said to be a bit anointed but we couldn’t make anything happen in Kumasi for 6 years. I said Lord, what is going on? He said I am not there. Church Gist. May you not be found where God is not. You will just be choking for nothing, wasting energy and wasting resources for nothing. When the time came to invade Ghana, no devil could stop it. Over 200 Churches are out there in that place. May you not miss where you are celebrated to where you are tolerated.

- It changes people’s level supernaturally
Enjoy it, it is for your security, enjoy it, it is for your destiny. Enjoy it, it is all first and foremost for you. Daniel 12:3. God won’t shine as a star, it’s you and me. Everything about the purpose of fasting targets you naturally. When that power is engaged in reaching out to the lost, you maintain the flow of power. You don’t run out of it.
Matthew 17:19-21.
For swift delivery, couple your faith with prayer and fasting. Instead of saying in Jesus name 20 times, you say it once and it delivers. It takes the combined forces of faith, prayer and fasting to stand against demonic installations. Church Gist. In this modern-day Christianity where everything is software, there is no software for prayer and fasting. Fasting is getting away from food and staying with God. There is no software in China where you can programme fasting on your phone for 40 days. Satan will be laughing “just come out of your game and let me show you that I am available to launch an attack against careless believers. That’s not you forever. That will not be you forever.
The good news is that you are already in this fast, you are only been told what it offers. May this be enough motivation to make fasting part and parcel of your life. It’s not a gift, it’s not a calling, it’s a covenant responsibility. Matthew 6:17-18. When you pray “thy kingdom come” is number 1. Every other thing can follow. Church Gist. We have an order. So enjoy it. Thank you Jesus for refreshing my soul on my way to my higher places. Anything you do under coercion doesn’t work. If there is a willing mind first if you are doing it cheerfully and then it delivers.
Give God thanks if you caught anything tonight. If you have a rod in your hand now, give Him thanks for it.
- Your days of torment are over. Your days of satanic oppression are over.
- Your days of sweating out of sleep are over.
- You are now on your way to your high places.
Look bright, this thing is not punishment, it is furnishment. God is furnishing your destiny. Come on now, give the Lord a genuine smile. Don’t say it is one area I am not really gifted. You don’t need a gift, you just need to take responsibility. There was a time I saw a film and there was a fire alarm or something in one hospital in India, everybody took to their heels. They were not sick, they just needed danger to steer their potential. Church Gist. Don’t wait for danger. Prepare against the day of battle. The people that they were treating ran faster than the doctor treating them. They were just nursing their situation, it was not real. The way they ran they were not sick. Kenneth Hagin told a story in one of his books of a 600 pounds weight woman being pursued by a mad dog, she scaled over a 6-meter concrete wall by Western Roll. That woman was athletic, she just needed something to steer it. Don’t wait for the day of battle to get ready. We don’t get ready in the Kingdom, we live ready. There may not be time to get ready. Proverbs 24:10. Build strength before the battle comes.
